I don’t understand why the caber was never given a recharge. I get why it would be given a slow one but literally being stuck with it until you die just makes it so much worse.
iirc originally it'd actually do enough damage to kill the opponent and 9 out of 10 times it'd kill you too since you're basically never at full health in tf2, so originally the recharge was your respawn time.. they defo need a recharge timer for this version of it tho
I get why it was nerfed, the insta-killing medic thing when combined with the sticky jumper was probably horrible, but can it at least oneshot light classes consistently? Can it get a recharge? Could they fix the damn hitreg?

I think the scene where he hits a pyro with an explosion, then hits two normal attacks but still fails to kill the pyro shows exactly why he isn't using the explosion very often. Without crit it almost does as much damage to you as you deal to the enemy.
as someone who unironically uses the caber in normal play, here is some things i've learned: you can 1 hit heavies if you get a crit charge which is REALLY fun to do you can 1 hit snipers consistently if you get up in their ass because the explosion is centered at you you take ~50 damage from the explosion so expect your demorrism to kill you too if you're near that amount of health probably everyone knew this already but might as well say this in case someone didnt
Tip, crouch next to them and aim for the torso, or atleast aim for the lower torso, and get really close, almost guaranteed 125 minimum, Caber now is best for surprise attacks
As a spymain, even I know the caber deserves a buff. It is really dumb that a demoman can hit a 125 health class (Like spy) and leave them with 2hp consistently, especially when half the time the explosion doesn't even go off.
well if that happened demos would be able to 1 shot meds the whole reason it was nerfed in the first place was because of that what we really need is a caber that can one shot light classes so we can terrorize snipers >:)
the guy never said Caber knight, you couldve used a grenade launcher to destroy sentries or soften enemies as long as you finished them off with the caber.
I’ve come to the realization that if you want to use this weapon for real it’s kind of a last resort or a finisher for 1 lifetime, because Valve might have considered the weapon too powerful if it had a recharge. Although a recharge may not have been so bad, it’s a cool weapon concept for demo, but it’s just a meme weapon at this point.
Why not just give the Caber an attack speed buff to compensate the low damage like Scout's melees? You only get one explosive thwack anyway so it wouldn't be overpowered.
Give it a recharge and make it do the same damage as loch n load. Then at least it would be predictable and not completely useless. It would still be bad.

Used to one shot pyros and lower, but pretty much leave you at 50, just saying from third hand experience, but it was over powered.
