I was just cast as Cinderella in my high school’s production and I am SO excited. This song and this whole show are so beautiful and I can’t wait to bring it to life!
We just did this at our high school, and this song brings me chills every time. Especially the Time Change and reprise section with those dark piano chimes going into those beautiful flying harmonies from the ensemble, just an absolute emotional roller coaster
I was lucky enough to have Andy as a dance partner in Show Boat several years ago. Waltzing to "After the Ball" and having amazing voice singing to me was a highlight indeed.
Thank you for sharing. I really hope this production visits my city. I'm stumped how these performers have inhuman agility to sing and dance so fast without breaking a sweat. I bow down to them all! And I'm totally fangirling over those marvelous costumes. :)
Manuel Orozco How lucky you are to have see it live. I hope it rolls back around to my state. I saw a video with the original cast on Broadway. The show most certainly does seem delightful as well as visually stunning. :) Did you see Paige Faure, Kaitlyn Davidson or one of the understudies in the role as Ella?
Manuel Orozco Is Kaitlyn a soprano, belter or does she use a mixed voice for this role? I take it the "magical costume transformations" went off without a hitch then when you saw the show? ;)
Paige isn't dancing up there by herself! Andy Huntington Jones is also a great dancer. The choreography for this number is more difficult than the choreography for Osnes & Santino, because Osnes & Santino just aren't as talented as Andy & Paige in the dancing department. Andy is now on Broadway in "Cats", in which you must be an excellent dancer to make the cast, with the exception of the Grizabella & Deutoronomy roles. Santino or Laura could never make the cast for a show like "Cats", which requires superior dancing skills.
They are both the best dancers among all the other pairs, and gosh this is coming from someone who loves Osnes. But these 2 are just brilliant in this number. The voices, the way they portray the emotions (I love her expressions throughout the whole thing) and most important, it seems they are indeed flying and floating effortless through the stage. It shows better than all the others I've seen how cinderella and the prince fell in love and had fun dancing at the ball. It's so rare and ethereal to watch. Wish I could watch the whole show with the pair.
Of course you do, because the choreography is more complex in this performance of Cinderella. Andy Jones and Paige Faure have superior dancing skills to that of Laura Osnes & Santino Fontana. That's why the choreography for this number is more complex and impressive than the performance of Osnes & Fontana. Also Andy Jones is taller and better looking than Santino Fontana. Jones better fits the role of Prince Topher physically than Santino.
You're correct, for one, Jones and Faure performed more dance lifts than Fontana & Osnes in this number and are dancing throughout the scene. I also prefer this number performed by Andy and Paige. The choreography is beautiful.
[TOPHER] Ten minutes ago, I saw you I looked up when you came through the door My head started reeling You gave me the feeling The room had no ceiling or floor Ten minutes ago, I met you And we murmured our "How do you do's?" I wanted to ring out the bells And fling out my arms And to sing out the news "I have found her, she's an angel With the dust of the stars in her eyes We are dancing, we are flying And she's taking me back to the skies" In the arms of my love, I'm flying Over mountain and meadow and glen And I like it so well That for all I can tell I may never come down again I may never come down to earth again [ELLA] Ten minutes ago, I met you And we murmured our "How do you do's?" I wanted to ring out the bells And fling out my arms And to sing out the news I have found him In the arms of my love, I'm flying Over mountain and meadow and glen And I like it so well That for all I can tell I may never come down again [ELLA & TOPHER] I may never come down to earth again
I just saw Cinderella in Costa Mesa a couple weeks ago and Andy Jones has a nice voice. However, another girl played the title role. This scene is so beautifully choreographed.
Manuel Orozco When I saw the tour, a different girl played Cinderella, it was Andy Jones girlfriend/now wife, Audrey Cardwell. I'm glad I saw her instead of Paige. I do not like Paige's interpretation of Cinderella... she is too rambunctious? I don't know how to put it into words. She has a good voice but I felt it to be a bit too strong for Cinderella. But I do think she is talented, I just didn't like her as Cinderella.
I was thinking the same thing watching this video (I haven't seen the show) - I love Paige's dancing, but her voice is too heavy. There aren't many true soprano roles these days; I wish they'd LEAVE them to sopranos who don't insist on belting!
I found it so funny how much it looked like her back arched in that giant skirt, I don’t know if she is actually that flexible or not but even being able to move around in that dress do well is impressive
