    Raja Ampat is the Heart of Coral Triangle or is it the Verde Island Passage in the Philippines? "The 1.14 million hectare passage is extremely rich in marine biodiversity, the richest area in the entire Coral Triangle. It is famous for its scientifically-backed title as the Center of the Center of Marine Shorefish Biodiversity and as the Center of the Center of the Marine Biodiversity of the World."A team of marine conservationists declared in 2006 that the Philippines is the Center of Marine Biodiversity in the world and Verde Island Passage as the "Center of the Center of Marine Shorefish Biodiversity". Those are from the wiki page about Verde Island. I also saw a video from the California Academy of Sciences where they stated that Verde Island is indeed the Center of the Center of Marine Biodiversity in the world. So which one of the two is the real center of marine biodiversity?

      Thanks for watching :) I think you are right. If you check out maps of coral triangle, you will easily find the fact that 'coral triangle' is not actual equilateral triangle. So we need mathmatician to calculate its real geographical center, but verde or raja ampat, both are awesome places.

    You are doing the best underwater videos now on youtube! Got inspired by YOU to buy better camera gears. Please, don't stop the good work. The additional conversation with the divers on this video is perfect, please keep going this way!!!

      Thank you mate- I read other comment you left below, I used Sony SEL90M lens for my macro shots. There are not many options for sony FE lens for underwater.

      Miru thank you for your answer. I'm planning on buying a Sony A7s. The footages looks amazing with this camera. I will follow your work. Have a good day.

    • @indieoceanfilm
      @indieoceanfilm  6 років тому +1

      Yeah, 7s is very good camera, only when shoot in FHD. 7s is already pretty much old one, so can't shoot in 4K unless you buy extra recorders like Atomos shogun. Maybe this year theres gonna be 7s3, so price of 7s2 will drop rapidly. But I'd like to recommend a7mk3 more, which has much smarter AF, better 4K quality. good luck anyway :)

    You are nailing the colours really well !! How are you doing white balancing for the wide panaroma shots ? Any red filters ?

    • @indieoceanfilm
      @indieoceanfilm  6 років тому

      Thank you for watching. There is a 'underwater white balance' mode inside sony camera. It works pretty well, but when I go deep and in a low light condition, I used video lights and manual white balance. And I did some color correction with Davinci Resolve.

    Hi Miru , excellent work as always , funny I was in the exact same place at Biodiversity one year before you. One question , are you fully satisfied with your Weefine Solar flare 8000 , would you recommend them as apposed to the Big blue 15000 p pro Tri-Color ? I would appreciate your opinion.

    Amazing work my friend! Just amazing.! Recently bought a A7 iii and I was wondering what WB setup you're using without the lamps? Also, you mentionned you used only one shot at 30p.... was that the manta at 3:18?

    • @indieoceanfilm
      @indieoceanfilm  5 років тому

      Thank you Mate! I remember all of underwater shots were 24fps.
      At the time, I did not use picture profile like S-log or Cine, but now I am using S-log2.
      Shots in here were mostly underwater AWB mode, and I still like it.
      It has some limitations, but by far it was best for me, especially when I shoot in S-log, some touch in water color makes me satisfactory.

    • @indieoceanfilm

      Thanks, I'm going there in October, this video is really inspirational! Did you shoot in 4k 25/30fps for most of it? I can't tell if the underwater shots were slowed down or not

    • @indieoceanfilm
      @indieoceanfilm  6 років тому

      Jason Woon 4k 24p most. only one slowmo shot I used

      S. Gln Tahnks Gin - 90G is a descent lens, image stabilization inside. If you are comfortable with diving and macro photography, the lens is the only option for sony FE cameras. If I compare it to that of Canon or Nikon, I am not sure:)

    • @saltyskin_photography1575
      @saltyskin_photography1575 6 років тому +2

      I am still CMAS Level1 and never used a macro before even on land so I guess I'll wait i bit more before buying it !! ^^
      I'll be waiting for your next videos ! ;)
