Nice washer. I've been using cabrio for years and the new ones are getting better. Also they are easy to fix. The upper frame that holds the suspension is a strong metal square frame, not like Samsung that have it plastic and can't handle the stress of heavy loads.
I've been using this type of washer now for about six years. The best washer I've ever owned. It can easily wash 40 white T shirts in one load or five queen size sheets with six pillow cases and six pillow liners in one load.
I saw this video when it was new, and I had always wanted to see inside these new models when they got released. Then I saw this. A video of that machine! Perfect to fill my obsession with washers. even if I will never stray from speed queen, I still enjoy stuff like this.
Thanks for the video - you have just shown me how nasty and harsh that little agitator is - I noticed that mine is making rags out of my laundry. I've had mine - WTW8000DW for just about a month. I have resorted to using my wringer washer for washing and rinsing... and then doing a final wash spin cycle in the Cabrio. I am trying to find out how to just do a spin - I do a lot of hand washing and need to just spin and I want to starch my curtains but not rinse out the starch - I just want to gently spin them. My new machine is disgusting me so much - the one thing I appreciate is that I can do my king size comforters or two dog blankets at once. I use a bulky setting which supposedly puts deep water for it to wash. I noticed that my king size quilt is getting paper thin in the center from that severe sharp agitator. It reminds me of when someone would take their knuckles and rub the top of my head - that was very painful. The lid on my machine is tinted to hide the actual process of how it supposedly washes the clothes. Some items pill - form terrible little balls and that is the fabric being ripped off. I have had my sheets totally twisted into a very small package that I had to keep pulling like trick present to open an get apart- like one of those folded dollar bills. My king size blanket comes out with white streaks where the soap did not rinse out. The necks on my sons and husband's t shirts look like someone yanked on them. The most informative part of your video for me was how that agitator works - it confirms my worst fears about my machine. I may warn you to turn all of your clothes inside out to wash the nasties and protect any decals that could get scraped off. That is a general tip - for any washer... it also protects them if you use a dryer. Invest in a fifty dollar wringer washer - old school is the best for soaking and washing. I am getting more satisfaction out of mine than the Cabrio - if it could spin.
Yes. Surprisingly, it does! If you've got really soiled clothes take advantage of the Steam Assist and Presoak options. I found that the Bulky/Sheets-Normal or Deep Water cycles works best with jeans. We are a family of 3 in our household, so our loads tend to be small. The reason I bought this washer was because we have king size comforters. Plus it's High Efficiency for our small loads. I'm usually in uniforms most of the time. I have very little clothes to begin with. Lol! I've told people before, you can't go wrong with a front loader! Especially if you have large families and are constantly washing large loads of laundry. I will be posting my sister's king size comforter soon! Thanks for watching and subscribing!
CruellaUrsula agree these machines do best with smaller loads.. in the long run the propeller agitators friction will begin to damage the clothes... as for a comforter or large load of bath towels It will just freshen them not really wash them
marcus markus Absolutely wrong. When you use the bulky cycle to wash comforters, this machine will fill up with water, totally immersing it. I've wash the comforters in my household in this type of washer many times. Works great. Towels turn out very clean as well. Seven bath towels and assortment of hand towels and wash cloths all in one load.
+Native722: That is exactly when I bought it! Black Friday 2014. They had just came out and no one had them in a show room yet. Every major appliance store had some in there warehouses except Lowe's. Lowe's on the other hand, sold them the cheapest. That's where I got mine at. If you can wait until Black Friday week, do it.
Just wanted to say I bought a Cabrio 2 days ago...and people say "it's loud" NO ! It's doesn't clean well "NO" these posts are very humorous...machine is awesome...read about it do your homework USE THE CORRECT CYCLE don't be a door knob...lol...Whirlpool hasn't been in business all these years making garbage people...lol...I see all these poor reviews...the TRUTH is its a great machine for a reasonable price I paid $519.00 @ Lowes..and for the $$$ PERFECT !!
I'm glad yours is working well for you. but those if us who have fought with ours and have had service calls again and again, deal with it being off-balance even on light loads of undergarments, etc, don't appreciate someone who JUST BOUGHT ONE calling us names. Good for you. For your sake, I hope your machine doesn't start acting up like mine did.
