I Ate My Axolotl
Вставка
- Опубліковано 19 бер 2023
- This week's cake is one of the most requested cakes of all the cakes that have ever been requested! I had a lot of challenges to overcome with this axolotl cake, but I'm really happy with the way it came out. How do you think I did?

I just realized she's one of few artists that can chug their paint water and be fine bc it's food safe
yeah!
i didn’t realizee omg lmaoo
lol
Omg yh
😂
I love how she doesn't give up and still makes the idea work even tho she thought she messed up
"• 69 yr ago" nice
@@SG-tq2vy yeah lol, soon enough this comment will be 69 years old
Wow def don’t see 1 hour ago next to 69 years ago
Why it say 69 yr ago?
@@jmanimals8903 That's the person's channel name :) Next to it you can see "1h ago"
My favorite part is when you sculpt with the modeling chocolate. It looks so bland at first and I think "how can anyone turn that into something?" but then you do, and it's like magic! My second favorite part is the painting though.
Same! But for a diff. reason.
@@StarryStarryMoonlight nice. why?
Same
my second favret is the panting two! but my first favorite is is the cake cutting😅
Husband Dave should have his own channel showing how he makes the cakes you decorate!
You mean video, what’s the point I a while Chanel with the sake recipe?
‘Do you were clothes, or know someone who does’ gets me laughing every time 😂😂😂
Me too lol. It’s an amazing advertisement. This time I was so used to it “no I don’t wear clothes, I wear garments”. 😂 It was just a random thought going through my mind.
Me too! It's so cute!
Yeah lol it caches me of gard every time 😂

Axolotls are my fav animal
She's soo talented AND practised
Lmao ikr
# sideserf cake studio 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
agree!!!
it's funny because those two words kind of mean the opposite
she's just practiced, not talented
@@qwerty_qwerty Well, in my opinion she already has a natural talent and gets better at it by practicing :)
I cant wait for when she makes a hyperrealistic cake disguised as a cake 💕😂
And what did you think of it?
She already did
@@epic7224 this comment was before she did
Same
She did.
This might just be my favourite ☺️ very well done! So cute. You're Super talented. Be blessed 🙏
The editing has gotten SO much better!! The little transitions in between just add a little extra touch to this already amazing video.
Thank you so much!! 💚
@WindyPlaz she doesn't make cakes just on Mondays. I believe she works on a cake the entire week or more but only uploads the videos on Mondays since that her posting schedule. 🍰😊
@WindyPlaz Idk..?
@WindyPlaz maybe bc she doesn’t have to go to school-? lmao! it’s fine, you can always watch the vid after you go home/do your homework :)
@WindyPlaz Wdym more watchers?
Fun fact! The axolotl's "little fluffy bits" are the gills that it uses to breathe. Most aquatic animals have them on the inside where organs should be but the axolotl is a funky little creature.
She litteraly said gills in the video 5 sec before she said" feathery looking bits"...
I have an axolotl
I know I think that makes them look cute ☺
Another fun fact is that the reason they have their gills on the outside is because they actually evolved to not mature fully! The axolotl used to be a salamander, but they evolved to take up an aquatic niche and so had no need to internalize their gills.
I like how she never gave up,and the cake looks so cute and it would trick me if I just saw a photo. Your channel and cakes are the best 💚💚
I want to thank you for all your videos, your sunny, disposition, and sharing your talent with all of us. Watching your videos and shorts, are one of the ways my teenage daughter and I sit and bond together by trying to recreate some of the cakes you make. They turn-out so scary looking 99% of the time but the memories we've created doing so, are priceless. Thank you so much ❤❤❤
Keep up the good job, you’re a real example of why we should practice things to master them! By the way my favorite part of you making cakes is when you roll the modeling chocolate with the rolling pin like it’s just so satisfying to see that large piece turn into one flat piece it reminds me of playing with play dough
(Also can we get a bookshelf cake?)
