Honestly even the Hobbit trilogy is really good when you watch the extended edition. I was really surprised, because I wasn’t a big fan of the regular version, but the extended one is for me personally better than Lotr. PS Don‘t debate with me please, i know it‘s a hot take, but I just prefer the characters in the hobbit.

And each movie has a very unique setting, making it different and recognizable. The first one was designed to be in the 60s, so adults watching would get nostalgia from when they were kids. The second one had a si-fi setting being in the future, with flying cars and hoverboards, allowing for amazing effects; and was similar to all the science fiction movies releasing at the time, but with the twist being that it was themed as what could happen within the next 40 years. And the third one was a western with a Time Machine, and steampunk technology. All those combined make back the future an amazing series. And it’s also great because it hasn’t been ruined by useless sequels or bad remakes.

The real reason the lotr series is so good is bc the director filmed all three films back to back. The story never lost its pacing bc the crew and cast were never really separated/had other roles to fill. The story is also a big part of it, but thats is what i believe the key of success for that trilogy was also this.

My top 3 are Original Star Wars. prequel Star Wars, And Lord of the Rings at #1. A lot of people like to mock the Prequel Trilogy but it's so much more memorable compared to the other 6, and was my introduction to Star Wars. It's very easy to quote, you can always find favorite parts, and THE music...my god, the music. John William was the MVP of Star Wars. But LotR is just...art. It's quotable, it's enjoyable, the music is pleasing to the ears. It is probably the most flawless Trilogy ever.
Pirates of the Caribbean has to be there. The story, sfx, and music are insanely good. The main theme is super iconic among movie music (it’s no Star Wars title crawl music tho). Just finished rewatching all five, and those first three were all masterpieces, very rare for me to not dislike at least one movie in a trilogy Ik LOTR has a very dedicated fan base (from my own experience), so a LOTR buff always ranks them that high Also, fun fact, three of the five (idk about the first) broke the previous record for most expensive movies

LotR trilogy extended editions are so good. And even if you've seen them 20 times before, they're great to fall asleep to because of all the tranquil wide landscape shots with beautiful muaical scores.
Batman The Dark Knight basically became our traditional movie when we got a new TV, when our old one we got since '09 broke down we got a new one, scrolled through Netflix and found Dark Knight, same one we watched since we got that TV the first time. It will probably repeat in the future.

Some classic yet underrated trilogies: Yasujiro Ozu’s Noriko trilogy, Satyajit Ray’s Apu trilogy, Sergio Leone’s Dollar trilogy, Richard Linklater’s Before trilogy, Wong Kar-wai’s Love trilogy and Masaki Kobayashi’s Human Condition trilogy…highly recommend watching those! In my opinion all of those I mentioned blow both the PotA and Dark Knight trilogies out of the water

The Dollars Trilogy is one of the most influential trilogies ever - not just for westerns, but for films as a whole; it showed that just because a film can fallow a hero, doesn’t mean they have to be a 100% goody two shoes. In fact, The Man With No Name kills more people than the villains do. The fact you didn’t mention it is why I have to say, despite it being the backbone of your channel, you don’t always get pop culture and how it’s evolved. Please, if any of you haven’t seen these films - watch them. As they are what sparked the creative juices FOR films like Star Wars.

- the back to the future movies

You can't cherry pick 3 movies from a multiple film franchise. If you could, Toy Story 1-3 would dominate lists like this.