You what I find funny? No one ever post a video of these machines washing a full compacity load or a queen size comforter. Why? Because these machines can't handle an actual load of laundry. 55 mins to half ass clean a small load.
Hey, did the high speed spin option end up doing low when you paused the machine at Amy time? Because I have always saw the spin cycle having that stupid glitch like it was programmed into the machine… let me know what you have witnessed…
Mila Patrick: It's holding up. Thee only issue I had, was the water temperature gauge was shot within a year of service. My warranty covered it. It'll be 2 years old at my house this Christmas Eve.
+Irishman 1776: Lol! Thanks! I knew what I was getting into when I bought this machine. For now, I'm really enjoying it. Yes, I do intend to buy a Speed Queen in the future.
Great video! I'm planning to buy this style of washer real soon. I was thinking about getting one with a clear top like this but after watching this video and seeing that you put something in the lid lock area, I may just try to do something like that when I want to see what the washer is doing. What was that green thing? A game board piece? Clever idea. :)
+Geoff Carroll Because it takes WATER to clean. My Maytag (which is from the 1970's) uses 22 gallons of water full cycle, and also takes 30 minutes. This piece of shit uses no water, and more electricity. Hmmmmmmm. How so High Efficient?
+Lynn Houston, I show you how to do it at the beginning of the first video, of the whites cycle. If your washer is an older model, it's basically the same concept only at the front. Where the lid lock pops out. You just need to tape down a strong enough magnet on the right side of where the latch pops out.
Saludos...
CruellaUrsula, why the spining it's so slow and full of water??? I buy this washer yesterday I my wife think the the spining it's not fast enough, so we put powder soup and at the end of the sycle the powder was all over the clothes. I'm so mad at this machine, lol
JUAN CARLOS VAZQUEZ . Well if you were dumb enough to put powdered SOUP in the washer, no wonder you had problems, meathead..Only good for Fucking and nothing else.
+Juan Carlos Vasquez: Always select deep water for every cycle. Never use powder detergent or Oxi, in the dispenser. Always put powder additives directly in the drum before your laundry. for medium to extra large loads, use the Bulky Sheets cycle. I hope this helps.
Would you telling which store you bought it from and how much? I'm thinking about buying this washer/dryer as well and am debating should I wait until black friday. Thanks.
To: newutubeuzr, that's normal wash time for any High Efficiency washing machine. I apologize if I got your user name wrong. As far as the model number, off the back, I don't remember if it's 8500 or 8600.
Victor Vargas , Victor, because they are made cheap. Plastic clutch assemblies, etc. Pathetic. All their engineers should be taken out and shot firing squad style
Well, a year later, I like my speed queen, BUT it rips apart my towels. I'm not sure how to stop it from happening. Any ideas? I can't feel anything sharp.
In the agitator, don't load the clothes any higher than the second, higher, hole. This will give your clothes plenty of room to move around so they won't snag. Also, what detergents are you using? I found that Clorox 2 can tear clothes up, wear them out faster. Proctor & Gamble detergents are rough on stainless steel, causing the finish to dull over time. I quit using anything made by P&G and I haven't had any problems. Hope this helps.
To Trampo Nastics: I always leave it open. Even when not recording because I love watching it work. If I'm busy with something else, I'll close the lid.
I will literally stand over the machine while it's in diagnostic mode and actually fill it with the manual mode, it's worth it because I get clothes clean in 30 minutes
Did anyone notice it took 13 minutes just for this machine to get the clothes to bloom probably? (Oh the humanity) Sometimes these machines really don't use enough water. I have an LGWT5270CW, so I should know. There is something called a saturation point. Water is what flushes, not just cleans
tell you what had my speed queen for almost 5 mouths very happy with it . had an lg washer for 8 mouths before I got speed queen not happy with it balanceing problem with sheets and blankets and running time on lg
I need to know how to fix my washer my family messed up my washer by forcing it open while it was washing now I can't get it to work help I can't afford to fix it
Hey sorry you're having problems buddy we probably have a different model I don't know ? But so far hasn't skipped a beat man...I mean for the $$$$$ I paid ...yes there's a video of a lady putting 10/11 king size towels and filled the thing to capacity water covered her load ????? I'm not sure what's up with the Cabrio....mine must've been made on a Tuesday or Thursday.... Lol..not on a Monday or Friday ??????
got mine at best buy for $340 tax included, because someone returned it for being too loud? been using it ever since and im glad i got it!, its not even close to loud!, thing is quiet compared to other machines.
