Whoever would have thought there was a nice cream rug under all that dirt! For some reason, I found this little rug transformation more satisfying than some of the bigger ones. Probably because I hate waste, and most people would have chucked the thing in the trash. I'm so glad you saved it for a second life.
I must say your filming and editing skills are superb and your videos are constantly improving. The cleaning-up between each process is most satisfying.
James, may I make a suggestion? When you apply the shampoo, you start at the end nearest the drain/camera. Because your work surface is on a slope, that means a lot of shampoo at the bottom (the drain end) of the rug simply flows out and is wasted while you're applying it further back. If you started at the highest point instead, gravity would ensure that the shampoo runs through the rest of the rug before trickling out, and so is not wasted.
Thankyou for the feedback. Yes that is true some shampoo is wasted but its minimal. I guess its a better shot to take working from the front to the back. But this is why i don't have a grated floor because the shampoo is just wasted even more.

Oh James! Those extra scrapes are the best!! I feel people “waste” such good scrapes by just scraping the rugs once. Since scraping seems to be a lot of people’s favorite part providing those extra scrapes just makes some of us (mine) day! ❤️🥰😂😍

HELP i have favourite huge rug . Got flooded here in Mullumbimby North Rivers nsw. People say throw it away its only factory made persian but i love it ive had it 35 years at least . I ve been dreaming of cleaner who understands flood damage . Silt.. where are you who do you recommend if I get it to you. I feel you'll understand

I’ve been watching these videos for a few weeks and zenning out and I had my carpets cleaned but my area rug could not be cleaned because it was over hardwood. I asked if they could take it for cleaning in their shop and it was returned beautifully. I only knew this was a thing because of your videos. Mine was only mildly grimy, but I’m happy that I leaned this exists

Ooh, I loved the bit where you rolled the rug up and SQUISHED all that dirty water out. The rugs you feature often look practically clean enough to walk on after the first shampoo and scrape, so it's great to get a peek like that at just HOW dirty they still are.
Sometimes I wonder how much dirt comes out after the first centrifugation. This time was tame in comparison. There are some rugs with which the water at first centrifugation is still dark.

I think I love the power wash, especially on the back, the most because I know the force of the water is getting the dirt that's embedded at the bottom of the pile from the other side. You can literally see the dirt disappear when you do the back. Love it!

When I was little, about 10 years old, my parents had a little area rug. They were just going to toss it and I thought I would be nice and clean it for them. I had no clue what I was doing but I got the carpet cleaner which was super concentrated and dumped the majority of the bottle straight onto the rug and used a scrub brush to clean it. I then took the garden hose and sprayed the rug to get out the cleaner and boy did it suds up. I sprayed and sprayed what felt like forever and soap still kept coming out. I'm surprised my parents didn't stop me when they saw me. I finally gave up after awhile because there were so many bubbles. My parents still threw the rug away (it was an old ugly rug from the 70's and it was the 90's and it would have taken so much more rinsing out to get out the cleaner) but said thank you for doing something so nice. That's the first and last time I tried cleaning a rug with the exception of bathroom rugs that just go into the washing machine.
Constantly amazed by how much dirt comes out of these rugs. Great work!
