I love watching these reviews so I can listen to them driving home from the theater. It makes me think I’m discussing it afterwards with my friends! I can’t wait 😛 🚗
As an Australian, I object to the idea you can kill a kangaroo by just hitting it with a car. Those bastards will launch themselves right onto the hood of your car, completely destroy it, and then bounce away like it's nothing, leaving you stranded in the middle of nowhere. Those are the true demonic creatures. 😂
@BrianLikesBeans I guess every country has their quirks 😆 I've seen videos from Canada with giant moose. How are those real!? You'd be surprised just how many kangaroos are around though. Drive through a country town and their football oval will have at least 50 roos taking a nap in the sun 😆 It's led to a bunch of overpopulation issues though. They're just so many!
Joseph and Nick are doing a stand-up routine with this recap. I’m still insanely traumatized from this movie but their recollection is unbelievably hilarious which puts a smile on my face. This movie is seriously scary and heavy but hearing Joseph read the hair choices for filth is EVERYTHING.
Just letting you guys know I've developed a total parasocial relationship with you and in my mind you're my besties with whom I always have a great time discussing movies.
The theme of lost connection is throughout the movie from beginning to end. From the brother looking for his other brother at a crowded party to everyone looking at their phone and literally tuning people out to Mia shutting down her dad when he was telling her truth about her mom to kids trying to disconnect from the real world either for entertainment or at least to feel something. It’s everywhere. I really enjoyed this movie and thought it was terrifying.
I love what you said about Mia's hair!😂😂😂😂 but it kinda makes it all more realistic- teens do awful things to their hair, cut it, dye it, and straighten it everyday. We also can tell that Mia doesn't have the best decision making skills. 😂
It was her fault though. Mia and the friends were supposed to get Riley out by 50 seconds. She didn't because her "mom" was using Riley as vessel to talk to Mia. And then they didn't blow out his candle when the hand was removed from Riley's hand. She is 100% responsible!
So the choice in possessions wasn’t arbitrary! Mia was seeing things because her first time she went over 90 seconds. They were able to stay in Riley because he went way over 90 seconds and they did not blow out the candle with him after they got the hand off him. I thought this film was really thrilling and the performances were amazing!
Whenever Joseph calls someone elderly I crack up. I want to know his take on Barry Keoghan playing someone because he looks 16, 28, and 43 all at once.
Side note comment: It's extremely validating to watch these reviews because I forget details all the time in movies and books. So, to see how Joseph and Nick navigate that aspect of Joseph's memory about names and scenes (like the kangaroo) makes me feel less weird for how quickly I forget stuff.
I just watched this movie and couldn’t wait for it to end so I could watch your review 😂 I just KNEW Joseph was going to come for Miss Mia’s unfortunate hair 🤭 Once again, your review did not disappoint. Love you both.
it is an analogy for doing drugs, the brothers said so! the compounding of grief and addiction. i think riley was more susceptible cus he’s so young and mia also got connected because she did it for 91 seconds. they also said they created a full lore for the hand like a whole prequel backstory basically, which is cool. i agree it did a classic story in such a sharp and creative way and it was really full of heart. great performances but wow sophie wilde is such a star.
As soon as I hear that both Nick and Joseph loved the movie, I clicked off and will watch the review after I watch the movie :). I love how yall break it down, down to what other works the director or producer involved themselves in. Perfect blend of co-hosts
I really enjoyed this one. It certainly leaves a lot unanswered for potential sequels (the origins of the hand) but I’d be happy if they left it as a one and done. I have to say though, it’s my belief that Mia didn’t sacrifice herself by jumping into traffic, but rather Jade pushed her into the traffic to save her brother. It seemed to me Mia didn’t know she was dead until those final moments in the hospital, and the candle bit at the very end sealed the deal. Overall, I have to say this may be the best horror movie I’ve seen so far in 2023. I look forward to this year’s remaining horror releases. Love the channel, all the best!
Great review like always. I loved the movie. I think the reason why the demons wanted Riley was because he was young and vulnerable and easily terrified. Maybe they can take you over more if you're young and vulnerable like that. I know they stated that he was too young and that's why they didn't want him to do it at first. Anyway, great hearing your thoughts!
Also Mia looked like she had a relaxer, so that wouldn’t require straightening necessarily, blow drying and using some gel would create a similar effect!
My dad leaned over to me while watching this and said this reminds me of "Flatliners" and I went "The original with Kevin Bacon?" He nodded! Ironically my dad hadn't seen any trailers for this movie ahead of this which surprised me so he walked in with an open mind. I really enjoyed this film, I enjoyed not having any prior knowledge of a franchise/IP before watching it. The spirits really like Riley because of how "pure" he was. In a couple scenes before he's chastising his friend for selling cigarettes and when he's offered one he declines.
First, I love Joseph's shirt. Second...you definitely need to make a short of Joseph saying 'hell no' to risking his life for a friend's sibling. 😂 I totally agree! Especially if it has to do with a crazy ass ghost.
This review was excellent! I watched the movie this weekend and I thought it was very scary, it gave me the same vibes as Smile and I would have to say that this movie delivered on the horror. I was pleasantly surprised. I would have to say that this movie has been the scariest movie of this year so far. Joseph and Nick are the dream team and this was everything❤️
I’m a massive horror fan and must say I thought it was excellent. 99% better than the hollywood horror garbage being force fed our way. Fun, funny, disturbing and quite shocking. I love movies made with love and this one definitely is
@@easyenetwork2023i saw it the other day. It’s not great. It’s not as bad as everyone is saying though. It’s focused too much on the family. The preacher is in it for like two minutes. Great review, guys! Btw, did anyone notice that Mia died in the exact same spot (I think) as the Kangaroo? Check out the same graffiti in the upper left of the screen.
Mia's hair looked like a grown out relaxer with the curly roots and the straight ends my god it was bad! Glad you guys mentioned it because it took me out haha!

You guys actually fly to Berlin to watch movie premiers? That's really cool! Do you make a holiday of it? How long do you have jet lag?
