It is very encouraging to see the establishment of these food forests. Congratulations to the NGO’s involved and all the farmers and communities involved in this amazing project.
I love the resilience of food forests. The woman’s comment at the end, about how it is now a heirloom, that with the knowledge passed down, will thrive through many generations.
Most people in Senegal are Muslim, and in Islam we refer to this as “sadaqa jarriyya” or “ongoing charity” - a charity that continues giving benefit to communities of people, plants, animals for many generations to come.
My favorite saying is: "Best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. Second best is to do it now." Great initiative which seems to result in immediate and graspable improvements.

One thing I said on Andrews channel is that if you make people self-sufficient where they can feed their families you have more resources so people aren't fighting over them and that in turn means we have less terrorism because scarcity is what really pushes it on the continent of Africa. There are so many different benefits to what you guys are doing it's amazing. I hope that one day what you guys do spreads to the entire world and I mean all the people as well so that people will start caring about the land more and stop cutting down our forests.
It is wonderful that this is being done. This not only helps the land and wildlife but helps with the economy as well. It's always better to become self sufficient and living in ,on, and with the land. Less concrete more plants and food.😊

'Green walls against desertification'. Digging holes in the ground, to not only catch rain water but hold it without flooding and hidden grass seeds will grow. Add trees around them and so the growing green will not only secure water for any human/animal community but start to cool down the area and block any harsh hot winds. Brilliant! ❤️ If you have a garden, grow a tree ❤️ I am! If you see an ugly patch of bare ground in the full sun, drop some flower seeds ❤️

Good luck!
@@michaelbowers5675 I agree, I started a Food Forest (zone 6a) in 2021. For now I planted 35 edible perennial plants, and this year I harvest a half of them. It wasn't very much, but in next years it will be more.
Awesome project! Really proud to be able to contribute to this wonderful initiative ❤
I love that you have partnered with Andrew for this video!

As a Mossy Earth backer that just stumbled upon your channel after UA-cam recommended it to me, I am impressed by your work. And it makes me happy to know that there are so many people out there fighting for the future. I'll gladly join Planet Wild as a backer as well. Keep up the great work!

This is a perfect example of how humans and nature can coexist. I've been thinking of trying to plant my own food forest for a long time. Guess I'll get busy this spring!
That's awesome to hear! 💚 It's important that everybody does their share - no matter how small or big. Wishing you best on your food forest journey! 💚🌱
