Shintaro's logic: "Oh my god, it's so hot, I'm gonna die" *Walking around in a jacket and jeans*
Lol
Because you need a jacket to join mekaku team ... unless you have a white hair ...
He doesn't want to take his jacket off because red is the colour of the hero.
A tip: you can watch movies at flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching lots of of movies these days.
@Kolton Major Yup, I have been using flixzone for years myself :D
The only thing sadder than a bad end is the fact that now we have to say goodbye to the good end.
uawaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I just saw Konoha smiling and turning into Haruka at the end and my feels broke into a million pieces once more. ;3;
why am i crying tho
You know what sucks? The fact that I can only understand bits and pieces... That they don't have annotations for the app.
Haha would like to apologise for the lack of captions. Personally I really prefer to use annotations, but I might try captions in my next vid, so do keep a look out!
I'm NOT crying, dammit...-Sobs- This is sadder than Outer Science...I prefer that ending! -More sobbing-
ima bit confused could u explain to me what happend? i thaught it was happy overall
Ethan Garcia
It is.
But it's ALL THE FEELS IN ONE VIDEO. * sobs *
oh.....
NO
NO
NO
JIN YOU JUST BROKORO MAI KOKORO
MY THEORY: So, this means that the whole story was made from him with someone else. when they where kids and play in summer holidays (a day as it says, that he won't forget) . But as he says he miss him/her because they are separate now. So he draws (writes) this story! (again and again) It means that he hopes that day had never ended and that's why this is the main plot. ...because of this!
...He also made this bunch of characters (but who is the friend he mentioned?) and also made himself a part of it. ((As the key-character)).
I know that my theory has some plot-wholes right now, but I will not leave it there. ...I will search for it!!
It's a song for an anime called Mekakucity Actors (or the manga 'Kagerou Daze'.)
Though, I LOVE your theory!
Thank you! ..but the anime and the manga are taking a different turn from the songs story. ...but my theory explains the whole story... out of the box.
aye.
the only thing with your theory is that it's kind of a cop out. Similar to the "Ash Coma" theory and things like "it was all just a dream." It kills any creativity by being too scared to jump out of that ""normality"" of life. Kagepro canonically has multiple timelines, thus why they're diverging from the story the songs have told.
That's a really good theory, but the idea that Haruka repetitively draws his friends suffering and being murdered...is.... Amusing XD
I don't get what the hell happened in this series at all, or how people can understand the fullness of it by just watching the videos. Besides the character cameos I didn't see a connection or running story at all.
+As 'Legit' as it Gets! Read the light novel or manger, that has complete stories based on the songs, Even I don't get wth is going on except some certain points (Bc I watched thy anime) other than that, it's still messy for me
Hear that? That's the sound of the comments section sobbing.
That One Assassin most of the comments are year/s ago lmao glad someone still comments on this
I shed years every time I listen to this song.Kagerou Project will lay ways remain in my heart. The characters the story. Its so...Lovely
The anime is a complete fucking waste, and the last episode was INSULTING!
Wow. Constructive criticism at it's peak. Incredible.
You realize that if they made it any longer and added any more anything, then people trying to get into it would be intimidated by it, right? Now shut up about it, because I loved the anime.
Julia Dirain What? It's one episode a week. Two-cour is completely normal in the anime industry. Super popular anime like Naruto and Bleach are HUNDREDS of episodes long, yet even small kids gobble that up.
The huge mainstream hit Death Note is over 50 episodes, and Code Geass, which is also a big mainstream anime, has TWO SEASONS, both having over 20 episodes each.
Get real!
And yeah, great, "I liked the anime, therefore you cannot have an opinion".
You want critique? Fine. All this is just off the top of my head.
(and before the inevitable pathetic "wasting your life" knee-jerk response: typing this took me 15 minutes, and I could easily make it way longer. It's not a difficult effort.)
