I like how each SM UA-camr have their own unique style in Survival. kAN does very optimized creations, always attempting to automate everything and designing every single step beforehand to ensure his creations are smooth like clockwork. Scrap Man plays it very steadily, never skipping steps and doing everything in the order it was intended, ocassionaly messing with the mechanics of the game without losing pace. JohnBane designs everything down to the block, measuring and planning each centimeter of their base and committing to it like it was a real world piece of architecture. Squiddy likes to fool around with unconventional creations and comically impractical choices, always having a ball with each machine. Then there's Moonbo, who plays it smart and neglects the order of events, always milking the power of every tool at his disposal while making his creations as aesthetically pleasing and versatile as possible. It really shows how varied and open this gamemode really is.
Just a note, on IRL flatbed trucks with an extra trailer, the trailer tends to have a set of wheels at the front and at the rear. The front wheels also tend to be on a pivoting bogey, to help with turning. Though making the trailer an odd width would also help. The design you went with works surprisingly well though.
Love that truck, I'll eventually get to building one for myself. The reason you were shooting the edge of the collector was you loaded the front first that lowered the suspension so it was too low. I think they should adjust it so if the collector lights up and opens then it should work no matter where the pump is.
Sadly, it's still a buggy game. I lost an entire row of tomatoes because, even though it was engaged (pulled in and lit up), it wasn't accepting the tomatoes. It prevented the other two from firing like normal, and the other two were accepted correctly into their slots, but none of the 100 tomatoes counted :( (I was busy fiddling with my trailer, didn't realize nothing was coming out)
FOR anyone who own scrap mechanic and want to try something fun do what im about to say. step 1 get on highest point of a building, step 2 build a platform and put big ramp block that you find on top of warehouse with the thin part facing up and make 2 row of4-5 facing the same way not each other, step 3 jump in between the 2 row of ramp, step 4 by now you should be shaking a lot, final step if the thing has not happened yet remove the one ramp in front of you. and have fun
Concerning the packing stations, your second thought is right. You don't need to have it jammed up right against it. You can have a little bit of distance (relatively anywhere in the square) and it will accept the fruit. I've noticed in my own game that if it's jammed up against it, it has a tendency to fail, especially on the first and second slots of the packing station.
When you shoot the vegies into the packager. Use a soft shock. If it pushes the vehicle away to far it will bounce off and un attach. A shock will give it some bounce and leway. 18:40 you can see the receiver was activated but the other visuals were not. Go off the lights, arrow and pump for visual conformation. Look at the color arrow above the receiver, it changes from green to blue. The receiver lights up and the pump will be blue. It won't change and the pump it self will have a red X if it's not ready or you have nothing for it. If you watch the glass chute you can see a vegi go through the tube. Just a cool animation but I wouldn't trust that. It may not be the right vegi that goes through the tube but don't worry. It's the 1st slot that goes through but only the correct veg will shoot. Something I just thought of. Add a swing arm (2-4 blocks long) on a button or switch. You line up best you can then swing the arm out and start driving yourself up. Will get you the exact distance. Line up the pump. Extend the piston, perfect every time. Of course the shock will absorb any bounce and perfect every time. Could even use the swing arm to help line up the pump as well but I would probably set my swing arm farther forward. I always end up to close and it pushes my truck away.
I believe the thing the packing station inputs are doing is showing 'you're too close' and not 'connected' like I thought at first too in my game. So i also lost a bunch of crops.. so now I just make sure I'm around 1 block from the input and that I'm squared up with my vehicle. Big fan btw.. keep it up 👌
Omg your watering method is so simple. Genius I love it @Moonbo You can revolve the other craftbot. I have the same setup. Its even in the same spot. Try it.
Put a couple chests at each packing station and put pipes directly into the produce collectors and put some pumps so you can put each type into its designated chest
It could be interesting to see the effect the spud shotgun has on a cardboard wall Possibly test it at different ranges? [Cardboard, glass, bubble blocks, any breakable block, cardboard is just cheap] Edit: spelling error "catdboard"
Your truck pulls to the left because it's even width and the trailer connection is odd width (thus not centered). When the trailer is empty, it's light and as such has no effect. But when you load it up with crates it's heavy enough to affect the truck.
It seems the two packing stations might go at different levels. Might also be a good idea when doing large runs to bring a little extra just in case some is wasted. The setup is great nonetheless. 👍
Did you know: When two trailers are coupled together the second and later trailers need a so called dolly to be attached Its basically just 1 or 2 axles on a frame with a trailer coupling up top and a Bolt coupling on the front
If you put a stack of blocks in the first slot in your chest it will place the block instead of wasting produce it also shows a ghost block to help alignment
You know when you are lined up and ready to input fruits/veg when the sucking up part of the station expands a bit and shrinks back slight as well. Plus does a slight flash on the storage box
Oh and it auto stops when you have none of the product left. As long as you are aligned correctly. That first one you did did not have it aligned correct so you shot it out. It'll show red when you are out and vacuum pump won't shoot
@@HarlesBently slightly buggy though. Fired in an entire row of tomatoes yesterday, was busy fiddling, didn't notice no crates were coming out. Engaged correctly, didn't fire the other veggies in the chest like normal, and the other inputs took theirs normally, but no tomato crates. Worked when I did it again with only tomatoes.
It is pulling to the left for the same reason I told you about on another video. You need 1 block between your wheels. It is coming back and the two axles are interacting with one anohter, the wheels... specifically... When you have 2 rollers rolling the same direction, they are actually opposite of the other. ie: If you number gears where the starter has a number 1, then you add 1 for every connection. or just go 1 and 2. or even x and y, a and b... that gives you an easy overview of which direction something will go in relation to another if you did it right; hard to mess up... The wheels are contacting one another and applying the brakes, essentially.
Actually, it may have been someone else, but the axle was rotating until you fixed the bearing. Didn't actually see it rotating the wrong direction until the hill... And wow, I haven't seen that type of scenery in my survival game yet with a near vertical wheat farm... wow.
Also, some of my earlier creations are weird.. bearings do not go in the correct direction for me at all.. In creative, they seem to work and the direction indicated works... but in survival I have to have the bearings rotate toward the red.. and some toward blue... and this is with me placing them all on the same side, the same way.
Would you be willing to modify the truck so the bed is sitting on 2 caution blocks to allow you to hotswap truck bodies? So for crate runs you could have the stakeside, but for say, logging runs you could do the same thing for the trailer, and have stakes that connect so you could haul uncut redwoods. Maybe even have a survival body, a small enclosed base with a craft bot at the front. Heck, when you aquire some mountable spud guns, you could make a defense body.
That farm bot was staying there weirdly because you had sawblades attached to your truck. They farm bots are kind of "scared" of drills and sawblades, and dont go near them, even if they arent spinning. (Feel free to slam me for being wrong in comments if I am)

I know this is a year later but if you move the wheel set on the trailer forward and under the center of the load you will take and reduce the tongue weight on you hitch, you will then be able to steer better and the trailer will follow better too.
