  • Jazz Improvisation Using the Augmented Triad - a quick tip to help your improv.
In this video, I'm going to show you where and how you can get that modern improv sound by working out some simple ideas with an augmented triad.
The augmented triad is probably one of the last triads that musicians learn because so much time is focused on others that can be more useful in many more types of contexts. Triads like major, minor, and even diminished get used far more often. So it makes sense that musicians spend more time on them than the augmented triad. So take a seat, grab a pen or pencil and lets get started!

Jason may have been nice if you used trumpet keys rather than concert keys. I thought my trumpet was out of tune😅

It might be helpful in the short-term, but I highly recommend learning from concert pitch. Transposing from concert pitch is a skill set I've had to use SO many times in my career. It's also more universal for non-trumpet players that check out my stuff.

Useful; thanks. I'd suggest losing the background music - it's a bit of a distraction.