1. The anime completely tears apart the canon source material, and rewrites roles and actions by characters, and is notably BAD at it as well. Ass-pulls and MOUNTAINS of exposition attempting to patch the holes is what we get instead.
Even scenes that ARE canon are so poorly directed and scripted compared to the source material that it is nothing but a JOKE to behold.
And you will hear me mention "the source material" a lot, but the anime as a STANDALONE product is also poorly directed, scripted, animated and written.
Knowing the source material just makes it WORSE.
2. The fucking exposition. The anime is INCAPABLE of "show, don't tell", and has characters drone on and on instead. Also, MOST of the dialogue is UNIMPORTANT, so you're forced to pay attention to the occasionally "important" line that suddenly appears in the dialogue.
Said dialogue is also vehemently boring, and it tries way to hard to imitate Bakemonogatari.
If you have ever seen Bakemonogatari, you can see how Shaft isn't even TRYING to be different, but none of the dialogue in MCA is INTERESTING to listen to either, unlike in BM, and the characters are BORING and uninteresting. Which brings us to the next point
3. Almost any and all characterization is ripped out in favor of mindless exposition. The characters all simply exist to move from one location to another while spouting more exposition to move the nonexistent "plot" forward.
The characters barely have any sort of personality quirks worth mentioning that couldn't just be squeezed into the exposition.
Scenes that would have the characters do and say interesting things to flesh them out is instead replaced with more EXPOSITION.
And again, most of said exposition is utterly unimportant and fleshes out neither the characters nor the story in any sort of elegant way.
4. The characters. The characters themselves are fundamentally changed for the worse.
-Kido hates attention in the source material, and it is a FUNDAMENTAL PILLAR to her character. The anime's OP even has her shy away from the "camera" to show this.(it is worth noting that the animation in the OP was directed by the animator of the original music videos in the source material, not shaft)
But the anime has her strike a bunch of ridiculous poses and spout a buttload of exposition to a complete stranger, in complete contrast to her actual character.
We also never get any sort of insight into WHY her personality is that way.
-Kano's existential crisis and depression caused by trying too hard to conform to what others want him to be like? You know, the thing is ability is BASED on?
None of that. Instead he just spends the anime crying about his sister and the hamfisted plot twist that the anime later had written in.
-Seto's backstory with being unable to control his ability, which causes him to hear everyone's darkest thoughts unwillingly? Yeah, none of that either worth mentioning. What about that dog he used to love so much? Nope.
-Shintarou's whole STORY about his closed-off personality and the tragedy with Ayano which caused him to become a shut-in? We're barely even shown that he is a shut-in in the first place. What about the alternate timeline issue? The anime just writes "dark Shintarou" into suddenly being the hero at the end, rather than being the emotionally-crippled shut in that he is, and he just randomly gets his power from Mary in a way that absolutely makes no sense in-story.
There's no character arc for him, no maturing at the end, and much more lacking.
-Kuroha. Kuroha is an efficient killer that considers humans to be about as important as insects, and he kills people like a kid with a magnifying glass fries ants. He doesn't care about people beyond killing them while taking great satisfaction in the act. Quick, decisive, vicious, a joy to watch.
The anime, however, turns him into a blabbering moron who does nothing but spout exposition the entire time, and when he EVENTUALLY gets his iconic body, he is "defeated" pathetically within two minutes. He NEVER gets to actually show off his character whatsoever.
He's practically a completely different character altogether.
I can make comments like these about EVERY character, but for the sake of saving time, I won't.
Every character got messed with in some way to make them bland cardboard plates just barely resembling the characters they are based on.
5. The animation. The animation lazily relies on Shafts book of tricks with constant still-shots where ONLY THE MOUTHS of the characters make any sort of movement, which then is interrupted by "edgy camera angles" like close-ups, head tilts, brief color scheme shifts, and then returning to the same still-shot to blare some more exposition.
You get some "hair waving in the wind" if you're lucky, a gimmick shaft keeps pressing into indoor scenes for some reason.