Five years with mine. Still quiet. No repairs. I dont abuse mine by jamming a months worth of clothes in it and then getting mad because they didnt get clean
I have an earlier model of the Cabrio and I hate it. To some of the comments, it does NOT clean well - as mentioned, you need WATER to accomplish that. And yes it DOES beat (actually tear) up your clothes - especially towels, dish cloths etc. I just finished a smallish load of delicates, "med soil" level and some items were not even fully wet when done. Would have ditched long ago if the thing wasn't so expensive....#wantmyoldwasherback
why so many additives?? ... if the washer is that good then shouldn't it get the clothes super clean without the extras? I'd like to see how it does with just soap. Nothing else.
Mechanically, that sounds like a very unhappy machine. That harsh 'whirr' noise as it turns then reverses makes me think it's not going to set any longevity records. I watch the wash cycle and keep wondering is that thing supposed to actually be getting anything clean? The stuff in towards the center is barely moving at all, just slowly turning in the water.
I have a two year old Cabrio. I will NEVER buy another Maytag. It grows mold in the BLEACH and detergent dispenser and they are nearly impossible to remove. They have very sharp edges, so I can't get my fingers in there with a cloth to clean it out. I wrote to them and they were pretty rude about it all. If I could afford it, I would sell this and buy a Speed Queen---or any other brand. Plus, this goes off balance on anything heavier than sheets. It is large capacity gotten so I can wash my king size lightweight comforters. Something they assured me it could do. It did the first time or two. Now it goes off balance constantly. I have severe arthritis in my back and a torn rotator cuff, so it is nearly impossible for me to rearrange we sheets, blankets, jeans, hell, even towels go off balance. It is a POS
0:37 NO DONT PUT THE DETERGENT STRAIGHT INTO THE TUB THATS NOT GOOD FOR THIS WASHER INSTEAD PUT IT INTO THE DETERGENT DISPENSER sorry for caps i was just yelling
He's probably got the wrong cycle selected...probably sani wash. My Calypso only took about an hour for the whitest whites cycle, My father has one of those front load piece so crap-2 hours for whitest whites.
I could wash and dry two loads of whites with my speed queen in the amount of time it took that machine to spin those around a little bit. What a time waster. I can't believe people actually will buy these things
+GETaYOTA They buy them because they are forced to. People can't buy Speed Queens at Lowes, Sears, Home Depot and Best Buy. Where the fuck do you get Speed Queens??
Yeah why a speed queen? Don't know how a speed queen can compete in the market. Whirlpool manufactures most of the other brands as well. Years ago I was told by one sales rep that a machine was one of the top brands. It was junk and had to get rid of it. Every 3 months it needed repair. 2 inches of water in the utlity room after each wash. Now have a different machine and it's last about 4 years - never had a problem. Got a huge deal on it as well.
They are made in the USA and manufactured like the old, reliable washers were built. No bells and whistles. No latte maker, no fancy song cycles, no Wi-Fi to tell you your laundry is done. Sometimes technology isn't that great. If something isn't broke, why fix it?
Speed Queen is the only manufacturer that makes top loaders the reliable way like everyone else used to make them. And their construction is solid - no plastic clutch assemblies or hinges or tub brackets. None of that Mickey Mouse nonsense
Because you can wash a really dirty load of laundry in less than 30 minutes and have it come out clean the first time around, well rinsed, best warranty in the business (that alone is worth it), clothes are covered in water, hot water isn't dumbed down, and it doesn't sing nauseating cute little tunes, it doesn't need to talk to my I-phone, you can use whatever detergent you want, and it sounds and looks like a real no bells no whistles washer is supposed to look and function like. That should about do it.
these new HI tech machines seems not to be able to work as well as the older machines, one of the major problems i find with them is that they do not wash the clothes as clean as the older machines and they take such a long time to wash one load of clothes, I regret getting rid of my older Kenmore commercial washer, should have tried to fix it.
What is this thing doing? It's not even washing the fucking clothes. This is a complete joke. If you buy one of these you're a dummy! I'm set on a Speed Queen top loader.