I'm in Cinderella this year at my school, and idk how we would afford a bunch of big poofy dresses but I REALLY hope we do this scene with a bunch of big poofy dresses
I love this song but it's so weird to me that they didn't change the key in the beginning for the tour, resulting in Ella singing much lower. Does anyone know why? The 2013 had a small key change for Ella and it was so nice. Beautifully execued here, however.
I will forever be partial to actor Stuart Damon, the handsome prince of soap operas, when he sang this in the 1965 CBS Holiday special of Cinderella. In that his singing just flowed and it was beautiful. This actor is also awesome but in the beginning of the song he's pronouncing each word individually instead of singing it in a flowing style. as if he is being cautious of each word pronounced instead of singing it all together. IMO but I still love this couple together.
Please, you can't compare a televised version of Cinderella in which the actors most likely had 100 takes before making a final cut of this number. It's much more difficult to perform this number live on stage in 1 take like the performance in this video. Also I guarantee that Andy Jones and Paige Faure are much better dancers than Stuart Damon and Leslie Ann Warren.
The original production of this was in 1957 for live TV. Julie Andrews and Jon Cypher played these roles. That production was very squeezed for time. This production allowed the number to breathe, and the result is wonderful.
+Khavon McGowan There are no videos on my site, just screencaps from them. Show traders can use these to judge the quality of the footage and see if they are interested in trading for them.
Does anybody have the full show of this cast? I absolutely did not like Keke Palmer. I was hoping there'd be a full show of Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana, too?
Compare the choreography for this number performed by Andy Jones & Paige Faure, who are superior dancers, to that of Osnes and Fontana. The choreography is much more complex for Jones & Faure. Andy Jones is taller and better looking than Santino and physically fits the role of Prince Topher better than Santino, who I don't think is attractive at all.
Forget this previous comment. Indeed, there IS a complete video of the Fontana/Osnes version, just look up on UA-cam "orphan osnes falls in love with gopher prince", you'll find the first act and surely enough, the second quite easily. :)
Interesting that they cast a mezzo to sing the role of Cinderella. She is a good singer - and dancer- but her voice is a little too deep for the role, in my opinion.
Andy Jones is taller & better looking than Santino, as he took over the role of Prince Topher on Broadway when Santino left. Andy Jones also sings this number just as well or better than Santino. I definitely prefer Andy Jones, especially because he's better looking and taller than Santino. Andy looks more princely. lol
+Gioo oo 1) It's called an opinion, you don't have to agree with it. 2) "Laura and Santino are more better" I'm afraid the same cannot be said for your grammar. 3) Sorry but cast members usually only stay on Broadway for a year or two, not forever. Much less stick around to be in the tour.
No, Laura and Santino aren't better, they're just from the original cast of the Broadway revival. Actually Andy Jones took over on Broadway as Prince Topher when Santino left the show. Andy Jones sings this number just as well or better than Santino, and he's much better looking and taller than Santino. Santino isn't very good looking in my eyes. Andy is better looking.
You're absolute right! Andy & Paige are more advanced dancers than Laura & Santino. That's why the choreography for this number is more complex than that for Laura & Santino. This is much more impressive than the performance of this number by Osnes & Fontana.
The ensemble’s vocal in the reprise gives me chills every time... the layers!!!!
It’s like 4-5 different parts
Yess the LAYERS
The dancing and the twirling dresses are just so... sigh 😍
You're so caught up in that moment!
she can arch her back oh my god. this is amazing
I was just cast as Cinderella in my high school’s production and I am SO excited. This song and this whole show are so beautiful and I can’t wait to bring it to life!
That is so awesome, congratulations!!!!! I’m doing Cinderella for my high school’s production as well, I’m in the ensemble though!
@@pine.app.le-pizz.a𝚜𝚊𝚖𝚎!!✨✨
These harmonies get me every time, world class ensemble
The ensemble’s vocals in the reprise
Gives me the chills down my spine
Because I honestly do love this song ten minutes ago
The duet "10 Minutes Ago" and the "Waltz For A Ball" were beautifully-sung and danced.
When this production came to my area in 2016, I went THREE times that week cuz I loved it so much!
We just did this at our high school, and this song brings me chills every time. Especially the Time Change and reprise section with those dark piano chimes going into those beautiful flying harmonies from the ensemble, just an absolute emotional roller coaster
This is my all time classics. I'm feeling snuggle and warm. I love Cinderella Movies.🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I love this version of Cinderella

