You killed Barbie! LOL! I literally laughed out loud when you pulled that doll head out! Loved the banner and the cute golden bultterflies in the pot! Thanks for inviting me this time around!
@@CreativeontheCheap I was thinking you could have turned the Barbie head into a planter. Paint it to look like concrete, cut the head open, remove the hair and put some of the lavender or maybe wheatgrass or a succulent inside. Sort of like a chia pet/stone sculpture planter. Lol. I love all your ideas! Very creative.
😆😆😆 Oh man loved those challenge items and hearing your thoughts on the doll head🤣! The fairy garden was so cute! Thank you for inviting me to participate in the round of the Mystery Box Challenge❤️!
I always look forward to this Mystery Box Challenge episode Courtney. For the Doll Head... I would remove the hair, then paint it to look like cement, then make a hole on top of the head to make it into a planter. Just like creepy ones you would see on display at the garden centers.😄 It would be perfect to put in some mini- Faux Succulents...
Great mystery makes loved them all, my fave was the fairy garden. As for the doll head just cutting its head halfway, using caulk to paster the bottom half painting it, then add flowers and she becomes a CHIA pet lol.
Well… now everyone’s gonna be ripping doll heads off for a stand 😬 J/K I get so excited every time I see a mystery box playlist 🤗 The way you flipped those bird houses was too cute! 🐰 💐 🌸
My thought for the doll head and building blocks would be: make a base with the blocks on the block base, perform the lobotomy, and add your flowers. Loved the bunny banner.
How fun! You ladies really make this fun. The couple of Mystery Box collabs I’ve been in were so tame. I really wanted someone to send me a tough item. That’s the best part. You did a great job with your challenge items. I was thinking about your question. I would probably cut the top of Barbie’s head off to make it an open vessel. I would remove any hair left behind. Then I would paint it a solid sage green. I would smooth down the edges at the top, fill it up to almost the top with something (just to save on space). I’d use white rocks and add succulents on top. Make it a kind of Boho planter. As for the magic building blocks, I would try to find a frame to put it in or build one. I’d paint it a fun color and attach a metal flower or dragon fly or something to the center. That could also be painted a fun color depending on your decor. You did a great job with all of your items! 🌺🌿
Thank you! That’s a great idea for the Barbie head! I had been told there were some other Mystery Box Challenges out there. We can be kind of brutal in mine! 🤣 This is the 3rd year since starting it, and boy do I have some ideas for this year. 😬
I would have cut a whole in the top of Barbie's head, and inserted foam & one of the pink roses. Then gather the hair around the stem evenly. I would have curled the hair under all the way around to make either a type of bun or loose curls.
Was worried when you painted the gnome, but he turned out great! Especially with that cute bee. Was thinking the bell might have fit on the pot for a domed roof....
Great job! I was thinking you could have used the bell for the top of the gnome house but you did a great job in all of the projects. I would have used half of the dolls head and glued it onto one of those boards and painted all of it black like a painted silhouette that looks like a small child’s profile. That was a hard one!
Very cute, I really think I would have flubbed this one. When I saw what you pulled out of the box, especially the dolls head, I thought this is not going to go well. But you succeeded in making some really adorable things.I like the butterfly flower pot and the house key holders the best.🌹♥️🌹♥️🌹♥️🌹♥️
Girl I swear your amazing!!! And I thought the teal paper was like a paper rope!! I didn’t know you could unroll it!! But you got killed it again!!! And like others said I thought of a face planter!! That’s what I thought you were going to make when I was crying laughing when you opened it!! The Lego fairy garden is so cute!! I’m going to make it for my goddaughters fairy garden!!
These are so pretty! I love the bunny garland so much! I couldn’t think of anything for the Barbie head! Lol! You done a great job! The fairy garden is adorable! Thanks so much for sharing! 😊🌸🐰🥕💕
Oh my word, Courtney! Creative must really be your middle name....you have such an imagination and go beyond the regular crafts to pull out such unique and awesome items! I love the gnome and the key hooks are cute too. What would I have made with the mystery items??? I would have made some kids happy and given them the doll head and blocks to play with 🤣🤣🤣
Wow Courtney that butcher job you did on that head was “Ca-ree-py. Definitely parental advisory recommended haha 😂 This is probably my favorite series on UA-cam
The aqua material you used for the planter is called paper twist. I have a drawer full of that stuff. Really old crafting material. I loved all of your crafts. Great job.
