  • What is blooming in the June flower garden? Let's take a walk around the flower fields and the farm to see what we are up to and what we the flowers look like in June. This can be a hard time when we transition from cool season to warm season hardy annuals. The weather plays a role as to what and how fast a crop will bloom. This year we have had an odd spring. It has been warm but then we will get a few cool days thrown in. I think the roller coaster weather has thrown some of the flowers for a loop.

Thank you! I can’t wait to see what it looks like in a month! I really can’t wait for my zinnias to *hopefully* kick into full gear!

Your lizzies look amazing!! Mine are literally the saddest tiniest little things. I've never grown them before so it's just a process 😅

Did you grow your Lizzie’s from plug or seed? I grew mine from plugs from Farmer Bailey. Mine were actually taller last year! Idk why!

Did you see this video from U of K? They have a pump system set up with solar.

Are you located in the country? Doesn't sound like you get a lot of traffic. How do you get people to come out? Are you in your hometown where you grew up and have family and friends?

We are actually a suburb of Charlotte,NC. We used to be considered out in the “country” but now we have a lot of neighborhoods built up around us. Our particular road doesn’t get a ton of traffic but the main road (where we place our signs) gets a ton of traffic. We are hoping with all the growth around us that the flower stand business will pick up!

what do you use for the garden stakes for the netting?

We use rebar. Rebar seems to work best for us as it is easy to pound into the ground and the notches on it help to hold the netting in place.