+Silver54ful Trust me. Cinderella is magical and hilarious new version of the classic fairy tale
Manuel Orozco How lucky you are to have see it live. I hope it rolls back around to my state.

Did you see Paige Faure, Kaitlyn Davidson or one of the understudies in the role as Ella?
Silver54ful Katilyn Davidson
Silver54ful And it was a not great but really good show and it is delightful and the costumes are what makes the production stunning the most.
Manuel Orozco Is Kaitlyn a soprano, belter or does she use a mixed voice for this role?

Paige Faure's dancing is phenomenal here!!!

Easy certification
Oh My GOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDD
I really Love This Sceneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee......
I love this Broadway version of Cinderella its Spectacular , bibnly great joy to watch anytime.
I give it 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and 2 👍👍.
I LOVED THIS CAST SO MUCH

my heart stopped beating for 6:35 minutes and i'm so okay with it that i'm crying
yeah. same here.
My favourite scene .... so much love in it!
Oh this is a different reprise that I never heard of! This reprise is really cool
They probably added it for the tour, when tours happen writers often add to the shows when they leave Broadway
Thank you! my high school, is putting on this and we are doing the exact same dance. i’m cinderella so this helps =)
she literally dances the least lmao 💀
Andy and Paige have so far been the best replacements for Santino and Laura. I still love Santino and Laura the best though
I saw them on tour. Andy was part of the original Broadway cast.

Wow i love the prince and Cinderella dance performance they have really voices too ..... their meeting for the first time remind me of reality

The girl who played Ella was Kathlyn Davidson. By the way, congrats to Andy Jones's wedding

I got Prince in my school play and really hope I get to sing this song!🤞🤞
Sorry to disappoint the Carly Rae haters - but she's OUTSTANDING - so is the guy playing the Prince.
THAT'S who that is???
I saw this wonderful play in 2014 July in Broadway NY.
Ten minutes ago this song popped into my mind.
I found it so funny how much it looked like her back arched in that giant skirt, I don’t know if she is actually that flexible or not but even being able to move around in that dress do well is impressive

I want the full show as well

Jewbrew prince?

It seems slow.
Topher? When did that become the nickname for Christopher, instead of Chris?
The Prince has an amazing voice, but he acts like he's afraid to touch her at the beginning of the song!

This version of Cinderella is just as good as the 1965 version and the 1997 with Brandy combined.
Wow, you have to be as old as dirt to recall a performance from 1965. That little known actor you're talking about is old as dirt as well or dead.
Please, you can't compare a televised version of Cinderella in which the actors most likely had 100 takes before making a final cut of this number. Reminds me of Anna and hans but no happily ever after
Elsa's quote (you can't marry a man you just met) but Cinderella married charming the day after the ball
Do you have the full show
So hans is the evil prince charming
I like the tempo from the movie more
You have the whole show?
+Khavon McGowan Yes, I do! It's listed on my site; the link's in the description.
+Khavon McGowan yeah its not working for me either
+Khavon McGowan There are no videos on my site, just screencaps from them. Show traders can use these to judge the quality of the footage and see if they are interested in trading for them.
this is the link for the whole show...but the quality is not so good

U2 sing beautifully

J😮and the new ones I sent 😮😅
I'm cinderella
Interesting that they cast a mezzo to sing the role of Cinderella. She is a good singer - and dancer- but her voice is a little too deep for the role, in my opinion.
I mean... she’s singing the notes just the same as a soprano would. her voice feels mature for the role though, you’re right.
Maybe because we are used to mandy and the blue dress
But i like her vioce she Sounds like Ariel
This one is too slow.
strange choreography.
Andy Jones is taller & better looking than Santino, as he took over the role of Prince Topher on Broadway when Santino left. Andy Jones also sings this number just as well or better than Santino. I definitely prefer Andy Jones, especially because he's better looking and taller than Santino. Andy looks more princely. lol
I'm not too fond of the dresses, I think they're a bit too colorful, but it's a beautiful performance
I saw this last August. Andy and Paige are AMAZING, they're better than Laura and Santino in my opinion.
No! laura and santino more better
I saw it last April with Andy and Katilyn Davidson
+Gioo oo 1) It's called an opinion, you don't have to agree with it. 2) "Laura and Santino are more better" I'm afraid the same cannot be said for your grammar. 3) Sorry but cast members usually only stay on Broadway for a year or two, not forever. Much less stick around to be in the tour.
