Can you imagine an orchestra, with sound, lighting and camera crews, stage hands, serious producers and directors, all this to film a television special starring a 5th grader? A FIFTH grader? Really?!? Get real! I can't - or couldn't until I heard THIS singer. Suddenly, it all made perfect sense.
I saw this on youtube at the end of March 2012 and I was amazed. Foster did a fantastic job putting this together with a gifted child who was not quite eleven.
The song "Lovers" is from the Chinese martial arts film, House of Flying Daggers. This is one of 15 songs Jackie performed for her Dream With Me in Concert special for PBS Great Performances at age 11, produced and hosted by legendary producer, David Foster (on piano). Jackie has impeccable control of her voice and a performance range of nearly 3 octaves. She's a natural vocalist who had no voice training, rather some singing lessons for a while until her mother decided that classical training could potentially ruin the rare purity of her voice. So her mother became her coach for the duration of her career as a minor. As a child, she was documented to have a "one-in-a-million pure opera voice" innately, though she never pursued opera, preferring to remain a classical crossover artist. Thank you for your reaction.

IMO, her highlight performance from this concert is "Nella Fantasia". It will set the bar.
AWESOME