Nice washer. I've been using cabrio for years and the new ones are getting better. Also they are easy to fix. The upper frame that holds the suspension is a strong metal square frame, not like Samsung that have it plastic and can't handle the stress of heavy loads.

Not to get confused this is a top loader, but I'm sure that's what you meant.
marcus markus Absolutely wrong. When you use the bulky cycle to wash comforters, this machine will fill up with water, totally immersing it. Do you like your Whirlpool Cabrio? How long have you had it
+Jerome Davis What is truly disgusting is the fact that you admit you wash your dad's underwear. I can only presume its required in lieu of cash rent.
+Native722: That is exactly when I bought it! Black Friday 2014. They had just came out and no one had them in a show room yet. Every major appliance store had some in there warehouses except Lowe's. I actually posted a video of my Samsung top loader handling a King Size comforter. :P
Looks more like it would only kinda polish a couple spots on something the size of a comforter.
@thunder9932 I've had mine five years. Do full loads in it and no problems. People just dont like new technology
Hey, did the high speed spin option end up doing low when you paused the machine at Amy time? Because I have always saw the spin cycle having that stupid glitch like it was programmed into the machine… let me know what you have witnessed…
How do you by pass the lid lock? Thanks! :)
It looks like it does a good job of tying your clothes into knots!! But I guess the knots are clean!
Great video! I'm planning to buy this style of washer real soon. I was thinking about getting one with a clear top like this but after watching this video and seeing that you put something in the lid lock area, I may just try to do something like that when I want to see what the washer is doing. So I'm guessing you don't plan on having clean clothes.
Hey nice vid enjoyed it
Your whites are really white so your doing something right!
Hope to see more vids soon
Take care
Two hours and 13 minutes to wash a load of whites? That's crazy.
It doesn't wash them, it wears the dirt off of them.
I am not convinced these units clean well.
+canadaeast How so?
+Geoff Carroll Because it takes WATER to clean. My Maytag (which is from the 1970's) uses 22 gallons of water full cycle, and also takes 30 minutes. This piece of shit uses no water, and more electricity. Hmmmmmmm. How so High Efficient?
+Hella Good cleaning = temperature, detergent and agitation. where is water in the cleaning cycle?
+canadaeast , They clean ok, but they DO NOT FINISH RINSE WELL. The HE dishwashers have the same problem
+BroccoliBeefed I agree with you! I have to run the extra rinse or there is still soap residue on my clothes.
+Xavier Himes: Lol! That last message about delicates was in response to your question. I forgot to post your user name.
+Lynn Houston, I show you how to do it at the beginning of the first video, of the whites cycle. If your washer is an older model, it's basically the same concept only at the front. Where the lid lock pops out. You just need to tape down a strong enough magnet on the right side of where the latch pops out.
+Anita Russum: That's normal time for whites on all HE washing machines. When adding all the bells and whistles.
+Barbera Mazzocca: Try splitting tbe load in half, large load, and use more than enough water on Delicate cycle.
Did that timer really have two hours and one minuet on it???

CruellaUrsula, why the spining it's so slow and full of water???
I buy this washer yesterday I my wife think the the spining it's not fast enough, so we put powder soup and at the end of the sycle the powder was all over the clothes.
I'm so mad at this machine, lol
JUAN CARLOS VAZQUEZ . Well if you were dumb enough to put powdered SOUP in the washer, no wonder you had problems, meathead..Only good for Fucking and nothing else.
Powdered soup, that's using his noodle.

Yeah why are you advising not to put powder in the dispenser? I've put powder in the dispenser and haven't had a problem.
Because he doesn't know you can take the insert out.
Direct drive.
+Tare Benjamin; Yes! That's a recent addition to Whirlpool. Thee 8700 model.
It sounds like it is grinding up the clothes. lol
It sounds like it's grinding up the drive for that little whirligig in the bottom.
Lolololol
we just got the same washer. but we're not sure if the noise is normal. it sounds like the bearings are bad
Victor Vargas , Victor, because they are made cheap. Plastic clutch assemblies, etc. Pathetic. All their engineers should be taken out and shot firing squad style
also ive heard there is an even more vigorous agitation that is also louder in the vid called "whirlpool NEW touchscreen washer loud noise"
Not with the softener though! After bleaching and thorough rinsing, you need to add more than enough softener. I have really hard water where I live.
