    the ultimate job, picking up bulky waste for a living...I did it it for a summer..it was so much fun!

  • @AussieGarbo
    @AussieGarbo  16 років тому

    ... Years back I would remember the seperate trucks for the metals or seeing the metals being left behind, not the case anymore... only a few councils that remain to be good recyclers, though it's actually the collection contractors when I think about it. Just glad to see there are scavengers that come around for metals.

    Thanks...
    It is nice to heard from you that you got such videos...
    I sincerely wish that you can upload more videos of mattresses and "sofa chairs" getting eaten up...
    I enjoy watching them very very much! :)

    Suprised it all got taken! - in my council there's a 3 cubic metre limit. Suppose it's different if it's only once a year for you. I wonder how much further he could continue down the street, and if there were more piles of this size I bet the truck didn't take long to struggle. If you do get any footage of the recycle or garbage trucks, would you be able to let me know? Would be awesome to see! Thanks :D

    Well in addition to all this above, I found another bulk watse truck today. I got him eating 5 mattresses in one pick-up and a bit of other random materials. Unfortunately, they were basically full when I found them so I only got so much and there was an awesome pile with two sofas and some wooden furniture which I woulda loved to have gotten, but oh well.

    Please make more sofa, mattress or recliners clean-up video...I love to see them

  • @AussieGarbo
    @AussieGarbo  16 років тому

    I'm sure before you know it almost 100% of councils won't have manual clean-up services, at the moment manual's very common. I've noticed some councils are starting to get an automated system in with cranes/bobcats.

  • @AussieGarbo
    @AussieGarbo  16 років тому

    That's the biggest pile I've ever seen! Did they take all of it? - would've filled the truck up a good amount I bet. Do you think you could get more of the trucks?

    Great video - love the crushing sound and the sound of the machine - wondering that it is allowed to wear sneakers.

    I love it, probably because I don't get to do it very often, but I suppose with the fact that you get to see everything getting destroyed :D

    AWESOME VID!!! Probably one of the best RL vids I've seen on here yet! 5 stars! Shame all that metal went to waste tho.. do you know if this all goes to a landfill or incinerator or what? You sure do have a lot of honors for this video! ..well you deserve it great job!

  • @AussieGarbo
    @AussieGarbo  16 років тому

    Ohh right! So you guys have to write what is out for collection and have bookings for certain dates, if I understood you correctly?

  • @AussieGarbo

    Now worries, keep a look out... be up in the near future.

  • @AussieGarbo
    @AussieGarbo  16 років тому

    I'll do my best to find some more stuff according to your request. However I do have a video of another truck where it's eating a couple of sofas, a dryer, a fridge and a little bit of other loose items, that a good start?? Also I took a look at your profile, but you don't have any vids?

  • @AussieGarbo
    @AussieGarbo  16 років тому +1

    Thanks! Well now it's reality :D I've been hanging out for this for ages (and I mean aaages), rarely ever see it unfortunately. The body and chassis is correct.

  • @AussieGarbo
    @AussieGarbo  16 років тому

    Thanks =] All this is taken directly to a landfill, sadly. Though you do get scavengers that take a good amount of things away a lot of the time, though furniture tends to get left for some reason?? Last week I found out metal merchants coming around and take about 95% of the metal, not hard to mistake a truck with a tonne of metal on the back!

  • @motherduckof5
    @motherduckof5 16 років тому

    it was pretty big yes they did take it all ..there was a few in my area just as large....but he finished the street before he went off so couldn't of been that full
    i wont beable to get footage of anymore bulk rubbish trucks untill next year...but i guess i could get the street sweeper , recycling and garbo trucks :)

    Also should add that the greens trucks only get about 7.5t on them, the other trucks only get about 6.5t and the legal is 9-10t for them! So yer the trucks fill real quickly and usually results in unecessary trips to the tip and extra loads...

    The second one aint a mattress - its what the mattress goes on top of. not sure of the name, but they're usually made with wood innards

    what is the engineer adjusting that is causing the unit to "jam"?????

  • @Powerpresse
    @Powerpresse 16 років тому

    Hi MitchellM15
    no i have no selfmade videos.. in germany bulky waste is only to order for one house. We write the items on the ordercard for bulky waste. No fridge, no radiator, no tires. We had in the past (before the early 1990´) the same collection as you for the whole village.
    In the past the garbage men collected all things! ("Sperrmüll")too.

