I love that your teenage son likes going with you on your adventures. He reminds me of my son. Good boy!! Quality time together like this is priceless ❤️❣️♥️
Christian - When I was six years old [I'm 60 now], we lived in Las Vegas for a year. At that time [1965] a narrow gauge railroad ran through those tunnels. I don't know when they removed it, but I still remember the small steam locomotive they used to pull open passenger cars along the route. We lived off Charlston Blvd., only one-half block from the edge of the desert. Today, the city goes on for miles and miles beyond the street we lived on. As a young child, I had a very serious medical condition that took away most of my eyesight. Shortly before we moved to Las Vegas, I had eye surgery that restored some of my sight [and even more in later years]. As a result, my first memories of seeing anything are memories of my eight year-old sister guiding me through the desert near our house. One funny memory of my childhood desert explorations is my mother constantly warning us to not go near any cars we found parked out there. In later years, my mom told us she was really worried we would come across a car with a dead body in it. The mafia, which controlled the Las Vegas back then, had a bad habit of leaving their victims in the desert.
I have friends that have lived here their entire lives, and your right about the mafia. When they would jetski, and wipe out they were always nervous about a body floating near them. In those days the mafia made a lot of concrete boots. While excavating for new projects they find human bones a lot. Sorry about your eye sight!!
Excellent video Christian love the history of the Hoover Dam and how it was built that makes your channel a lot different the most channels the variety and BTW it's good to see a father and son bonding your son seems to be a fine young man
I won't be able to answer many comments until I get back to Vegas, but I will. You all should think about getting the app Sweatcoin that Sean was talking about. I've already made about 30 dollars. I'll be sending out emails to people as soon as I get home. Thank you all for watching, and enjoy the dam tour!!!
Christian, do you think the 2053+ nuclear tests (over a thousand in the US) had something to do with climate change? Is that why they are spraying in the atmosphere - is it to cover this up?
Thanks so much for this video. I had no idea there was an informative trail there. I've been on the dam tour 3 times, once as a child, then as an adult. The last time we went, a lady was freaking out when entering the elevator. Her friends were trying to calm her down, stating everything is ok. She was claustrophobic, and the second that door closed, and we started to move, she fainted dead away. What an experience.
Hi Christian! Thanks for uploading another excellent and educational video. I always look forward your vids. I am positively never disappointed! I think its great the way that Sean comes along with you for the ride and how you're still able to make your viewers feel as though we are right there along for the ride. I know that Hoover Dam has a lot of history behind it and through it as it was being built. It was truly exceedingly difficult for the workers of that time. You were able to catch a bit of what remains of that. As always, thanks for thee upload. I look forward to your next video. You're great!
Hey Christian,I’m really looking forward to watching this video later here in 🏴,The Hoover Dam has always been somewhere I’ve wanted to visit & Hopefully 1 day I will so thanks for this.
Hey Christian just wanted to thank you for making these great videos. Living in a small county town in England this is the closest someone like me will ever get to see such marvellous sights. Cheers mate and keep up the great work brother. S.T. 4 life
To be honest most Las Vegans don't know. Just park at the visitor center just before Lake Mead, and it's a very nice, and easy walk. Thank you for watching!!!
I remember you could see the Lake from The back patios @ Lake Las Vegas the water ran up not far away and now you almost can’t even see the Lake from there anymore. I already know this but it’s still blows my mind. It’s going down so fast I can’t believe there’s still water @ all. Was the largest man made Lake in the world @ 1x.
Thank you for showing the history. I would never had know all that existed if you hadn't of taken the dam tour 🤗 whoo hooo your son did it on his 2nd try 👍😁😎 he's one to watch out for!

You can catch the trail at the parking lot of a hotel called The Hacienda. It's not a hard hike in terms of elevation gain, it's relatively flat. but remember you will be walking 4+ miles in the Nevada heat which can be down right brutal. When I hiked it, it was it was 90+ around Oct 1st when I reached the last tunnel right before the trail ends at the upper parking lot of the Nevada side of the Hoover dam a monsoon hit hard. The temperature change was pretty drastic, walking back the temp was down but it was humid as hell. It's a good walk with alot interesting stuff on the side of the trail left over from construction of the dam.
Was he wearing that shirt? I like hard music, but not that hard. Sean had me watch the documentary on him which was good, and sad. Died far to early. I had never heard of the band until he told me about them. Then at the Slayer show last week he kept pointing out all their shirts.
It's funny the oceans are rising but the inland lakes are being emptied... It's also how unbelievable soft we have become compared to 100 years ago... Have a great day...
Where do I get some dam bait?....LOL (Randy Quaide!) Thanx for taking us on this hike! I hope to visit that area sometime in the future but don't think I'd be able too make that hike so thanx again! Keep the good videos coming !
Thank you, nice hike my friend. That spider web hanging off you would of had me feeling imaginary spiders for the rest of the hike. BTW that looked like tinted Shotcrete sprayed over the rock to stabilize the rock but I haven’t been there to see it in person.
Plane/Moon shot was a Great shot ! Lucky, dude. Raised in L.A. but you have given more Cool info on the dam than I ever knew. Been there and toured it as a kid. Never where you went. Really informative and great scenes. In the future, like your hand on the post in the tunnel, give me five seconds, minimum , per scene. And a tripod.would be very useful. Otherwise, you have a knew subscriber ! Keep 'em coming.
This was a great viedo i learned a lot. Great to see sean. Looks like you both jad a great time. Keep up tje great work cant waite till the next viedo. Ne safe both of you.

Maybe it belongs to Spider-man that bit of webbing. Your videos are always very interesting & informative. You're better at ground level rather than a helicopter ride over it. You see more walking about I'd imagine.
Read an interesting story on how hard hats got their start during the construction of the Hoover dam, workers would dip their hats in tar, let it harden and use them for protection from all the fallen rocks!
Hey Christian, with all of you A51 adventures, and other places, have you ever done any geocaching? It's great fun, and when I was out that way earlier this year, I was absolutely amazed at the amount of cache locations around Rachel, and all along ET highway, and 93. There's even a large geocache inside the Little A'le'inn that I left a few swag items in. I wonder if they are still there...
Another extremely interesting video of yours. What were we listening for as you walked through the first tunnel ? As long as you keep making these videos then i will watch them.
Eye hiked this same trail with my son back in the 90's . . . . . . always looking over my shoulder for Clint Eastwood on his chopper outrunning the other chopper in the air that was shooting at him = a scene from The Gauntlet ((70's)) was filmed right there on the trail, other parts of Vegas & Red Rock too. The trail ended when you got to one of the tunnels that was completely sealed up BLM style. Wondering if that's still the case ?
It was a failed attempt at doing a live stream from Tikaboo Peak. Go to my Facebook page where I posted a lot of what we did. I'll be posting videos also.

Putting shotcrete over the inside of the tunnels to keep small loose rocks from falling is still a common practice in road and railroad tunnels.

Another extremely interesting video of yours. What were we listening for as you walked through the first tunnel ? As long as you keep making these videos then i will watch them.
Weird the lake is so low. California had so much rain this winter and spring. Figured you guys would have got some of that too.
We did, but rain doesn't help the lake much. It's the snowpack in Colorado that fills the lake.
Where your talking about the snake area looks like an ambush zone !!!
People in indigenous cultures and in prehistoric times hunted with fishbone hand arrows and rocks they threw during hunting.
Walking through those tunnels would be a bad time to get ground tremors !!!