Exactly, which model number is yours? I'm researching wtw8000bw 4.3 cu ft.
Well, a year later, I like my speed queen, BUT it rips apart my towels. I'm not sure how to stop it from happening. Any ideas? I can't feel anything sharp.
Don't overload it. I have one and never load my clothes past the 2nd hole in the agitator. Hope this helps.
Are the holes in the actual agitator or are you talking about holes in the basket?
In the agitator, don't load the clothes any higher than the second, higher, hole. This will give your clothes plenty of room to move around so they won't snag.

Is this a direct drive it sounds like it to me
What I washed on delicate was one tome a couple of doilies. Another time my underwear. And yes, I do like my washing machine.
To Trampo Nastics: I always leave it open. Even when not recording because I love watching it work. If I'm busy with something else, I'll close the lid.

There is something called a saturation point. Water is what flushes, not just cleans
+Tracey Browne; Yes, I did give it one rinse before the main wash.
What are the pink spots on the agitator.
Awwwwwe! I love Mickey Mouse!
Yes it did. The full cycle was 2 hrs and 13 mins.
how long have you had your Whirlpool Cabrio
I've had it since Christmas eve 2014.
+CruellaUrsula I think your washer is interesting
+CruellaUrsula what did you wash on the delicate cycle never saw that video
So is a six car pileup.
You just convinced me to buy a speed queen.
+Barbara Mazzocca happy with my speed queen 2015 washer
+Dewey Jacks that's why I like my speed queen washer
Best comment ever!
tell you what had my speed queen for almost 5 mouths very happy with it . had an lg washer for 8 mouths before I got speed queen not happy with it balanceing problem with sheets and blankets and running time on lg
Barbara Mazzocca love
i notice in the whirlpool webside that they launch a new model of this washer with wifi and smart phone progam
So you can take pictures of your dirty clothes and sent them to Maytag.
townhall05446 maybe haha most washer are like tht now
+Canadaeast; That's normal for HE washing machines. Top or front load. Most of that time is soak time.
+Victor Vargas: Yes. That sound is normal. No worries!
Best washer I've ever owned
Best washer but worst clothes
very nice washing machine!
More videos of this please!!!!!!
KEVINVILLE34 , LOL, they are Kenmore washers! Them and LG actually.
This is an abbormaly small amount of laundry considering the size is 5 cuft
When your not filming videos do you always keep the lid open or is it only for videos
I need to know how to fix my washer my family messed up my washer by forcing it open while it was washing now I can't get it to work help I can't afford to fix it
did you ever get your washer fixed?
Let them wear dirty clothes. That'll teach 'em.
Hey sorry you're having problems buddy we probably have a different model I don't know ? Why tf is it making noice it the start of the cycle
The holes on the basket.
+Quzie112; It does! Especially whites!
how's this washer holding up?
I remember being the proud owner of a Cabrio. Trust me, you'll be cursing this machine in the near future. When that happens, buy a Speed Queen.
got mine at best buy for $340 tax included, because someone returned it for being too loud? been using it ever since and im glad i got it!, its not even close to loud!, thing is quiet compared to other machines.
That can all change in a heart beat...
It's when they go from 'not loud' to 'silent'...
Five years with mine. Still quiet. No repairs. I dont abuse mine by jamming a months worth of clothes in it and then getting mad because they didnt get clean
sounds like eggs frying :)
Patricia Law you suck
why so many additives?? ... if the washer is that good then shouldn't it get the clothes super clean without the extras? I'd like to see how it does with just soap. Nothing else.
+Billy Nage: Trust me, no knots!
Wow, you used way too much detergent and softener. For that load about a 1/4 cap-full of each.
+Canadaeast; They do. Just with less water. Comforters on thee other hand, do better in a front loader!
It is a POS
+Ro Bren62 What does Cabrio have to do with Maytag?
+BroccoliBeefed My washer is a Maytag Cabrio. I guess that is the make and model. It was bought in 2012.
