- Hi!
No music. No talking. Just work.
If you are taking your ACER ASPIRE 5750G laptop apart be careful and wear an anti-static wrist band or use other anti-static device. If you need to change a LCD usually you don't have to take screen out of a laptop. You can leave it on a laptop and watch the last part of the video where I am taking LCD apart. If you need to change a keyboard, you don't have to take all bottom screws out. There are usually some marks, like a keyboard picture, on a case bottom. If you need to put a laptop back to work be aware of screws. They are different and you better remember or mark them somehow to insure that you will put them back in to a right place.
Some laptops I take apart first time, so don't be serious on my time and performance.
If something got broken - ooops, it's your fault.
Believe me, some parts in your laptop are already broken, you just don't see that.
So, just watch this video and fix your laptop.
Have fun and good luck!!
regazzz
P.S. There is no reassemble video - that's why I have created a special channel for Backwards Playback Support for
each video that is missing reassemble. It is not the best possible solution obviously but better than nothing.
Find a link at the end of each video. #recycling #recycle #upcycling #zerowaste #sustainability #reuse #environment

I did this video a while ago, I am not sure, I think there was some problem with motherboard.
This isn't a gaming laptop, so, I would expect some overheating issue while gaming.
Thanks for comments!!!
I was struggling to open the top panel until I watched the video, taking off the keyboard really helped me a lot! And I continued to watch every step until I got to the fan so I can clean it! Thank you for the video!
+djrumbata thanks, glad it helped. If you are a DJ, what music do you play?
+regazzz Yes I am a Dj , I play Deep House , Tech House and Electro House mostly. :)
+djrumbata cool, I like electro house!
What's the thing next to the battery, is it a m.2 slot?
Thanks! Took mine apart to replace the faulty DC jack and was pretty lost when I had to put it back together. Your video helped me figure out a few pieces of the puzzle.
THIS IS GREAT!!! And some people are asking me to do assembly video, Why? :) Just scroll it back!
You did a great job!
Thanks!
Thanks so much for posting this video showing clearly how the fan needs to be replaced. it is a tricky job. cannot believe they make it so inaccessible. they are really trying to create built in obsolescence with this design. next computer i will definitely look to see how easy the fan is to remove. my much older computer is a compaq and that is really simple to do.
nothing like this nightmare.
You're a life saver man. Got very stuck right before removing the keyboard.
Thanks
To remove a dc jack you will need pretty much everything that I did in this video, except maybe LCD can stay. You may need to flip motherboard, because even if you will be able to remove DC jack while motherboard is inside, but to place it back it will be a little pain, much easier if motherboard is flipped.
What you need.
1) tools 2) dc jack 3) antistatic wristband (better wired) 3) Glue (in case some plastic parts are damaged and you will be able to fix it)
fuck i aint doin this...i just wanted to clean the fan
:)))))))))
Thanks.. Your video gave me confidence and guidance to replace motherboard of my broken computer. I am happy to share that computer is working now :)
No I don't, but I maybe will make some in close future, not for all laptops, just in general :)
Besides there is tons of videos about that. Just Google it :)
Thanks a lot! You helped me to take out my Aspire 5750G's fan for cleaning. Couldn't have done it just by myself.
Been awhile since I've taken apart a laptop but I have this model and know I need to replace the thermal paste on the CPU. Glad you have a video for this one.
Sorry, don't have this in stock. Will post immediately when I will get this one, but it is beyond my approximation.
What an absolute pain to replace the fan on this Acer laptop! MSI laptop is simple, you just open an access panel on the bottom!
Kespired not only msi.
yeah boyy --- replacing fan was a pain
Seems like dead fan is a common thing in this series of laptops.
@@jubeidono I've had this laptop for over 7 years and that's not the first thing that failed. 1st was the keyboard, 2nd was the monitor, 3rd was the audio, then it was the charging entry thing it got pushed down inside. then it was the harddrive, Then it became very slow probably because of frequent overheats and powering down mostly in the summer, and now the fan isn't running at all. Since i replaced the hd with ssd my laptop now is 100% silent (not dead yet just silent).
@@Gabriel_F4924 what is the total ram can be installed in this laptop?
8gb or 12gb?
Just used this via to clean my CPU fan. Thanks! I have to say that the Acer internals are fiddly plastic crap. It's not for the faint hearted! Take pictures of each panel or use this video to remember all the screws. Be careful of the hinge anchors, they are pathetic plastic shite. I cracked mine separating the base from the keyboard bezel. Amazing that you have to disassemble the entire laptop, including resetting the CPU & GPU thermal paste just to get to the fan. I honestly thought I wouldn't get it back together but here I am.