  • @AussieGarbo
    @AussieGarbo  16 років тому

    I was suprised with how much was on this little part of the street, though some areas are packed with heaps of things... units/apartments is the perfect example. As far as I know, the service is free. Though it's strange because these days nothing comes for free, I'm sure it's being charged somewhere. Thanks 4 the words =]

  • @happyfa
    @happyfa 16 років тому

    Can you upload them to here as soon as possible? Please....Please

  • @AussieGarbo
    @AussieGarbo  16 років тому

    Oh Ok, maybe that's the reason. I only knew real rural councils to not have the service.

  • @AussieGarbo
    @AussieGarbo  16 років тому

    Yer the bad thing is it's the same situation with most councils, only a small amount where the materials are taken to MRFs or transfer stations where things are sorted. It's prety stupid how everything ends up underground, most of the materials can be recovered, just comes down to money in the end. A lot of councils tend to have seperate metal collections, though everything ends up in the one truck... once again money - extra trucks for the metal...

  • @AussieGarbo
    @AussieGarbo  15 років тому

    They use the same trucks in the Warringah Units series I just put up: four are JP5s and then there's one HEIL

  • @AussieGarbo
    @AussieGarbo  16 років тому

    Depends on what they have to collect

  • @AussieGarbo
    @AussieGarbo  16 років тому

    I got a video recently with some wood, a couple of mattresses and 2 "sofa chairs" getting eaten up, will upload soon. Not sure about the mattress at 2:10, but probably just the build of it or something.

  • @happyfa
    @happyfa 16 років тому

    What kind of mattress in 2:10 (the 2ndne)..why is it so crunchy than the 1st one?

  • @AussieGarbo
    @AussieGarbo  16 років тому

    ... So now you can only get a max of 8t (and the legal is 9t) on the truck, though usually 7-7.5 for an average load. Before the adjustments to the pressures, the packer would come down hard on anything and wouldn't jam or stall (unless some stumps get in the path), however not the case anymore. So now the drivers have to reverse the packer and bring it down again OR they have to move/pull-out some stuff in the hopper. So yer, a nice elaborated answer for you :D

  • @garbagemaster1234567
    @garbagemaster1234567 15 років тому

    One thing that has always bugged me about this truck model is that the packer blade doesn't go up far enough. It kind of lines up with the top half of the packer, therefore its not getting as much stuff in one pack cycle as it should.

  • @AussieGarbo
    @AussieGarbo  16 років тому

    Expect more, keep a look out.

    Now that i see this video wow i think its about your best or real close Mitchell.

  • @AussieGarbo
    @AussieGarbo  16 років тому

    Don't you have a hard waste service?? You gotta dispose of all the bulky stuff yourself do ya? It's interesting seeing piles decrease in size usually during the weekend before the collections, heaps of stuff's thrown out, you should see all the furniture still in great condition. Also the time the metal merchants bring out the trucks for a scavenge :D Atleast it gets recycled!

  • @Shane1163
    @Shane1163 16 років тому

    man that sucks! They need to do something better.. a town near us did a collection this year and it was their first time doing it, that all went to an incinerator, but they took things separate for recycling and the actual garbage went to the waste-to-energy incinerator for electricity.. I'm sure they have magnets to remove metal after the fire! I think they might have taken metal separate tho.. not sure. I'm glad a lot of the metal was picked up!

    haha, years back I used to feel sorry for the crap that gets eaten mercilessly by rugged metal powered by hydraulics... now I don't give a shit - I tend to be the mastermind at the controls :D hehe I've never tried maggots before, but I heard they're full of vitamins and nutrients. What's the chance that next time I'll be getting 4.79 stars? lol

    Ditto with the bike at the end...people are so stupid and wasteful with resources...sigh.

  • @AussieGarbo
    @AussieGarbo  16 років тому

    Well firstly the engineer's an arsehole, none of the drivers like him, he plays around with the trucks to give the drivers a hard time. With the greens trucks they used to pack a shitload of stuff in the truck and the load would go over legal - the engineer gets the shits and has a cry. A couple of months ago he decided to turn down the 'pressures' on the truck, so now you can't pack jack-shit on them, guaranteeing the trucks will stay under the legal payload, making the engineer a happy lad...
