Thank you. I love their singing & I loved being on the Cape fishing with my dad seaside in North Truro. I love learning about the Native Americans. I wish I’d seen it when I was a young girl. - Cynthia 🐳
Thanks, also, for the date further down: 1979. One of the last times I visited the museum at Highland Lighthouse, i was astounded at what I read about how the Native Americans were cheated out of the land, and how proud the new Americans were in cheating them...and in their own handwriting! I never learned that in any history class! What an eye full! Absolutely heartbreaking.
I sometimes wonder how different history would’ve turned out had thE Wampanoag people were not kind to the English initially. I don’t think they would’ve survived..
1/ 16th. Pasamaquody ..yeah. not much. But I feel a pride and looking back at photos of the bloodlines of my family and how strong it was a few generations ago is something I can't explain. Wonderful is a start..my guess is this is early 70s.
Re; the term Native Americans --- America was named after Amerigo Vespucci, a fellow explorer of Columbus. Vespucci also held household slaves, whom he bequeathed to his wife.
My ancestors the Wicomico of the great Powhatan nation had much of the same, until the secret societies took power over all the land. It wasn’t just the white man, it was agents of the devil.
I love the Wampanoag people. Our Northern Algonquin relatives.
Thank you for sharing..
Thanks for the Information About The Native People of Cape Cod

Our ancestors were on th Mayflower
Not mine. Mine came over on boats in the 1920s. From the Mediterranean.
I hope mine weren’t. Bad enough they are mostly British. 🤷🏻♀️
