- Scott G Toepfer's short film about "doing what you can with what you have."
All the songs are from Chuck Ragan:
01. Pedal Down
02. The Fire, The Steel, The Tread
03. Dust in the Wake
04. Bedroll Lullaby
05. It's Dark
06. I Believe
07. Go to Sleep
There are so many 'how to', 'which is best', 'what to buy' motorcycle videos nowadays, that it's detracted from what IS the essence of motorcycling...FREEDOM! I'm 61 and have never forgotten the connection I had with all of my bikes...not necessarily because of the bikes themselves, but where and how they took me to different places. I had just as much fun on my first ever bike...a 1974 CB125 Honda as I did on my last one...a 2004 Suzuki GSX1400! I would often ride alone to no place in particular, with no fairing, an open face helmet and the wind and nature as my constant companions. A had a connection with all my bikes, they became an extension of me...and that's part of the joy of motorcycling. If I found some fellow, like-minded riders, then I would gladly ride with them to no place in particular. These days, everything seems to be programmed for us, GPS, electronic gadgets and 'THINGS' we simply MUST have to survive! I say no to that...not that they're bad or anything, I just refuse to be reliant on them. I Choose FREEDOM instead! So, Get out on your motorcycle and ride to no place in particular...there you'll find your truest self! Congrat's to the riders who made this film... you seem to have encapsulated the essence of motorcycling...FREEDOM!.
Perfectly said brother❤️

Totally agree with you mate, however nowadays we've got cameras all over are roads monitoring are everymove, big brother is watching mate, I agree just get out and ride 100%agree enjoy, but we are being watched, George Orwell 1984.. Keep on keeping on, ride safe. 🤘👍
Awesom.
E road trip look like fun , love my triumph
Twenty four motorcycles in fifty three years of riding, you're absolutely right😊
Children of the wind.Don't stop.Keep riding and living.May freedom always be with you.Peace and Love....
I have been riding since l turned 16 and got my license...never been of ever since..lost friends, crashed and burned from time to time...but l always got myself back in the sadle...28 years with a tent on the back and still love the life on a bike....not as crazy as back then...but the passion are alive...
Restored my first bike at age 15 and at 71 years old I'm still riding...looking.
I still have my 1976 Triumph T140V Bonneville 750 I love her dearly. I also have a 2015 Harley-Davidson FLHP Road King Police, which I rode today. I turned 67 last March 2017 and I plan on riding until I can't hold up my machine, even then I will re-attach my side car and ride some more. Hopefully well into my 90's.
At first I was like "Uh, I got stuff to do, I don't want to watch the full video right now... Let's add it to my watch later list, and watch the first minute."
18 minutes later, I'm still here !
The video was so strong ! I really can feel through my screen the spirit of these boys, riding together in the wild !
My God, this short movie is some of the best things I ever saw including the pure motorcyclist love :D
I am 73 and still love my ride!!! Great video. I live in Colombia and love the scenery and roads, of all kind. Keep on biking fellows!!!
Good on you mate !!!!, dont stop riding sir ,dont stop riding .73 is just a number ,your only as old as you feel .be safe on the road .respect sir respect

