This helped me for my model & explanation about the moon for my science class. : )
I need help on a school project, anf this help me understand it a lot. Thank you for helping me understand it!
I'm here because an eclipse is happening in my country (South Africa) right now😂 just needed to know how it happens
Pov: this is happening now and you are curious how it work.
Great video team
Helped me to understand 👍
I saw it last night in Az it was amazing and how fast it moves took about few minuits to pass.
an eclipse is going to occur where I live on monday thanks this really helped
Nice info
I love science so much... Thank you for explaining me... I was stuck ..please make more videos 😊
Watching a lunar eclipse right now from Minnesota
So nice!
I Love Science
Thank you this is very useful (:
Yeah! Like watching these from UA-cam is way easier and helpful and has everything you wanna know! So cool!😃😊😁😏😏👍🏽
Who's has a science exam 😅😭🙌

Nice
You have a video for a Selenelion?
I learned something new😊
lol! Ive been wanting to be a astronaut because of this channel!😂
Question: why is that the shadow cast of the earth to the moon is different when compared from how it enters and how it ends..the shadow as it leaves moves from the lower portion upwards?
I just watched this because I'm curious in today's lunar eclipse
Nice man
who is watching in 2020, i just wanna tell you guys to stay safe and be positive regardless of the situation. guard your thoughts and guard your mindset. love you all!!
Thanks
thanks
im only now realizing that thats what a lunar eclipse is and i saw one around halloween of last year i think
Not me browsing for the carton version only
Tonight @1am it's happening here.😂
Cool
Okay but why do we get only 2 every year? It should be 12 isnt it?
The orbits of the celestial bodies are not totally aligned on one plane.
Today 16 july 2019 today is lunar eclipse at night. 1:31 am
Please edit the sound in the background, can't concentrate on words
why there is back ground music everywhere on the things of knowledge?
Good
its may 15 and there is a lunar eclipse
so POGGERS
The video says the change in the moon's "shadow" is based on where it is in its orbit. Moon phases aren't caused by a shadow.
So is the atmosphere mentioned that the moon passes through some of the Earth's atmosphere that's blown off due to solar wind/the sun?
No, solar wind isn’t relevant here. As the light passes through the thicker atmosphere it get refracted and bends. Think about the atmosphere like a color prism, except it bends blue, green etc, away from the shadow and only leaves red. That’s also why sunsets are red bc light has to travel through more atmosphere sideways than when it’s overhead.
So Its A Blood Moon?
TELL ME WHAT MARS OR VENUS UMBRA LOOK. LIKE
i'm here because we have this later at night. 🤣
I wondered when earth blocked the whole light how even red wavelength of light is reaching the moon !! But ... Light is wave & therefore shows the property of diffraction & therefore diffract + scattered from the edge of earth ; red wavelength reach to earth from moon 🙂
Wait, if the moon orbits the earth each month wouldn’t this happen once a month?
Very good question, but not, because the moon orbits around earth is not a perfect circle. It’s a tilted ellipse.
@@dyroc also it is tilted by 5 degrees the orbit of moon if orbit of moon was not tilted solar and lunar eclipses will happen every month
Here cause we have an eclipse in Australia
I love nasa
WHAT, so if I was on the moon, I would see a red outlined earth? That’s crazy as heel
Why is the music so loud
How do moon phases work?
The moon doesn't generate its own visible light. It is lit by the sun. When our line of sight to the moon is in the same direction as the moon from the sun, we see the entire near side of the moon illuminated, and call it a full moon. When our line of sight to the moon is in the opposite direction as the moon is from the sun, the entire near side of the moon is in the moon's own shadow, and we don't see the moon because it disappears in the daytime sky of Earth (except in the special case of a solar eclipse). We call this the new moon.
Along the way throughout its orbit, different fractions of the near side of the moon will be lit, that form the phases of the moon. The lit side of the moon always points toward the sun. When the moon is at approximately 90 degrees from the sun in the sky, half of it is lit. We either call this a half moon (indicating that half of it is illuminated), or we name it "first quarter" or "third quarter" to reflect the portion of the moon's overall cycle where we see this phase. Closer to the sun than a half moon, and the moon appears like a letter C, or a crescent moon. Farther from the sun than a half moon, and we see almost all of it illuminated, but not quite all, and we call this a Gibbous moon. Waxing means the moon is becoming more illuminated, and waning means the moon is becoming less illuminated. Waxing moons we see in the evening, and waning moons we see in the morning. Full moons we see all night long, from sunset to sunrise, where the moon does the opposite of the sun. Crescent moons are visible during the day most of the time, with only a few hours where they are visible at night.
so basically it would be an eclipse for the sun?
Moon normal colour is orange on night
Why are you showing the moon moving from west to east from the earth.
Cant Elon must send a army of drone in space and send artificial eclipse colors as advertisement for his new space x. That will look futuristic
Im here bcoz penumbral lunar eclipse is occurring in india
Ayo nasa call out to Mark Rober re hire him 😎😎😎😎
blood moon is scary cuz its a vampire moon and a zombie moon
Im 29 and Im here and had to search how the latest blood moon happens 🤣(nov. 8 2022)

