Technically, I believe they had electronic power valves... which I never did understand why they were rumored to work like light switches (on/off) instead of opening gradually. Apparently the "electronic" just meant they used a servo motor to move it, but not much control over the position beyond opened/closed?
This entire video was an OMG moment. Mr.Rossi is a real man! Fantastic to see him ride Eddie's bike. Eddie was and is my hero after King and Freddie. I would have died to look into Valentino's eyes as he was signing the poster. He is a true legend.❤❤❤
sadly he is not even nearly ripping it. i say this because this is ony of the rare situations nowadays, where somebody rides this kind of bikes who can actually control them near the limit. would love to see rossi slap the throttle a bit harder on that thing
Eddie's late Dad and I worked at the same place. Actually bought a bike from Eddie (1981 Kawasaki GPZ 1100 that Kawasaki gave him after winning a Superbike Championship) that Eddie could no longer ride as he was with a different make. Eddie gave me gold wheels and a Kerker 4 into 1 exhaust. Would've been nice to hear what he thought of the bike after riding it.
only one ride i'd like to see more than this bike? the bike honda denied him...imagine rossi doing al lap like this on the nsr?? be a different ballgame,he loved that bike.
These Yamaha Malboros were so beautiful, icons of a golden age.
I’m 61 now when I was a kid, I had photos of these bikes all over the my bedroom. Thanks for bringing back memories.
The none electronic era with hysterical 2-strokes. Real racing bikes for real men 😎

I would love to see Rossi ride the NSR 500 again.
Valentino is fast
So, where was Eddie Lawson, couldn’t he make it, ? I don’t mind Valentino riding the bike, but would have liked to see Steady Eddie as well. 🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍
Eddie didn't think much of the 87 yzr I don't think he'd want to ride it again at his age
sadly he is not even nearly ripping it.

He did win a world championship on a less user friendly 500 fool.
@@Officialnrb isnt that what my comment was about?!
He’s just cruising in this video for sure.
Total control on the hand, not electronic device.

We got used to the sound by 87, I wonder what Valentino Rossi thought of the Yamaha
Emang the best wah bro❤❤❤❤

Probably ‘de-tuned’ like they did with Kenny Roberts when he came back for a ride after 30 years or whatever it was.
おはようございます😊
オートバイ=2ストロークです。
いつものようなライディングフォームで走ってみてよ(笑)
Is that a T Zed 750 that they're blipping the throttle on in the pits?
TZ750, yes
no winglet😊
Big question is....Did he go for a hop lap? Does his time campare to Lawson?
Doubtful. Those bikes are priceless.
Only cruising.
I would love to see Rossi ride the NSR 500 again.