I mean that's the spirit my mate.. I'm 81 and still go out on solo trips camping by the lake/beaches on my 1976 royal Enfield.. and I never feel that I'm aging old or anything.. my bike keeps my youth alive.
I turned 61 last January and still ride my 1983 Harley Davidson FXWG whenever I can.
cool!!Harley Davidson forever!!
romuald besombes ...REALLY HD's Forever ? That's like saying 8 Track tapes forever ! Not knocking your ride dude but you may wanna open your mind.
slogroove who are you to judge what i say?are you the GOD of motorcycle?i don't have the right to love harley-davidson?I'm a H-D rider and i will open my mind when you'll shut your mouthand the most important thing is that i don't give a fuck about your opinion!!!
romuald besombes Jerry Taylor
Do you really whatched this movie? Do you got the feeling what this movie wants to show to you? It's about to feel better with what you have. Independent what motorcycle you have, Harley Davidson or Indian or Norton, even Honda or Kawasaki, the trip and friendship is more important than that. 20 years ago, a friend of mine had a Lambretta, and both os us were had a very good moments, a lot of fun with that bike. Every single bike have good and bad things, but it's irrelevant when you have good friends. Think about it!
romuald besombes Not a God, just a mere mortal, and a former HD rider who believes the Theory of Evolution also relates to motorcycles. Once you realize your underpowered 70 hp, overpriced machine needs a top end rebuild every other year, you'll understand my ire. Hate is a strong word, but I truly hate everything HD stands for, especially the suggestion that you can purchase "cool". HD sells more merchandise than bikes. The words " HD and Forever " should never be in the same sentence.
Bel filmato, mi è piaciuto molto il sottofondo musicale, le riprese mi hanno riportato alla mente "easy riders" e i giri che facevo con la mia compagnia negli anni 70. GRAZIE !!! BELLO !!!
I turned a 106 yesterday, saw a F16 flying over my head while out riding my Honda R1 ironhead at Erzberg rodeo and decided to race the jet. Nearly won too but the special high octane fuel I import from the south pole jammed up my carburetor and I lost. But this won't stop me from riding until I am 86 years old. Love the video. Keep it up.
Thats so stupid its hilarious! What more stupid is me looking up Honda R1 Ironhead! Asshole. Lol
I love this film, music, the bikes and the envy the fun you all had. What inspiration it gives, to plan my own special adventures, thanks.Alan, North Wales, UK
+Alan Hackett Thanks Alan!!! I hope you feel the spirit of freedom when you ride your adventures. Best Regards, Yuri
Cool film!! Ride On!!
I just turn 67 and had 46 bikes.. love them all just change them to discover new riding and handling I wish I could keep them all..I intent to have more .. from your video I could feel you are right. no matter what kind of bike you have just riding is wonderful..
Claude Côté , hi Claude, I am 61 and I have only one old 500cc bike and I am very happy with it, with 46 you must be in haven!!!, cheers mate , have fun, we only live once!!
Cinematography on this film is stunning. Absolutely beautiful and inspiring.
After 47 years of riding, I still get a kick out of all the aspects of motorcycling...great vid that captures the essence of "Why We Ride"!
Looks like a great ride. Thanks for the video.Just put three hundred miles on the bonneville, 2 October. Mn. Nice fall wx.
Fantastics, thank you for the travel....
Really awesome film, a deep and beautiful story, top quality and good songs.
I can't understand why people don't like and share much that video, there is a true reflection about the way you can ride a motorcycle, live your passion and make it changes your life.
I hope this can inspire people to build their own trip.
Sorry for my english and have a good ride,
From France.
I'll be 67 in June. I still ride with my youngest son but long hard rides are over for me (not the spur of the moment the hell with it rides though). I wish I could still do it. I'm glad there are still people that still do it.
Raw, edgy, out of focus, beautiful. Such a great piece. Thanks!
I have to say this was a number of years ago but absolutely love this video. It’s what motorcycling is all about.
It really doesn't matter what kind of motorcycle you have. If riding it is fun and you enjoy it, then it is the right thing. I am just 50, but my first memories of riding motorcycle are from the end of 60s when my dad had 175cc CZ 450 and he took me to ride with, I sat on the fuel tank, just in front of him. It was virtually breathtaking experience.
I was a summer/winter rider for 6 years. Back in my early to late 20s when I could tolerate it. Now that I'm 40 I just don't have the tolerance for those foggy rainy icy winter rides anymore. I still ride even in the winter but now it's by choice, not because that's my only form of transportation.
This film maker has got soul, unlike most bikers today. love it from a 365 motorcyclist. No bullshit-your images are what I think of.
I guess it resumes what is be friend and love rides and bikes. I can be part of a group, but be real friend is something special. Thanks for the comment! Best wishes!
It makes me happy and pulls me back from the sadness. Thank you very much. :)
Absolutely amazing film, breathtaking shots with amazing cinematography skills. It’s got a kind of feeling to it.
One of my favorite movies about motorcycling. So good!
Very nice work. Thanks guys. Saw is Azores islands.
This is what the American Dream is to me.
The open road, a couple bikes, your closest friends, a case of beer & and a good time had by all

I could watch this film over and over since I first watched it back in 2,013
The spirit is strong in these guys, I enjoyed every second of that.
I trust you’re all still doing well.
A 10 year old Triumph with an early 70s Honda 350K4 tank on it, how cool is that 😏

Too much Fun ! Like they say a person can Never have too much Fun ! I enjoyed the hell out of this video, so make some more .
It is better in the wind. True words.

Great video and superb music
I watched this 9 years ago and it inspired me to get a cafe motorcycle. Watching this years later still gives me that great feeling. I still want to know what the first song is haha
How can someone dislike this video.. ! Get a bike morons..im 30..I own 81' Enfield 350.. loving it .lovely music.. much love from India
This is the real freedom , God bless America
Very cool, beautifully shot video that captures the essence of living with and riding motorcycles. People who have never been around bikes will be inspired by this - and so will people who have one in the garage gathering dust.
Yes it is a beautiful film. But people who have been around bikes for a while will think these guys are stupid for riding with no protective gear, especially out in the middle of nowhere. Artistically the film is beautiful, but it sends the wrong message. Science, medicine, and design have proven the need for protection. They have been lucky up to this point. Luck and wisdom run two different tracks.
@@SilverShadow2LWB Well said.
Thanks for the awesome video and songs. Cheers from S.Korea

The thing about a motorcycle that outsiders just dont get is that its all about that feeling of freedom. That is what it is all about in the end.

muita inveja dessa galera ,parabéns
I've watched this gem a few times and get chicken skin each time, then i fire up my moto and go for a rip...dig it!!
Great video, man!
Music was good in this. It's a bit rock videoish, but otherwise it captures the feeling quite well. The old chemical film style works well. I would have like to see a more pans of the scenery. The "big sky" horizon is lost in a lot of otherwise good shots. Still a great, fun film. Been awhile, but I bought another motorcycle after 26 years without riding - a beautiful Harley Davidson. I plan to get lost on the highways next summer.
Timeless
this video is really inspiring. I'd love to have an adventure like this.
2024 still here?
