- How to become a dancer as an adult in 2022! I share my dance journey, why it’s never too late to start + my top tips to learning dance as an adult. I started dancing 9 months ago at 30 and have been doing hip hop, contemporary, sensual dance/burlesque and am now learning ballet. I go over how to find a dance studio, how to let go of your fears to start, and all my top tips on improving quickly. I also have adhd / am neurodivergent, so it will be adhd friendly. :)

I love this. I turned 30 this past November and just had a near 2 1/2 year relationship end, and I feel like I'm on a mission to just be 100% me and feel empowered and confident. I want to take both dance and pole classes but am AWFUL with coordination and following choreography (also neurodivergent here!) and also have POTS, so I'm really nervous to take the leap (no dance pun intended lol) but am really going to push myself to give it a try. Thank you for being an inspiration; I follow you on TikTok, too, and love to see your progress and how far you've come. (not just with dance but your mental health as well) ❤
Hi Kim! Thank you so much for following along and sharing. It means a lot to me. Sounds like you're really ready to grow into yourself. I hear you about the obstacles and it sounds really challenging. AND I love that you're going to try. Proud of you and would love to hear how it goes if you try a class!
Love this for you and the editing. I want to dance more too I know it will help release a lot of emotions and open up my chakras lol
Yesssss it’s seriously so healing! Maybe the single most healing thing on my journey so far
these are such good tips! Looking at yourself in the mirror vs mimicking the teacher also helps you stop comparing your body to others and develop your own movement style :)
SO TRUE about comparing!! that's definitely a challenging one
Thank you so much for this video. I felt very seen. I've been always struggling with picking up choreo and follow spatial directions and those tips are super helpful!
Thanks for taking the time to comment! I’m so glad it helped :) you’re definitely not alone and I’ve talked to many amazing dancers who struggle with same things. We got this!!!
I am 42 and have never taken dance because though I can dance, I cant follow choreography….and I also lack consistency and am all over the place with ideas , classes i want to take , wanting to be and do it all….Hi! ADHD and BP disorder over here! Anyway, this is what I needed to see and hear!😊
Thank you so much for sharing this! I soooooo feel this and had / have to work work through these hurdles too. I really hope you take the leap and put your dreams over your fears. You deserve it!!! Feel free to check out my adhd community (www.authenticallyadhd.com/membership) if you want further support from me I’d be happy to talk it out with you! Love the picture of you at aerials and the picture of our old cheer group. Ill never forget the day your mom came into the computer room and told you we could do it together. I'll forever remember those days❤️
