This is my audition short for the live action of MULAN.
I don't posses the means of a big studio, I just made this with my savings and a group of wonderfully talented people that worked hard on this. So please be kind and spread the love if you liked it!
A legend is born...
My name is Diva CAM but in my heart I am Mulan.
The very moment Disney announced the live-action adaptation of 1998 animation Mulan, I’ve been on the look-out for the casting and in that time I wrote and prepared this short / teaser trailer / demo to prove myself in addition to my audition.
MULAN is going to be so much more than just another blockbuster, the fact that only an infinitely small amount of Asian actors get to play a lead already proves that this is going to be a unique opportunity for an Asian actress like myself. Not only will this be a personal victory, it will be a global one. Mulan is a beautiful, strong and creative character, she will be the embodiment of courage for so many and a representative of Asian culture.
I have studied and trained for the part and I understand the responsibility I will have portraying her but it would bring me great honor to become the legend Mulan.

I'm American. but mulan was one of my most beloved Disney princesses. I looked up to her most for her bravery and courage and strength. I am so excited for this!!!
Why the "I'm American" part at the beginning? What does that have to do with Mulan?
alexsong012 Mulan lived in the Han dynasty in China, before the Americas were even known to anyone besides the natives. She never lived in the US. She wasn't American, regardless of race.

I remember back then, watching this wishing you will be selected for the Mulan Live action. Your team and yourself did an amazing job! After re-watching it, I still see all the effort and heart put in it!

That awkward moment when this has a way better plot, cast and music than the actual Disney's Mulan. Still coming back to this after three years to say that I'm glad Diva was not chosen to star in that trainwreck of a disgrace remake.

I found this video right after watching the official disney one, and I have ro say you did such an amazing job here! I'm so disappointed by the new release but in this video you portray all the strenght of the character and give the perfect atmosphere for such a film.

Milan is one of my favorite "princesses." She is the true body of what a little girls role model should be. Beautiful, graceful, intelligent, and also strong, brave, and honorable. No singing to birds and waiting for the prince to arrive. I SO want to see her come alive!

I admit I was super excited thinking that they had cast Mulan and this was going to be a teaser trailer for the movie! But then I realized it was sadly only a fan made film. We need to make this real people! Diva Cam would be an awesome Mulan.

I clicked on this thinking it was the real live action trailer for a feature length film XD you did such a good job! it wasnt until the credits started rolling that i realised it wasnt! Either way~ i hope you get the part as mulan! you look so much like her and also youre acting is right on point :D Mulan is my favorite story and disney animation, though i knew of the original story from china before the disney story i still loved the disney one~ here it looks like you mixed both together :D so as a fan of Mulan i would be super happy of you got the part and was able to contribute to the live action~

You're so talented to make a teaser like this on your own! I think the action part could look much better if you speed up and down couple of scenes, and use more sound effects but Disney would do that job for you anyway if you're in their cast! well made!

Ok so I just watched a teaser trailer for Mulan 2020 and some way i ended up here. I was confused for a minute and when I saw this was from 2017 I tried finding it so I could watch the 2017 Mulan. After not finding it I came back to here only to be disappointed in finding out this was an audition. I really wanted to watch this Mulan. This audition was soooo good. To bad Disney missed out on you. You have a new subscriber. Will be watching out for your work

wow, i actually thought this WAS the tailor, I'm not denying that you embodied Fa Mulan awesomely but I did not like the make up in the beginning,p. Other than that I genuinely enjoyed this video, the fighting chorography was dam good, the horse kiss was super cute (can't wait to see that chemistry on film) and the passion you have for this role not only empresses me and I'm sure alot of others too but I just love the fact that you're of Chinese ethnicity, so that's a must MUST to play my child hood hero. ( not to sound racist, I'm 100% Chinese and I'm not playing that "put any -ese and make it Mulan" thing that Disney/or just TV is doing, I mean come on Jamie Chung is Korean/American... KOREAN!?!) but uh yea put my vote in! now! whoever's job that is!

I don't think she should've, not because she's a bad actor, just because Adam and Eddy twisted Mulan's character way too much. Even her armour has zero resemblance to Ancient Chinese armour.