I think for the two challenge items I would have used the doll hair as the beard on the gnome, or at least that was my first thought when I seen it. For the Build It base, it reminded me of grass, so I would have probably made a little fence around it and made it a little yard, with a bunny and carrots.
The little houses with the key chain hooks and the noun that was adorable Lord help you got me on the doll head I don’t know what Iva done with either unless you glued it on top of the terra-cotta pot And paint a little shirt 👚 I don’t know you got me on that one
Great job on the challenge items!👏 That doll head threw me too LOL 😂 Not sure how much hair was available to use as the gnomes beard? Or I would have made her into a faux cement planter and mod podged her hair down into curls than painted the hair with the rest of her to look like a cement planter with a succulent.😁🪴 It always looks like so much fun to do these challenges.🥰 TFS hun!❤️
I just love the mystery box challenges. You guys are all so creative. I was watching this video with my ear pods and was laughing out loud at the Barbie comments
Hi Courtney! I love watching you create things from the goodies in the mystery box! You are a very talented and creative individual. 🌷 Oh, that barbie head and the "real audio" cracked me up!
This is what I thought immediately. You could even try using it as an actual cement mold. I've seen that done with doll heads of all kinds. Or, if doing a faux cement effect, why not doodle some fun flower designs over her face with a glue gun, add other ornamental texture with gems and old jewelry and stuff, or else, build up her features underneath. Barbie has a fairly standard female head form, but you could really abstract it--pointy-eared elf? Medusa with snake-hair? Fancy garden goddess with third eye?
Loved all the projects you came up them. The fairy garden was so precious. One idea I had thought of was to take the doll head cut out around the head and remove hair. Then do the cement trick like the hat all over the making it a cement planter just add flowers
So much for Barbie lol. You slayed that! That paper ribbon, used to be called paper twist. I made dozens of woven soap box totes and magazine holders out of that stuff in the 1990s. I see the ribbon has made a bit of a comeback.
I loved what you did with the gold butterflies! I never would have thought to paint them or make them fly like that. I would have cut the top of Barbies head off, and painted her white (with the baking soda/sand method for texture) and made her into a fun planter.
Great ideas! I would have made a planter out of the doll’s head cut off at the top and wrapped it with green crinkle paper glued on the lego board by the painted stand.
Oh my goodness. You have no idea how crazy happy I was to see the mystery box playlist posted!! I so look forward to these videos from you all. So much creativity and mystery excitement! You guys rock!!!♥️😆
I love your projects. For the Barbie. I would have turned her into a planter by cutting out the center of her head, maybe braiding the hair and wrapping them around her head and glueing them into place, then spray paint her all in green, then fill in any areas of her hair with the moss and small leaves and tiny silk or paper flowers...then pop a faux plant inside her head and viola! A plant fairy/ Mother Earth decor piece for spring. I love the little fairy garden you made from the building blocks. My only thought for those was to make a votive holder and spray paint it...your idea was much better.
You amaze me every time! So for the doll head, I was thinking maybe removing the hair and gluing some flowers and greenery all over it and sticking the base down into a pot of some kind for a topiary style plant. No ideas on the blocks right off hand but the fairy garden is great!

🐣I love everything you created, especially the fairy garden. I love these mystery box challenges. They give me some great ideas for my stash. I would have cut the hair off the doll head, stained it, mixed it with some moss and made a nest. Then I would have covered the bald head in caulk to create a giant egg to sit in the basket. Just my ideas.
Great video! For the doll head, I would have glued it to the top of a wooden block or box, then cut off the hair and enveloped the hairless head in something to look like a hoodie or fabric, added ears like a bunny and painted the entire thing in "rock" style paint to look like a little bunny bust. Another option on my mind would be to glue the base to the top of a large mouthed bottle or vase, give the doll head a fancy hairdo, add some embellishments to the whole thing, spray paint the entire thing in a good metallic paint, and finally, distress it to give it an aged, weathered and cracked appearance. Might look cool in the background of other items when staging.
