Empousa’s skill to retire is optional: Text within "[ ]" brackets or labeled with a " Cost icon.png " icon indicates a "cost" (set of one or more actions) that the player must "pay" (perform) in order to use the ability. An ability's cost is always optional, but if the player cannot or chooses not to pay the entire cost, they do not get to use the part of the ability that comes after paying the cost.

No. Empousa does not go into the soul
@@NexusCorps mb not put into soul. Retired this unit(empousa) and choose a card from soul and put into hand. Or is it a choice thing?
