Kazuya's internal conflict throughout this game just hits different. It definitely gave his character a lot more depth compared to being "irredeemably evil" like nowadays. Man, what I wouldn't give for the first three Tekken games to be remade with Tekken 4's format of storytelling. That'd be grand, but alas, it's a dream that just isn't meant to be.
That shot of Angel embracing a red-eyed Kazuya from behind still moves me. Like she represents what he once was, clinging to him so he doesn't completely go down the road to villainy.

I keep forgetting that Kazuya had this weird "sidestep" move by simply touching forward, and I can see how effective it is here than the other games to come.

A part of me wishes they'd stuck with the idea of Kazuya's devil form being the result of him making a pact with an actual demon. The "Devil Gene" being the product of a genetic mutation caused them to have to make retcons and additions to the story that sought to clarify things but only opened more plot holes. There really should be more than just two people on the planet with the Devil Gene. I did get Kazumi out of the Mishima mess of a story, so I can forgive it a little.
The devil is still an entity. Kazumi's devil was a seperate entity. Kazuya's was a seperate entity that he takes over in Tekken 4. And the biggest proof of this is the existence of Devil Jin. Since Kazuya merged with his devil form, him and devil are the same character. Kazumi and Jin could not control their devil genes explains why their devil counterparts are entirely different characters.

The reason I wanted to see one is because the one you made in the past is outdated and there are a lot do dumb things you can do in Tekken 2. Kazuya was so op in tekken 2 I remember using him in tekken 5's arcade history on the Playstation2 his Wgfs , while standing 2 , twin pistons, his 2 unblockables lightning uppercut and lightning screw uppercut including his combos were pretty cool to pull off also back then kazuya goes yerg! with his wind god fists tekken1-tag1 before dorya! in tekken4-7 with the ewgf awesome memories
