I love this show so much. I love Jonathan Groff so much.
I am sucker for shows with beautiful cinematography... like Queen's Gambit, Peaky Blinders, Vikings or.... Mindhunter. Symmetry in this show is soooo on point. Watch it! Really, you are missing out!

okay so how come you think this isn't good? come on, it's amazing! it made me go through a rollercoaster of emotions! firstly, the scenes with Kemper I'd forgotten how intense they are - literal goosebumps - then all these other serial killers who come into play and are just so freaky (gosh i miss it too much...) and the kinky stuff hahaha and finally the dynamic duo that is holden & bill, just immediately smiled... symmetry was on point 👌

I watched some videos that claim that Holden is a narcissist and man....everything makes sense, especially the scene where the wife of a principal came to talk to him, and how apathetic he was. Or that he is always the one sitting and the shot make it seem like he is above his team's members. Or when he broke up, he did not even care. And that man in the video said i think , that Holden used his girlfriend to talk to her about the things he loved ( serial killers ) but he never cared about the things she liked. There is even a scene where he makes fun of the people she studies. Also, he was the one who allowed her to be with him again after their first break up because at the shot when they saw each other, he went inside the shop she was, and then when she asked for attention and emotional support at the supermarket, he said that he just wanted her to listen to what he says and when they broke up, she was not sure if she was going to break up with him, Holden was the one who took the decision. I love him as a character, and i hope that they reconsider the idea of making a s3 after some years, because to give atla live action and once piece a shot, and millions of dollars, make it seem like they have the budget. People love it. Mindhunter has 80+ reviews on Netflix. I guess that is why Holden was saying that he manipulated Kemper, and when he found out that Kemper tried to die in order to make him go see him, showing that he was the one manipulating him, he showed him that they were the same. Also, the man in those videos said that Holden was afraid of his life, but not physically but emotionally, since this was the first time that we ever got to see Holden showing any big emotion. And i remember watching that scene, and asking for him to show any emotion,( without hearing about him being having narcissistic personality disorder ). I was like... " Dude show me something. Show me at least anger!". I think that the one scene that showed us that he is a narcissist is when those two men tried to interview the team for the tape. Before going seeing Kemper, Holden showed them what he truly thinks of them, he even mocked them and said that the only wrong thing he did, was to think that he ever doubted himself. He did not even stay there and hear them lecturing him of being wrong. WOW! If that is true, i will go and watch the show, having all these things in my mind. I still love him, but to me he is one step before crossing the line of becoming like Kemper. But i think that is why he is so fascinated with killers. ( although at first i thought that the struggler killer we were watching in some shots, was his dad, before realizing that he was a future killer that the team will try to catch), I think that Holden would be interesting in finding out how he managed to not be like them, or maybe to think that he is better than them. Because he does not need to kill in order to take control. Or that in general, Holden represents again that one step before loosing control and killing someone. Maybe he wanted to understand himself as a person to see if he is good or not. If he is a narcissist, that could also explain why he was so 100% into the whole idea with him always being right and doing whatever he wanted. Also, another time that i believe maybe he showed his true self, or something he could become, is when he said to that killer about " the cunts". What if Holden talked like that because he understood better than anyone how narcissists think? They take whatever they want right? Just like Holden. The killer then called him crazy and that he fucked up with his brain which showed that Holden is very good in manipulating or that he could be even more dangerous than that killer if he lost his way. Also, while watching the show, i was thinking that he is the only character that we haven't seen any emotions from. Like i said above, i was craving for him to show even anger, sadness or anything else. We had Bill and Wendy, showing how stressed for ex, they were feeling from their relationships, their lives, their families, but with Holden, we did not get to see any emotion even when he was with his girlfriend. Again, after their break up twice, he did not show any emotion, because maybe he did not care so much. And it is funny because before breaking up, she told him that he was not the man with the suit she met that night, and maybe that shows that he was acting the day she met him, or that he did not show any sides of himself being a narcissist. I mean it could be very difficult for him to be in a relationship and show any emotional support to his partner while having that disorder. Because, he would have to put someone else on his place and give them attention. Also, the scene when they were having sex with his girlfriend, and she was wearing the same shoes that Holden bought to that killer, ( for a minute, i thought that they were gonna make him finish and that would be very creepy, because it would imply that he would feel pleasure from that shoe ) but i think that form that scene, we managed to understand that Holden chose to not take that road of becoming like the killer ( in general those men) and said no. And when he said to his girlfriend that " This is not you" i think he was mostly telling that to himself. Because she did not know anything about the shoes. He knew though. So, the phrase could be him gaslighting himself by making his girlfriend feeling guilty about it. It was a simple scene that showed how close was Holden to become like them. Because he too was feeling pleasure like them, but he chose not to become them.