I second this, bookshelf cake would be cool! Maybe even with reading glasses or a bookmark or an inkpot and quill... so many opportunities! :D
I third this! A bookshelf cake would be awesome:)
i fourth this. it's a good idea. with books inside?
@@BiyanLintang Adding books in the shelf sounds great but let’s trust Natalie’s creativity for this
This is creepily realistic but awesome!! 💕
I’m so glad she made this she is such a great artists I feel like axolotls are not as recognized as other animals! I love axolotls and Natalie! ❤❤
Same
SAME!!!
I like Natalie more 😀
“Let’s celebrate by cutting off his head!”
That was so uncalled for and I love it.
I showed it to my sisters without telling them it was a cake and they thought it was a real axolotl!! Natalie your sculpting and painting is phenomenal as usual
I love her voice! It’s so perfect for entertainment
"Lets celebrate by chopping off his head!" One of many amazing quotes
Thank you so much for making this cake! I’m really happy with how it turned out. My favorite part of Cake Sculpting is putting in all the little details
POV: you didn’t know Natalie before this video and were horrified by the thumbnail. 😂
Btw I would love to see a hyper realistic cake out of anything but cake, it might be a bit of a challenge but definitely pretty cool. ☺️
😂
Same I only just saw this vid I'm horrified by the thumbnail
same, i was like: "WTH WHY WOULD YOU *EAT* AN AXOLOTL!?!?" i was scared for a sec. 😅
I watch aquarium info, who has an axolotl or two, and the thumbnail looks like something they would have so i had a heart attack
E😂pop😂t HD a azaccardi
This Axolotl cake is so cute!!!
7:10 now that was the most satisfying part of the video
My favorite part is the same as husband Dave especially on the sandwich cake because you could just like swoosh down on the cardboard modelling chocolate *chefs kiss* 🤌
Most satisfying part of your cake videos is 'THE CUTTING ' 😋😋
Ya
yesssss
WOW! This cake was STUNNING! Thank you SO MUCH for making cakes all these years for us!
Also, my favorite part when you make cakes is the painting! It's so satisfying!
when you carve faces and what not in molding chocolate is so freaking satisfying!!
I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to run into your channel. I’ve only watched this video and a short and I instantly subbed. I love everything about you, especially your narrating. You’re so good I thought at first I was watching a tv show!!
Hi Natalie! I love your cake videos, you are very talented and hardworking!! I remember when I subscribed, you had somewhere around 600k subscribers, and I am so proud of how far you've come! I would love to see you make an aquarium cake, with the water and everything, as you mentioned putting your cakes in water was a bad idea..
I love how she always has a funny story to tell and I love how in-between the story she explains what she is doing. It's just awsome!
9:59 OMG I died when she cut the cake especially because axolotls are endangered 😭
That "Let's celebrate by cutting of his head!!!" really came outta nowhere and caught me off gourd.
when i saw this in my subscriptions, i was pretty shocked
but when i saw it was sidesurf i had a big sigh of relief
😂
WHAT IS THAT TITLE
Exactly...I was concerned...😅
Ikr I was so scared 😱
FR
Ik
I ate my axolotl
binge watching all her vids made me want cake 😭
As someone who owns an axolotl, o would say you did so well. Like the details of the veins was a great edition to help it look translucent. If you did make one again though, I would suggest making the gills curl backwards rather than forwards. Gills curling towards the face is a sign of stress. But it still technically works as a very small percentage of axolotls have naturally curled forward gills.
One of the reasons I love Natalie so much is that she tries so hard to make everything in the cake edible!
And to me, the most satisfying part of the cake making would be either the things you and Dave like, or putting/spreading the buttercream. I just like it lol 😅😂
Great cake! I love how it turned out ❤
I LOVE AXOLOTLS!!!
Finally someone else that doesn’t call axolotls creepy.
I haven’t been watching you lately but I JUST HAD TO WATCH THE AXOLOTL!