Hi,
I can't post a link, because it just don't work in comments... you can "Google it"
Drill is SKIL but I would not recommend to use it if you just starting - start with regular screwdrivers.
Don't forget about antistatic wristband (better wired)
thanks for the reply. I started disassembling it, but felt uncomfortable so gonna take it to the shop now. I hope they don't charge me high for just thermal paste application. :)
Hi, fan can be very dirty and not very dirty. If it is very dirty you may need to remove a everything but you don't need to take out LCD. This is a take apart video, that can give you an ability to figure out what actually you need to remove, it is pretty visible, that palmrest come out without LCD (on some laptops you need to remove LCD first and than palmrest). So, do pretty much same as in the video and you can leave LCD in the place.
Be careful!
Holy cow you have to take it down to the last pieces to blean the damn cooler. I thought I clean it myself but after seeing this I think i'll take it to a service
Pretty soon I will make a video about that all possible issues that can happen and what to do in this situations.
:)
thank you for helping me to grease my nephews fan. Only 3 screws left over.
Hi, you are welcome! And I understand that! I don't fix my car, usually go to a guy who knows what to do. Some things I can to fix, but just don't like to do that. I unplug my toilet (haha) if it is plugged and don't call maintenance in this case. So, not everybody need to fix their laptops. There are people who can do that job, but can't do a different things.
Hope that everything will be fine with your laptop.
Thanks very much for posting this! Very useful when replacing my dodgy power connector.
I would say if you do that often, it should be fine, because there will be not a lot of dust building up.
Usually people do that once in a lifetime and at that point there is so much dust inside, that vacuum will not suck it out :)
Thanks alot Regazzz! This was really really helpful video. It's quite a project to clean and repaste a 5750. My cpu temp dropped so much, I was affraid the fan wasn't working :)
Hi Christy, this square is a wireless card. This to cables - white and black going in to LCD screen to wifi antennas. You just pop them up... than just put it back. Tomorrow I will have a little time, I may make video on how to take them out :) But it is easy one.
You are welcome! I hope everything will be fine with your laptop!
no, that's all what I got, but I think this video enough to understand what to do ( alongside with videos on other channels about cpu replacement)
tank you so much. i found one of these on the side of the road put win 10 on it but it kept beeping and giving blue screen and shutting down. i opened it up and the fan has so much thick dust in it. i will clean the dust re apply thermal paste and see if it works.
ok thanks i have all the parts for it its just the mater of me not being afraid of messing up my laptop in the process and not being able to put it back together lol. and thanks for the taking the pic advice. i appreciate the reply :D
Damn, thanks for this. Time to clean up the old 5750g and replace the silicone paste. It's been heating up insanely lately.
Yes, you can partially access a fan, but it can be not enough. Try it and if it will not help - either find someone who can take a risk of taking it apart and put back together or do it yourself if you are confident.
Hi, keys can be hard to install and also sometimes a little tiny piece can break and that's it, but I am sure there are tons of places where to buy either a whole keyboard or even key suspension.
I learn this by my self and by working in a different type of companies that providing different type of service.
I hope you will be able to clean it and put it back together. Be aware. There is no video how to put it back together, at least on my channel. So, make sure you remember where screws coming from and all cables etc...
2 :)
If you want to see much clearer you can change quality of a video to 1080p
And you can also make it fullscreen with 1080p.
Many times it can be just simple juice or something else stick that prevent to remove some part. Or just some different part they used while manufacture this particular laptop.
ahh thanks for the reply. i must have skipped over the back bit while looking for it.
I will check more carefully.
Great tutorial btw
and the award for 'not my f*cking job' goes to this guy...
Hi Emma,
(sorry for delay)
for just to a clean a fan - you will need to remove a palmrest (because I think fan will not be well accessible if you will remove only a keyboard) if and try out a canned air first, make sure fan blades will not rotate a lot, because it can be damaged (depend on how strong an air pressure will be)
If this will not help, remove a motherboard and by that you will get a full access to a fan.
if this will not help - you will need to remove a motherboard and
It depends on how dirty is the fan/heatsink. Because if you remove a keyboard (there is no screws holding it) you will be able to access some part of a fan. It may will be enough.
Hi, replace is pretty hard, depend, of course on your level of experience.
First of all you may try to clean fan with canned air. Maybe it will help. If not, either there is too much dirt or fan is failing ...
