Bernie was always my favourite. I loved her in The Bill and of course in the Nolan's. A lovely lady with a great personality and a strong character that helped her to deal with her illness. So sad she did not get through it, but lets not forget she did not lose any battle.
Read the book and its wonderful,,,not just about the cancer,,,she had a great life even though it was cut way to short.....i love the song im in the mood,,was bit gutted to hear she didnt like it lol. I will always think of Bernie fondly never met her or knew her but loved the music. RIP Bernie and well done to your wonderful Hubby getting out of his comfort zone to get your story to everyone xx

i saw her as mama morton in chicago at sunderland last year she was brillant. mam said that it was her last role and i feel honored to be able to see her xx

I know I was heartbroken when she died I admired her a lot for her acting in the bill and I thought she was a good singer in the late seventies and early eighties I know it's no consolation to Steve and Erin but when Bernie knew she was dying she didn't whimper like a kitten but fought like a lion now that's what I call courage sadly she couldn't win that battle but proud of her for that fight wish she could have won
