    Another good video. An A+ as always. I knew Maurice Cullen's paintings, being from the same city he was living in. But i have rarely or never seen good video's about this painter. Thank you very much.

    I tried to find out the difference between American painters and Canadian on a trip to Montreal and found that the American art was more defined and more black and white. That was in 1980, though the paintings were not well known. impressionism of course left out black as a colour.

    Would you ever consider doing a video on Francis Bacon's art? I know he was " messed up" in the head but still, his stuff is fascinating, no? I'm not certain of his standing amongst other artists but, you would!😇🙏🏻🤪💪🏻✌🏻

    • @JillPoyerdFineArt
      @JillPoyerdFineArt  Рік тому +3

      You know, I'm not personally drawn to his work but I do understand his role and complexity. Still...I'm not sure. Honestly (believe it or not) I try to avoid jarring artwork in order to maintain a certain calm to my channel. I'll think it over, though.

    • @seano1642
      @seano1642 Рік тому +2

      @@JillPoyerdFineArt No problem, you said it well, I also try to avoid jarring artwork but I have seen a lot! It only just gets worse, I don't actually seek it out, It's almost hard to avoid at this point and I believe the "World" will be getting worse by far so no need to add to that right? Arnold Shoenberg's "Red Gaze" is another "beauty" right? Lol, I've seen what schizo's and lunatics paint and draw also and some of that is so fascinating! Well thanks for replying and saying you'll consider it but I'll have to say you are totally right about his artwork and I wouldn't give it the space with all the otherwise beautiful and classic content on your site, and I mean that! I love fine art!✌🏻

    • @JillPoyerdFineArt
      @JillPoyerdFineArt  Рік тому +1

      Some of them I come across while researching for my videos or classes. Others, I see while touring an art museum. There are SO many wonderful lesser-known artists, which I can hopefully continue to present here.

    Would love to hear your opinion on the use of framing of these pieces. Do they add or subtract?

    • @JillPoyerdFineArt
      @JillPoyerdFineArt  Рік тому +2

      I really think they end up being part of the art itself. Sometimes you don't even notice the frame as it just compliments the piece. Sometimes a frame is irritating to look at and can be a distraction from the painting. Other times, the frame really makes it - it sets the painting off in such a way that it dramatically enhances the piece. I, personally, think frame selection is really important!
