I have actually been that tired before. That's a weird feeling, it's like having lowered inhibitions as if you are drunk. The brain just plain works differently in that state. Funny things are more funny than usual or other things that can anger you normally can piss you off easier than usual... It's not actually a state of being 'more emotional', it's just that the logic and self-control side of the brain is not working at full power like it is should be during the work day.
