legendary bass lines!! Watch this: ua-cam.com/video/CLC-5L-pCFc/v-deo.html and watch the Legendary and original bassplayer Rutger Gunnarsson (the only video i have find)!: ua-cam.com/video/B139-IqKcqg/v-deo.html&start_radio=1
Rutger Gunnarson was a seasoned musician already when recruited by ABBA. His main bass was a Jazz. "Dancing Queen" is deceptively hard, and "Knowing Me Knowing You" is extremely non-conventional.
One of the best Abba bass lines l ve heard. Sharp timings with smooth flow, a real pleasure to listen to. I hope you do get a chance to do a couple more Excellent!!
Brilliant! Subscribed. One can learn so much from your playing! Can you do Dancing Queen and Money Money Please? And you're absolutely right, Abba did have some great bass lines!
@@ashgonza92 tricky one! I like to think I'm always getting a little better. I started playing when I was 11 and started doing gigs when I was 12, so that really tightened me up a hell of a lot. I had a really good teacher for my 1st 3 years. I don't feel I've really gotten any better technically since I was about 19 .... 2-3 years of hard work probably laid the foundation for what I still rely on. Diminishing returns after that. Hope that helps
Top playing mate....i'm afraid to say i copied it note for note as i couldn't find a decent tab.....apart from the little fill in at 41 secs.....couldn't do that....but went for A6/A7/D7 instead which works well....beautiful Bass.....keep it up mate....great playing !
James Maxted I’m just starting, a couple of months ago. I’m 54, how much could I achieve and approximately how much time if I practice 2 hours a day? And what should I focus on first? I can already play some covers published on UA-cam so I think I have passed the rookie part but I’m struck in speed.
@@blackisblack22 Excellent! That's a really good start. If I could start again with my learning I would put priority into arpeggios and pentatonic scales. Practice dead slow and really focus on your timing and quality of notes from both hands. Be relaxed when you play. Only increase the speed when you've really nailed it. Take your time working on one thing at a time rather than spreading yourself too thin. Practicing Arpeggios will help with speed, dexterity, string skipping, ear training and harmony. If there's a specific piece of music you're trying to play that is too fast for you, break it into pieces. Try playing just the first 2 notes over and over, then add the third then fourth etc. Hope that helps
James Maxted I have not really paid attention to scales and arpeggios and now that you mention it sounds right to pause the covers and return to the basics until master it. I appreciate your advice as I see in you someone who is already on the other side and can indicate the path with greater clarity. Thank you very much and be well.
@@blackisblack22 No problem at all! After a while with a little knowledge of things like arpeggios, you will start seeing and hearing them in Baselines, and you'll start to learn songs a little faster too
Sorry learned by ear. If Google doesn't give anything, try using the speed button in the bottom right corner of the video, slow it down and write your own. hope you get sorted :)
This is just absolutely amazing, never knew how great ABBA's bass lines were
Oh yes! They are a treat!
