He needs to put a lot of weight and muscle on. He is 6'2 and under 160 which is really bad. Big project but has the potential to be a top 3 player in the draft.
The lightning always come out with a steal in the draft, I wouldn't mind taking Pettersson. We're stacked on offense, we need a Dman.

I would like to see the Devils take Hischier, he's more dynamic offensively / more of what the devils need whereas Patrick is more of a heavy two-way center. Although we could move Zacha or Mcleod to the wing, they are 2 big centers and it would make a lot more sense to draft Hischier. Nico has a higher ceiling in my opinion even though Nolan might be more NHL ready right now. Also Patrick's injury history is definitely a concern. Obviously both great players though who would both help the devils tremendously and i would gladly take either one, but if the decision was up to me i'm going with Nico.
nexushockeyHD he had a sports hernia and an upper body injury. This kid scored 30 goals at 16 years old in the WHL and a season later had over 100 points in a full season. In the shortened season he was above a point per game. Hischier has only recently become relevant as a top talent. You have to take the player with bigger sample size and more consistency. Patrick is more NHL ready on top of it. Hischier could become better offensively but its not worth passing up a guaranteed first line center for the next 15 years
It depends. Hischier is dominant every game. Not like it matters anyway. It's like hall vs seguin draft. You're getting an elite player no matter what. I prefer hischier just cause the devils don't really need a 3 zone player because they already have one in mcleod.
PineauINC well than you just didn't watch a lot of hockey outside of NA then. Last year, I was hoping that the Jets would be able to draft hischier in the first round this year. when I heard he was coming over I just knew his stock was gonna rise, and boy it sure did
Was i ever wrong lol.. I looked for tape for hischier, shift to shift play, and man can Hischier literally do it all. He's like a way more skilled Zach Parise. Unbelievable skill in 3 zones.

This draft is really weird, some people have Makar falling to 9th and Liljegren at 12th

I prefer Patrick to hischier but I think NJ will take hischier because they need more pure goal scorers instead of two way gays and hischier can play anywhere (center or wing) for them, but you're definitely right the whole draft completely depends on what Dallas does

I'm gonna be honest, I think Florida is pretty solid up front with size, now they need to add some wheels. There are some slow players upfront (Bjugstad, Barkov, Jagr) that I think could be helped by a player like Lias Anderson.

Im not gonna move any EU player above an NA one since its really hard to compare the two, with NA players playing against other young guys and EU ones playing in their countries top league/leagues. With that said, the SHL had proven to be the best league in Europe, apart from the KHL, and Lias Andersson has proven to be really good in what is the best team in the SHL. Having Necas on 12th and Andersson not even in it seems kinda weird if you ask me. IMO, L.Andersson = E.Petterson > M.Necas, i do belive that both of the swedes are gonna go in the top 15 of the draft, if not higher

Arizona might go with Liljegren, their LDH is already set with OEL, Goose and Chychrun, but they are very poor at RDH. But i wouldn't be shocked if they take Tippett, he has very good numbers.
Wings got Vili Saarijarvi in the pipeline... Offensive RD ... I don't think he's as good as Makar or Liljegren obviously (He does look very skilled tho)... I'm just saying they have a kid who could fill a similar role if they decide to go in another direction
Detroit has a bunch of d men waiting in the wings (no pun intended) and the best player for Detroit to take is a dynamic center. Larkin is a second line guy and we'll need a first line center once z is gone. Athanasiou could very well be a first line guy but he may not fit at center. Necas is the best pick for the wings. If not for being 168 lbs, he would be considered a top 5 pick. He's worth the risk. Holland should trade for another top 15 pick anyways with all the older players and extra picks. Pick up a d-man

WHL, OHL and QMJHL consists of kids. SHL an HA consists of veteran players some with NHL# KHL experience.
Yeah the size of the rink may factor in but 41 points in the world's best second division (not counting AHL)
imagine, Dallas trades 3rd pick and something else for Cory Schneider. Devils have 2 top 3 picks and sets up decent future. The Devils also need a defenceman so they can pick Heiskanen with 3rd overall

So I'm just starting to get into hockey but is this really one of the weakest drafts in a while? I keep hearing it and I just wanted to know what other people think.
theartofpimpin hard to judge but as of right now it is not looking like a strong draft as past years have been it's looking more like an average draft that is going to be overshadowed by next years draft