I don'tknow what happened to my exams on science subjects ,I be faild ,please forgive me
Wanna know what really makes a red moon? The red army.
No wonder my moon was red 😭😭
Ain't no way the sun rotates that fast around earth!!! I literally just watched the entire eclipse from start to finish here in Florida and I'm not saying I'm a flat earther but it's starting to make more sense now!! I watched the light of the sun go from the right side, to the bottom side and then to the left side of the moon which tells me there's a pinnacle of sorts in the center of earth and the sun and moon rotate around it!! No other way that's possible!!
Exactly, I watched it here in West Texas as well with the pinnacle at 11:11 pm. Things are definitely not as they say they are...
@@jaekdagr8 : Ah, ok. However, there is nothing magical about an eclipse, either solar or lunar. They match exactly what is predicted by science.
You said "Ain't no way the sun rotates that fast around earth" but the sun doesn't rotate around the Earth... The Earth revolves around the sun, but that's not what you're seeing. Sounds like you're very confused about basic science. Nothing about "flat earth" makes sense if you know science... What you're witnessing if a combination of the Earth's rotation (with you on it) and the moon's revolution OUT OF the shadow caused by the Earth. Please, keep learning science and watching more science videos. Your comment makes no scientific sense at all.
by this logic any "shadowed" part of the moon would always be red
Not at all, it only goes red when there is a minimal amount of light. Take something that is glow in the dark, if you shine a light half way onto it you're not going to see much of it glow. Completely remove the light and it lights up. Same idea except this is a reflector that has a mainly blue/green object in front of it. Those colours are only seen when there is no other way of getting the white light from the sun.
i have science homework ;-;
Im a 8 year old watching this
Any one else watching this because you have a science assignment? 😂☹️😩😭
why doesnt it happen every month? whats the difference because im geniunely just wondering
Because the earth is round😂
Lunar eclipse happens cuz she's shouting
Get rid of the guy yapping over that beautiful musical soundtrack.
We live inside a ball.. I hate to break to everyone who loves paganism
but earth comes in between moon and sun every month, why doesn't lunar eclipse occurs then?
Because the moon’s orbit is tilted about 5deg from that of earth’s so it only occasionally is in the right spot to create eclipses.
Bs
😂😂😂😂
Wrong animation. How come the earth is rotating the same speed of the lunar orbiting? the earth rotates a way faster than the moon's circle around.
don't try to cheat on us.

Wow, your really smart, bet you have a well paid job, if not, display your academic credentials here and I might consider you for a job position at the Dunning-Kruger University of Flatardia Science.
@@ZackWolfMusic Um...no. You can prove the Earth rotates with a ring laser gyroscope, or with a Foucault pendulum. Methods that measure the Coriolis effect, that demonstrate it is rotating relative to an inertial reference frame.
