i always thought juggling was meant for those clowns in the circus with very dramatic objects such as chainsaws and flaming torches but after seeing Vova Galchenko i realized how serious it can be too. Vova is extremely talented but the hard work shown here proves why he is one of the best in the world...
Well, Vova practiced rings a little when he was at the circus school at age of 7, but then he stopped it. And later he started practicing rings only at age of 18 as far as I remember.
"...I practice all the time..." You can't practice all the time. "...but I just can't get it right..." Just practice 2-3 hours a day for 15 years and you will get the same perfect form that Vova has. ;-)
this guy is an inspiration to me. I am 16 now and i have just srated really and i am going to try to stick with it, and i hope when i have had years of practise i will be at this level. Its wishful thinking at this stage though.
"you guys don't look very happy" Look at 3:05, 3:42, 5:32. They look happy at these moments. What do you expect? That they would smile all the time? We have a saying in Russia: "Only fools are always happy." This is a hard work to practice juggling for 3 hours.
Vova did work on ovehead throws, but very little. Currently he is working on many tricks, but mostly polishing the old ones. There is no any recent DVD of Vova, but currently he and Jason Garfield are working on Vova's new DVD.

"what's vova's record for catches in 9 balls cascade?" The most I saw was 30 catches. That was a run with a clean finish. And this is what Vova does every day. He does a few 9 ball runs of 25-30 catches with a clean finish. Vova never tries to do longer runs.
@TempterMan Well, shower pattern consists from high throws and low throws. That is why 14 high throws = 28 throws = 28 catches. This is how everybody counts catches in a shower pattern.

I WILL!!! lol i just started learning 6 ball half shower yesterday and am up to 30 catches and 25 catches average. i think it is more than possible to reach this level starting late but you just have to have a great talent. I dont think i'll reach this level coz i dont have a great talent but i am sure as hell gonna try. tbh i get more inspiration watching videos by people who havent been juggling for years and years but obviously i enjoy these sorts of vids too

"...and if there is any sort of competitive rivalry?" The only rivalry I am aware of is their online competition on 5 club 5 up 360s.
I dont think anyone has ever done an eight ball eight up 360, except perhaps anthony gatto, so eight club eight up 360 would be insane ( and fairly impossible)

I don't think so, I think the right thing is to count both the high throws and the low throws.
those are the fastest 360's i've ever seen. i tried to spin that fast and ended up hurting my neck...it was weird.