Thank you for making this you made my day. The most satisfying part of this video to me was when you used the pocky sticks to put in the axolotl head.
Thank you if you read this.
And for your information I am subscribed and I liked this video.
Axolotls = Creepy 😊
@@jamiewilson9262 I mean they don't have eyelids but I have one so I'm used to it by now lol
There was a living pink axolotl where I used to work and I spent hours watching at it and learning a lot about them, I even drew it. The accuracy and level of detail in this is amazing. The gills (the feathery things on their heads) are a bit darker in real life, tho. One of my favorites so far
Fantastic job! I'm so impressed / in awe of your God given talents! I love how you don't shy away from possible mistakes but rather learn from them (as we all should, whatever we do!) My 6 yo grandson & I are addicted to your channel & we pray for your continued success! Keep having fun...you & your husband are a very talented team!❤
You’re definitely my favourite cake artist! You’re unique, funny, and probably filled with green buttercream 😂💚
Filled with cream alright.

The whole process is fascinating! Hard to pick out the most satisfying part. Probably actually the shot of the final product before you cut it, and then when you cut it the circle is complete. From start to finish.
My favorite part is when you add texture with modeling chocolate, by far. It's so satisfying to watch!
My child loves his stuffed axolotls! He also loved watching this video with me! Thanks, Natalie, for sharing your amazing talent with the world! 🎉🎉🎉
Natalie is SUCH A GOOD ARTIST who thinks so???
👇🏽
She is the best ever!
Oh my god, this one… Is AMAZING!!!
Thank you so much for doing my request ❤
I’m so proud how it was such a hard cake to make, but you accepted the challenge, and did it soooo realistic!!! This is a masterpiece!! this is why, we should never give up, and be patient, because with time and love, u can get a lot of practice!! ❤🎉
My favorite part of your cakes is the painting and giving texture, it’s very satisfying ✨
I’ve been impressed with hyper realistic cakes before, but this is on a whole new level!!
The pocky stick for stability is genius! Also when the cake was cute the pocky stick kinda reminded me of spine vertebrae so it made it extra cool. This cake turned out amazing! The stories you tell are interesting and it’s really cool to learn about all the thought process and detail that goes into making a cake like this. The cutting of the cake is definitely the most satisfying part for me.
LOVE YOUR CAKES NATALIEEEEE
this is definitely my favorite cake! I love so many of them but axolotls are my favorite animals, and this one looks a lot like my axolotl, lychee! you’re so talented, and the translucent skin turned out perfect!
also! if you ever do another cake of a persons head (I know its hard and takes a longgg time), could you try Harry Styles? 💚
My favorite part is the painting. I would love to see more painting!
The most satisfying bit is ever when you cut it or paint it😊
No this cake is too adorable to eat ☹️
I saw a salamander with gills on a school trip, and the teacher didn’t know if it was an axolotl, but boy it was cute! 🦎
You could make a Spinwheel-challenge!Write some cake ideas on the spinwheel and whatever is rolled, you make it!
That cake looks so good! I thought it was smart of you to build up layers of color to make the axolotl’s skin look translucent. The edible sticks were also very cool! I never thought to use them before. I might use that technique in the future, though I doubt I could ever make a cake as good as yours.
Wow I really love your cakes and this is definitely one of my favorites because I love axolotls!! We should really help to protect them and I hope you can help raise awareness😊😊
This is the first full video from this channel even tho I've been subbed for months on both accounts and im not disappointed also normal paper taste good (it's a condition I have where I like to eat none food items like glue sticks, rubbers, straws[usually paper], paper and the odd piece of plastic)
I’m already in awe of the drift wood. You’re so talented 😍
I always enjoy every episode of cake making...❤❤ from Ghana
One of my favorite satisfying moments is when she paints and it drips down the side of the cake. Love it!