Pretty much everything. Back is like a base where everything goes in to.
Thanks, assembling without track your steps will be a problem!
Have a good luck!
wow thanks for your reply now I have a direction to go with this.
Yep, some ACER's are very easy to clean. Basically open a door that cover pretty much everything and clean :)
There can be a special silicone, but I think you can leave it and re use it. But for sure you need to re apply fresh thermal paste for CPU.
Dude you helped me a lot today.... I can even say that you saved my ass by posting this video....
From my understanding, we can take the motherboard from the G (has the nVidia) and put it in our regular 5750; however, the cheapest I've seen for JUST the motherboard is about $200, then you can either re-use our i3-2310M or go for i5-2410M/i5-2520M/i5-2540M/i7-2620M, which means MORE money. AND if you do decide on the board switch, you'll need to get the 95w adapter.
Hi,
watch this video, this is only one way you can take it apart. On the other hand if this ball is metal ball, you may try to remove it with magnet (a little magnet, not a huge strong magnet)
If you will remove a motherboard it will be pretty much the same as you trying to remove it from laptop without taking it apart, because audio jack is sitting on motherboard, unless you will replace audio jack, but this will be hard.
Clean fan/heat sink and reapply thermal paste. You may need to search on UA-cam about how to apply thermal paste. There are tons of videos about that.
it can be a little hard to remove a front bezel in order to get to a webcam... but once you will done that, you will be able to remove webcam after you unplug it from a video cable... on top over there, you will see...
Usually all this plastic parts (front bezel for example) are pretty fragile, so if you never did this before - be triple careful...
This is a cooling paste, you need to get new one to apply in CPU and GPU. Make sure you did it right too. There are some videos about that on UA-cam. Make sure you will apply it, prior you put everything back together.
Have a good luck!
You probably don't need to remove LCD, besides it is not a big deal, after you will remove everything else. Because to fix audio jack (you may need to order part to solder it) and you will need to remove a whole motherboard. Make sure you will remember where are screws coming from. Make sure you will maybe take pictures of how cables are located. You can also use this video, but as more info about how it was before will you get - less painful it will be to put it back together.
No problem! You are welcome!!!
I got a galaxy nexus. The HD quality is very good , not blurry at all.
Sorry for late reply, in this video (somewhere at the start) I placed a annotation links to a how to remove a keyboard only video.
You are welcome!
Fan is far away, but you may try canned air to remove some dust (it can be hard if it is very dirty)
Thanks a lot, with your help i was able to finally clean the cooling and put the laptop back together.
I wonder if acer makes the fan so inaccessible at purpose.
If you remove a keyboard you will see a partial access to a fan, you may use a canned air (just be careful don't brake a fan blades) and if this will not work - going further will be needed.
There is no short cut, but if your fan isn't very dirty, you may try to clean it with duster without removing it... Just don't let fan rotate fast, it can be damaged like that....
This video is a video how to take it apart, this isn't only fan take out video... but it show somehow the way for people how to ...Anyway take out fan process will be pretty much similar...
Hi!
I can't understand what to do after taking the keyboard away.
Thank you for Not playing music.
+BadRonald1 you are so welcome!
can you tell me please which is the cable that connects the camera on the main board? I disassembled my laptop for cleaning and it not recognize it anymore and i'm not sure if i missed a cable
There is no direct route for DC jack. You may will be able to remove it without removing a motherboard, but to place it back, it will be a little harder, because fingers can not fit there. Maybe with two small screwdrivers it will work, but probably better just to remove old jack and place new one.
I wonder what's that little space next to the battery for? between battery and cd dvd little cover?
Maybe a few more screws holding the caddy or you can also try a flat screwdriver to push it little
Hello,
only fan is not working or something else is not working? First of all you may need to check if fan is connected or not and maybe try out a different fan.
Hi! You can reach fan by removing keyboard, but you will not be able to remove it.
You may need to remove some screws for a keyboard (not sure now if there any holding it)
Fan can start and stop, depend on the temperature...
If you removed all screws and able to lift up a little this keyboard, just try to see, maybe there is some glue or something sticky preventing it from being taken out.
Hi,
this video is only showing how to take it apart, that's it. At some point fan is accessible and at some other point fan is removed. Same with heatsink and any other part.
I would say if you carefully remove everything to the point you will be able to clean fan/heatsink, if you will remember where screws coming from, if you will remember (take a picture as well) of how all cables was before you removed it, if you will use wired antistatic bracelet or/and antistatic pad. Should be fine!!!
