I mean it's not a bad change, they are trying to unify all their games under 1 launcher, so having same ID in every game is just easier for players to recognize each other and it probably makes their social panel work better inbetween different games.
They are reworking the client's functionality to modern tech...... what every league player cries about 24/7 that they dont update anything.

this is what i said when they removed names from lobbies
before you literally could tell who was a bot during champion select if their name didnt appear in the chat as "inigo137 joined the lobby" it was 100% accurate and you always knew who was a bot, when i found it out i started dodging the games with bots and explaining it to my lobby asking if someone else can dodge for me so i wouldnt stack up too much penality since i had bots like every 3 or 5 games
i made a post on reddit about it and how riot made a video once saying how they try to keep people around 50% winrate just by looking at stats and i talked of scammy that sounds since if im iron wich i am but i play like gold i should deserve to get more lp and rank up but i always get put in lobbies that are objectively inferior to the enemy. im not kidding i once played as iron, with bronze players in my team, i a toplaner, was queued against an enemy platinum toplaner with like a million mastery. as soon the game started every one mentioned it and said i shouldnt take it bad and its not my faulth since it was simply not fair match (i got first kill 1v1 and played decently good overall until late game where he stomped everyone but i got some adrenaline from actually beating him and every one even enemy being impressed. never forgetting that feeling)
post got removed by mods and a month or two later they updated the game to hide names
i dont remember names always not appearing, im guessing they messed up something or bots changed which removed them from joining, people started to notice it just like i did and riot tried to hide them with the update
people who dont believe in losers queue literally dont know shit about the game, its real and riot confirmed it. if you win a lot you are going to lose a lot, if you lose a lot you are going to win a lot eventually.

This has got nothing to do with Wild Rift lmao. Literally every single Riot game other than League uses Riot IDs, it doesn't make sense for League to keep the Summoner names. Besides, Riot said this would happen back they introduced Riot IDs.

Players in other games from Riot don't complain about this because they never had it in the first place.

The name exclusivity is a big deal, This is a terrible change. Why don't they ask the community if we think this is a good change? They have to literally bait us into getting pissed off at them for them to figure anything out, its so frustrating.
Literally every other Riot game uses the Riot ID system. Name exclusivity is an outdated system. I don't even understand why anyone even cares anymore. There are much bigger issues to complain about in League than cohesion with their other games names.

Yet they never thought to ask the community if we wanted it to happen or if we thought it was necessary.
I am losing my happiness day after day because of this type of harsh decisions. I love thinking about unique summoners names and displaying them in the lobby. I don't care if I waste my BE with that as long as it makes me happy, that's what matters.

And it's a whole 'team'. You can tell that they added a bunch of fluff to that article too. One sentence is literally all they needed to surmise this change but they padded their word count like a desperate college student would. Working at Riot seems like a blast tbh: nothing but inventing easy work for yourselves and then enjoying a pizza party for the rest of the day. Might dye my hair purple and apply there.

I have waited for ~5 years to claim my first name 'Danny' on EUW. I loved the idea that after such a long time of waiting, after losing out to some bot account 3 years ago, and finally being able to claim it a year ago, that I would be the exclusive owner of that simple name on EUW. And now anyone can be called anything. Ugh.
man. it kinda sucks the exclusivity of having your own individual name in the game will be gone. i personally have a cool little story about my summoner name too. when I created my account I was not lucky enough to get the name i wanted so i had to put ones instead of i's. one day i decided to check if my name was available with i's and to my surprise since the original account only leveled to level 6 it didn't have any name protection and I was able to get that name. now that'll mean nothing. sadge
Next feature from Riot is to remove all other champions from the game you're at. You no longer see your 4 allies, nor the 5 enemies. It will be the best chill experience where Riot was finally able to remove all toxicity from the game at 100% success rate.

Ok so ingame or in client it will either show with #number at the end or without. If with it will look shit, if without it means people will use each others name and its awful wth i dont wanna see 25 billion people with the name Faker or hideonbush
Newer player wil never experience the moment you create your account and you have to abandon your usual username because in league its already taken, therefore creating your new self, the league self.
The reason why some of us are not happy with this is because some IGN are impossible to get hence it's worth something. Just like myself whose IGN is "The Vírtuoso" in my server, I get compliments and things like, "oh so you're the one who took that ign, good for you!" stuffs like that. But because of this update, there will be no sense of uniqueness in the game. Yes, we will have unique ID no. but because of this update, you can now queue with players with the same name as yours except the ID no. But here's the thing, who's gonna memorize and remember someone's ID number? The title of this video is literally what it says, YOUR ign is now the ID no. that they're gonna give you, the ign itself is more like a status bio only since everyone can put anything in that "in game name" tab, if this update really happens. And it's sad.
Ok now I will need to collect my friends rename all 5 accounts the same name than go into a game and flame/praise each other by calling them by summoner name.

In voice chat you tell all 4 of your friends which role they have to play, but they can't tell it to the others. Imagine saying nice gank XYZ and getting 4 thx XYZ answers. I hope there will be a Content creator somewhere who makes this happen. It could be a funny video to watch at least 1-2 of them.
Just like in among us. Personally not watched it, but somebody came up with the idea on naming theselves to things like: I, you, me, them, us etc. Those were the only among us videos I watched.

I have the orignal Lustful IGN and this is such a slap to long term player or people that stayed up just to get their desired name. So disconnected from their player base it's not even funny.
It is weird and a change disliked by the community but dont say its "out of the blue" thats totally wrong, ever since they introduced RiotID it has been something that would've been expected sooner or later, combining all their games onto an account that shares the same name.

Right now, if you change your ID name, it would change on the launcher/Valorant/LoR but if you open LoL, you get the summoner name you used to have. Kinda annoying unless you spend BE/RP to change the name just for LoL

So Discord makes a decision to remove its # numbers and everyone on Discord gets mad about it, and Riot looks at that like "hey, look, a thing people actually liked? Lets go copy that system and pretend like its a unique idea"

Ummmm ... the ENTIRE REASON we had Riot IDs to log into the game was to SEPARATE our summoner names from our logins way back because it was a measure to prevent people from being hacked and having accounts stolen ...

Riot changed my riot ID after 10 years and wont change it back and did not give me a reason for why it was changed in the first place :( (it was originally WholeBunchOfUgly)

We have literally known about this change coming for years... I think the # name tag system is necessary for large scale platforms. It was a shame Discord moved away from it. What is stupid is the fact they are going to start charging us to change Riot ID's now even though we could do it for free for so long. 1 step forward, 2 steps back.
