- Here is a great video featuring the Aircam, simply put one of the most amazing airplanes ever built! It takes flying fun, unbelievable performance and safety to a a new level.
Nice video, of a Really nice plane!!! I particularly like the low speed stability and performance, the very good STOL performance / manners and the outstanding ROC , the safety of twin engines that are mounted fairly close together, the very good and predictable single engine performance, the capability to burn 3.5-4.0 gph with both engines running on cruise, the large empenage that is located a good distance from the CG, the duel fuel tanks with the numerous ways to deliver the fuel to both or either of the engines, the reliability of dual charging systems, the very good visibility for the pilot and pax, the parasol wing that has low specific loading, and great accessibility for lifting area, maintenance and inspection.... Just an excellent plane design that has a lot of really nice features... 👍
I am planning to buy and built one next year. I can't wait but I have to until my friend retires as a 777/787 Etihad Pilot. Then we're going to have fun! I'm feeling like a kid now. Cheers!

I owned and flew a Super Drifter for many years (Rotax 912). The AirCam looks like a great evolution from the drifter. Big problem is cost. 2 x 912s = $$$$$$.
I don't understand the need for 2 engines. It's not a safety issue, because the R 912 is bullet proof. It's not a performance issue because I had bags of surplus power with one 912 spinning a 4 blade prop. Even on floats with 2 souls on board and full fuel, at max TOW I never ran short of mojo.

Compared to... what???... it's a *twin* engine plane with a super-safe/low stall speed... not to mention that as a seaplane, the engines are not only high above the water, but nicely shielded by the wing... this is a *very innovative* aircraft. You have to pay for intelligent design, eh wot? ;')
PLUS... what other General Aviation aircraft--at ANY price--puts you that far forward of the wing, with such an UNobstructed view? Get the *BRIGHT YELLOW* paint, flip on your strobes, and it's the ultimate in VFR see-and-be-seen, eh wot?
Build one from scratch. You'll save at least 50%. I also wouldn't put the 912 on this aircraft. Excess weight on the top of a pusher wing complicates handling. The 582 is sufficient to enable this plane to stay in the air on one engine.
The view is unprecedented in an aircraft class where aircraft are designed for visibility.
I am thinking about getting the plans and building a single seat version with a couple of 503s.

drguffey they’re amphib floats so yes. Was one at osh 18
Yes, notice the 2 wheels on each float--one upfront on the bow, and the other about 2/3 of the way back--which retract in flight and for water use. In fact, @5:34 you can see it roll off of the land and into the water!
What’s so Amazing ?? You get the same amusement. With a quicksilver. At a fraction of the cost. That thing is at nearly 280 k dollars. What you expect ?? Ridiculous