Even when it DOES try to have a lot of movement besides the close-up distraction cuts, it is most of the time jerky and awkward, and the "action scenes" are to cringe at.
(extra point: The extra random goons. Where did they come from? What is their purpose? Nothing. They are a construct of the anime, and nothing else.)
I could make several more points, but I'll keep it BRIEF like this.
There are SO many more details to discuss if I care to.

Ok, ok, you're right. I apologize. I was just really pissed off by all the hate the anime is getting. I can see now why you would make that first comment. I guess I shouldn't even be saying the anime was great when I haven't even finished the manga or novels. It's just that once a series I love gets an anime, I will take it all, as long as it isn't like FMA, with the story being way off the original (but they redeemed themselves with FMA: Brotherhood so...).
I can now see where you are coming from, with all those points.
However, I never said you can't have an opinion. It just seemed like you didn't have any evidence to back you up to me, and I didn't want to read some shit spewed onto the computer. Don't judge a book by it's cover...
So, once again, I'm sorry about that. Probably shouldn't be saying anything about the anime until I finish the manga and novels.
Hjernespreng Actually, Death Note is only 37 episodes long.
SPOILERS
im almost certain that the anime was not supposed to be the same as the manga if that's what you expected. it still follows the rules i found after thinking about it for some time. the eternity spiral, is a way time was looped in the manga for kuroha's well being. they go through several loops as said, i believe the anime was going off of the fact of the last loop in the eternity spiral where shintaro unlocks his ability to end the eternity spiral and lift the burden off of everyone for they perished in their previous lives. i personally think this anime was pretty good for original fans of the series, it was not meant for people who just ran into the anime i truly believe. but yet again, you do not have to believe me at all, this is all guess after thinking about it for several weeks trying to understand it, it makes sense to me knowing the manga and song series logic and the way the story works, but even in the anime, you can see how they chose different routes then the first eternity spiral of the manga "kagerou days" where they don't go to the fair, but walk away. they also hint at these parts of the manga during the "lost time memory" remake portion at the end of one of the episodes. but again, no reason to really believe me, its completely up to you
hELP ME I'M CRYING

i cant watch this with out crying
Loved this anime all the way. Its the only anime where i accept the ending...
same ;-; I love how they put Ayano between them and live happily since that day ;-;
But... Thanks to anime Ayano's meaningful death is turned to something like
' Uh... guys? I didn't die, just a prank! yeah..ahah...ha...what do you mean you were depressed?! Whaa-no, really, Just a prank guys so be happy and accept me"
Admap :D Ayano's death is stiil meaningful tho. Imagine that she doesn't die at all. It might make the time fucked up earlier than it should be

no this is sad, everyone died..
Omg so beautiful *sobs*
Is this the official PV?
well yes ...
What anime is this? Can someone plz tell me???? And is it even an anime?????!
It's Mekakucity Actors
The anime is Mekakucity Actors (you can find it on Crunchyroll and other anime sites), the song series is the Kagerou Project, and the manga is titled "Kagerou Days," which, frankly tells the story better than either the song series or manga do and has a different ending.
WHY DID HE COMMIT SUICIDE?!??!?!
what?who did?😂
What anime??
I don't know if someone has answered your question already or if you've figured it out by now, but this itself is not an anime, there is an anime though. (Confused yet?) I don't know how much you know so; This a vocaloid (IA specifically) sung pv that's part of a series of connected pv's called the "Kagerou Project" (Also called "Mekakucity") made by Jin (Shizen no Teki-P) that includes Kagerou Days, Imagination Forest, etc. (You should check them out.)
Anyways, now there's a anime adaptation called "Mekakushi Actors" (or "Blindfold Actors") it's airing right now and already has two episodes. (So, far it looks promising.) I think I got a little carried a way writing a novel to answer a two word question, but oh well. Hope that helps. :)
LoneWolf783
I already got an answer but thank you so much anyways!