Does screw rotate or head thread is worn out and screw is not rotating?
Hi, webcam cable is merged with lcd cable, so it is not really possible that it will be disconnected inside lcd...
unless laptop was dropped ...
You can try reset it to factory settings ... but first check all drivers, maybe re install them.
If it want boot it is bad, but you need to check if all cables are connected first.
Yes that was the problem. I managed to push it back in properly. Was a bit awkward to do so.
Sorry, after translating I can't understand what do you want to calibrate. A battery?
Hi,
What is the purpose of the part you took out at 1:35? I can't seem to make the screw come out completely with a manual screwdriver, but after watching this, it doesn't seem to be very important.
Thanks for this video, too. I couldn't figure out how to take the hard drive out, but you made it really simple!
it's all depend on how dirty it is... if it is very dirty you may need to remove a palmrest, fan will be pretty accessible after that!
Nice video. Assemble it again, it's what looks difficult to me..
4) take a piece of paper and mark where all screws coming from ( maybe few papers for both sides, it will help you to place all screws back)
5) take pictures (or watch this video) how all cables was placed prior you remove them)
If you are still not sure about whole process - better ask your friends and relatives about a trusted technician who can perform that job for you for decent money. Because if you will damage something - you will anyway end up going to technician...
it is depends on how dirty/dusty is a laptop. If you will be able to recognize how dirty fan is after removing a palmrest and clean it without taking motherboard out, than that's.
Hi,
you can't just remove a bottom of a notebook. It is like a basement of a house... Unscrew, remove keyboard, palmrest and you will see some part of a fan. After that you can try to clean, but for the best cleaning you may remove a motherboard, but this is not easy if you are doing it for a first time.
@JuniorIsHere: i had a similar problem with my aspire 5750. try to clean the fan with a vacuumcleaner by holding it against the little grid on the bottom of your laptop under which the fan is placed! worked for me! ;-)
You are welcome! Unfortunately video card is not replaceable on the motherboard of this laptop.
I just got a dremel and cut off area around fan on back and then glued back on...simple.
Hello, if you only remove a keyboard there will be pretty huge amount of fan available for cleaning. But it is very depend on how much dirt is inside. If there will be a huge amount of dirt - cleaning will not work well, than you will remove a palmrest and get closer, but removing palmrest on this laptop does not making better access to a fan. So, if there will be huge amount of dirt/dust build up, you may remove motherboard and remove fan.
A lot of laptops are like that. And this is sad.
I really can imagine your frustration!
Hello, (sorry for late response)
you should notice a temperature difference if heatsink/fan was dirty and when you apply a new thermal paste.
I would say that if everything runs smooth with your games right now - no need to do anything to risk...
To remove a motherboard you don't need to remove LCD. Disconnect, but no remove from the case.
White wire is probably a wifi one. Red one, I am not sure, at what time?
How was a quality on the phone, good? I checked one video and it was a little blurry.
Did I miss it, or did you not solder the new DC jack into place? If you didn't, will it still work without becoming "loose" or wiggling around? It would be awesome if I didn't have to bother soldering it since I'd have to borrow an iron, but other sources have said to solder the new jack in place...
You can download some software, there is some free versions to check a temperature.
Than you will see when it crashes.
You can clean a fan/heatsink. Who knows, maybe it is dirty.
If it is ok, you may try to use it with some cooling pad :) it will cool down the system but and you will test is it crashing or not. And if it is not crashing than it is overheat problem.
You can also re-apply cooling compound (maybe there was not enough compound or heatsink came loose)
Have a good luck!
I think 12.7, but the kit should fit if it is written for 5750g.
Yep, should be one screw!
Hi,
if you will watch this video, you will see that on the back you will be able to remove a little cover for hdd memory and wi fi - that's it. DVD is easy to remove. Anything else you need to remove a palmrest.
hi,
yes this thing is a video cable. It should sit tight - you may tape it back.
Hi,
if there 5750g with a better motherboard, you will probably be able to fit this motherboard in. But of course tripple check that!
So, you didn't even opened your laptop? Glad it helped, but if there will be a huge amount of dust build up it can prevent fan from rotation.
Anyway if it is worked for you it is great!
Thank you!
Hello,
I don't have this model in stock, sorry. I would definitely show how to if I have a laptop like that. Sorry!
I hope you will be able to do that on your own!
Altough it is not a big deal to remove and place lcd back, but it probably can stay. You will see if you will be able to remove motherboard or not. You can, for sure, skip some steps.
