This is what real country music is!! True country legends, many have passed away but their music lives on!! They had pride in their songs and how they performed and dressed!! Thank God I don’t have to listen to the crap they call country today!! I have a great collection of old country songs by these legendary singers!!

Country music is what happened when so-called "hillbilly" string bands picked up blues forms and jazzy swing tempos from black musicians. It's really interesting to trace the history of American popular music, especially the progression of blues to jazz to country to rock to rap and all the combinations thereof.

I was raised in a small town near Bakersfield, shafter. Lots of good country music there. Years later saw ray price at buck Owen’s crystal palace. Great performer as we’re several others who performed there

@@thomassvec3771 June Carter wasn't beautiful in the standard sense, nor was she a great singer, but she sure as heck had stage presence, a great figure, and charisma in bucket loads!

Treasured pioneers of country music are precious stones to shine forever. Today's singer's should study the history of truth.

Ray was known to play in Texas honky-tonks you know. Some of those places really had chicken wire in front of the bands. Others needed it!

Well, what about James Charles (Jimmie) Rodgers? He doesn't sound anything like what country music purists call "country".