“Husband Dave” lol it makes me die laughing, i love you natalie! Your super funny!😄
I can't BELIEVE how talented this woman is like WOW girl you are the best realistic came making UA-camr I've ever seen and I did watch you on NAILED IT! Keep up the good work Natalie

This was an INSANE cake!!! Keep up the great work! Congrats on 4 million subscribers!!!🎉🎉🎉
Awesome, it's been a while since you posted a video where you take us through the process of how you made the cake and what you used for each part. I love the use of pocky sticks instead tooth picks!
“let’s celebrate by cutting of his head!!” - Natalie Sidesurf 2023
I am autistic and axolotls are my special interest, all I can say is thank you so so much for doing your research it made me so happy. I wish I lived near your bakery so I could request a firefly axolotl cake.
Who else agrees she’s the best?
👇🏵
Hey there natalie i would love to tell you that i took some inspiration from your video's and i decided to make a funny fiels like you mentioned in your video. so ill share with you my favorite one: a funny story in my funny files is that when i was a kid my siblings and i used to think that my mother wouldn't brush her teeth because we never saw her do that, so i was wondering if you could make a cake of a toothbrush, a tube of toothpaste and for an extra challenge - flows.
i would love to see you make it!!! thank you so much!❤❤❤
I love himmmm 🥰🥰🥰
Also! Speaking of pink animals, it made me think of how cool a hairless cat would look in cake form
I like that idea
The pocky sticks were genius! The painting did look really good. I was wondering how you'd make some cakes look translucent.
Your favorite cake flavor is almost the same as mine. I just like chocolate frosting instead (although peanut butter frosting is delicious). No such thing as too much chocolate!
The most satisfying part for me is the painting over textures as well. It looks natural and like it paints itself. Very cool.
It looks awesome!
They are so adorable!
The whole process is so satisfying! From idea to completion cut!
Natalie u are amazing!🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤🎨🎨🎨
my favorite part of the cake making is being able to eat it at the end :)
You should make a Bearded Dragon cake, they have so many bumps and ridges and spikes you could add!
Yesssss!
Looks so realistic I still couldn't tell it was Cake even after you cut it
🤣😂
In reference to axolotls being “juvenile salamanders,” I’d love to teach everyone that the proper term for a species which loses its ability to metamorphose into an “adult” form is “neotenous”. So it’s a neotenous salamander.
This isn’t mean spirited or anything by the way, love the cake and everything else. I just like biology and the term “neotenous”.
I used to watch Taxes cakes on TLC it was my favorite show but didn't knew you also have UA-cam channel. But after knowing it I'm very happy ❤
This is art !!!
If u don't like this coment then yall think axolotls are ugly so like this coment if u like them to make every axolotl in the world happy 😊
I don't think I've ever been so sad to see a cake being cut😭😅 great job so cute, the eyes and face were perfect
The end result looks fantastic! 😃👏👏👏
Good job making it. it was so beautiful when you’re finished it❤
Out of all your content, I believe this one is my favourite. I've been watching it over and over again these past days... I mean, how cute and alive it looks! 😅
You did such a great job!
At the beginning when she cut the snake my heart skipped a beat 😂
I appreciate the extra watermarking in the form of showing her logo a bunch, which also advertises things like the mug
I like the moment when you are cutting the cake, the painting and cutting the modeling chocolate is satisfying too tho
My favorite part of your process is when you actually cut into the crude cakes, just after frostin' 'em.
Does cutting the cake count as my favorite part of watching you make the cake lol it’s just so satisfying to watch
You're so lively and fun! I'm gonna watch more of your videos now. They're so entertaining ❤
"Lets celebrate by cutting off his head!" 😂😂
if i were to make the cake, i think i would have painted it with a light layer of gelatin to make it look a bit seethrough but you did a really good job.
Axolotl is one of my favourite animals, seeing this cake made me really happy.
Axolotls are my favorite animals , I'm So GLAD that you made a axolotl cake! I watch you every single day and time to time , I'll check like Did she upload , then I would get upset when she didn't upload in 1 sec s, so then go to her vids watch her old vids and most recently ❤️
