Norman Lear was asked at his 100th birthday about the streaming status of some of his lesser known shows (I believe the journalist used All that Glitters, Fernwood 2-Night, and Hello, Larry (!) as examples) He said something like he thinks they all will be available eventually; hopefully someone at Sony was listening!
I loved _MHMH,_ but went into the army during the second season and never even KNEW about _Forever Fernwood_ until I read about it decades later on Wikipedia, or somewhere like that. I’d *love* to be able to see the entire series! Oh…and I had a huge crush on Debralee Scott-but who _didn’t!_
Thank You Mr. Eric for sharing and preserving this! I am a huge MH2 fan, on ep. 107 of my 2nd run of it, so just to see this pilot is like knowing the legends are true, Forever Fernwood was for real. Thank You!!!
Fernwood 2 Night was a limited run replacement series for the three months between the end of Mary Hartman and beginning of Forever Fernwood. When Forever Fernwood was cancelled after 6 months, Fernwood 2 Night was brought back, but called America 2Night because the Fernwood franchise was over.
@@skipeastport5529 I'd LOVE to see Jerry Hubbard ~Fred Willard's role~ in Forever Fernwood. I hear his character was in the show. So much of MHMH was so dark... It's hard to picture Jerry's cornball humor in it lol
This was a spinoff of _Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman,_ which was somewhat dark comedy, filmed in a (satirical) soap opera format. Not exactly a sitcom; no live studio audience except for the scenes (in 1 or 2 episodes) that were filmed on the Dinah Shore Show set.
@@donaldo555 Had to end somehow. Just finished the boxed set. Waiting years for it. Relived my youth . Forgot so much ! Didn’t realize how much time was spent on GGG. Too much Merle. Glad he didn’t get Mary.Mary Kay was such a big character . Loved her in Big Love.
Lasser had only signed to do the show for a year initially; since she was the title character and the only character that was in just about every episode, it was too much for her to keep going too far beyond that first year (she made it eighteen months)
I wish Shout Factory would release the entire series.
Yeah! They need to release _Forever Fernwood_ on DVD as they did with _Mary Hartman Mary Hartman!_

It would have to be someone who recorded it off television, if that was possible back then. I have everything except this series.