Ro Bren62
I thought the Cabrio was only Whirlpool's name. Usually Maytag uses Bravos
0:37 NO DONT PUT THE DETERGENT STRAIGHT INTO THE TUB THATS NOT GOOD FOR THIS WASHER INSTEAD PUT IT INTO THE DETERGENT DISPENSER sorry for caps i was just yelling
There is no reason to push the lock in a little bit
2 years ago
Whirrump whirrump goes the washing machine
+Stang Racer person 92; Yes, that's what I meant.
2.25 hours to do a wash !! No thanks !
+canadaeast speed queen all the way
He's probably got the wrong cycle selected...probably sani wash. My Calypso only took about an hour for the whitest whites cycle, My father has one of those front load piece so crap-2 hours for whitest whites.
can do a load in my speed queen top load right under 45min little less
He just wants to get the whites extremely clean, and doesn't care how long it takes.
To: Mark Fontaine, Lol! That's what my dad said too!
12:30 that’s how it supposed to work
cool
I could wash and dry two loads of whites with my speed queen in the amount of time it took that machine to spin those around a little bit. What a time waster. I can't believe people actually will buy these things
+GETaYOTA They buy them because they are forced to. People can't buy Speed Queens at Lowes, Sears, Home Depot and Best Buy. Where the fuck do you get Speed Queens??
+BroccoliBeefed used on Craigslist, or go to speed queen website and find a dealer
+BroccoliBeefed you have to get them from a private appliance store. That's how I got my speed queen awn542 model
Speed Queen is the best. I own one, wouldn't have anything else.
Must be nice to pay $2000 for a washer and dryer. Some of us are on a budget, and that washer/dryer is a good deal at less than $1000.
crikey that thing would pulverise your clothes!
You use way too much product! And it took over 2 hours to wash. That's crazy.or is it a combo?
I know lol!
+Canadaeast; In this one anyway!
Cabrio is a Piano
Get a Speed Queen or a GE!
This is a bread-maker!!! No thanks. I have Speed Queen tl washer. :)
+Patrice Levasseur I once had a rotary phone too, change is so difficult. Please give back all your technology because you do not deserve them.
Pfffttttt tu peux ben aller chier crisse de cave.
+Patrice Levasseur me to 2015 speed queen works great
It's a performance art piece... 'Scrambled Eggs Under A Waterfall"
Why so much soap>? That's enough for a months's worth
He put in about 1/4 of that measuring cup. You think its a lot?
Looks like it but I'm either using Pods or 1 TBS Mrs. Meyers concentrate detergent.
The demonstrator's use of detergent was spot on.
I'll stick to my Mrs. Meyers thank you. Incidentally, he said in the video he used a FULL cap.
This doesn't look like it cleans good it look like it wears and tears clothes .
+Y Rich: Go Speed Queen instead!
Buy a speed Queen then.
Caroline Wilson , ~That a machine? Which machine are you talking about?

Downey Unstopables.
Speed
Queen
*drops mic*
i don't know why u guys like speed qween
Because you can wash a really dirty load of laundry in less than 30 minutes and have it come out clean the first time around, well rinsed, best warranty in the business (that alone is worth it), clothes are covered in water, hot water isn't dumbed down, and it doesn't sing nauseating cute little tunes, it doesn't need to talk to my I-phone, you can use whatever detergent you want, and it sounds and looks like a real no bells no whistles washer is supposed to look and function like. That should about do it.
TheLegend27 I just get very annoyed about all these "speed queen" comments, like we get it already about the "quality" people! Like Jesus.
@@ueg790 you have no soul of any kind except hatred and boardom.
@@Blurain727 don't get near me with your nastyass clothes
these new HI tech machines seems not to be able to work as well as the older machines, one of the major problems i find with them is that they do not wash the clothes as clean as the older machines and they take such a long time to wash one load of clothes, I regret getting rid of my older Kenmore commercial washer, should have tried to fix it.
IF you filled that basket up, those clothes would never get clean!
my speed queen can do bigger load then this washer can waste of money
It has 'steam clean'.... when you get it home and see how it 'cleans', you get steamed.
I see what you mean and don't like it.
Your using too much soap
Not enough water to wash them clean
These washers waste more electricity than the old models. I have Maytag, it's a piece of junk.
What is this thing doing? It's not even washing the fucking clothes. This is a complete joke. If you buy one of these you're a dummy! I'm set on a Speed Queen top loader.
I'm surprised anything gets clean with that much detergent. Wrong way to use this machine.
