Love old houses. What stories they could tell. Stories of better and simpler times. Maybe hard economic times? None the less rich history. Such a shame to see an old house dilapidated and forgotten, enjoying the video however. Love the southern accent. Reminds me of some of my family that’s passed on. I miss them all so much! Blessings!
Thanks for a great explore! Sweet vernacular buildings, loved the upstairs door to balcony, and the 4 paned windows, too bad the mantles were gone. It looks like the bathroom fixtures were from a 40's update.
I really enjoyed this one. The square top appliance in the kitchen was an old style hot water heater. I grew up with one of those in our kitchen in our farmhouse. Back then it was sort of normal for them to be placed in kitchens.
She's right my grandparents had one ,and a pump brought water in from a cistern. They were out in the country. Still used an outhouse clear into the 70's.
The side room with "high faluten" wall paper could have been Granny's suite. "Persian Posy" popped into my head when I saw that design. It came into fashion along with the Paisley curved teardrop designs. Those rooms feel like an "in-law" area. They put in a bath so old people didn't have to use the outhouse and a quiet porch away from noisy kids. Next to kitchen so Granny could help with cooking. Upstairs, that curved, flimsy metal frame thing looks like a "collapsible bustle". Tied around woman's waist to support back of skirts but it folded/ collapsed up enough to allow them to sit. A fox probably got the vulture and left the boney wing parts.
High falute'n! LOL That pretty much describes the house. It had to be a showplace at one time. Do you do a tick check before you get back into the car? You should have handed that owl a tootsie pop. I understand they know how many licks it takes to get to the center. I enjoyed the tour, thanks.
@digittbr1688 LOL a tootsie pop would have been sufficient! I do check for ticks absolutely. I found one on my neck about a month ago and I didn't feel the least bit hi falute'n 🙃 after that.
Absolutely beautiful and so glad I came across your channel this evening. This is the type of stuff I was doing since i was a kid, and my husband and I continue our searches for historic places here in NC. Your presentation is so comfortable and inspiring - thank you so much for bringing this forward - new subscriber tonight ✨
The building with the Pepsi cooler had that long curved shelves running along the entire width which could have been a counter base plus the 'fancy' shelf on the wall so it may have been a store back in the day
Hi Lady! Perfect timing for me but a little too late for the beautiful columns and gingerbread wood work! Very old indeed. Enjoy reading history in the layers of paper and paint. Thanks for the great tour…
Amazing victorian home! It could still be restored if the owner wanted to save this house. That was a countertop water heater in the kitchen next to the sink. I think you can still buy that style of water heater today. We had one years ago. The Owl 🦉 was a great ending to the video!
The stereo can be cleaned up. I used to repair vintage stereos like that when I was 13 years old it's always the same thing wrong with them. Bad capacitors.

Sometimes folks just need a little light hearted nudge to be pointed in the right direction. You're the one that is actually out there doing the research, the logistics, the legwork. It also appears you do the recording and the editing. I'm sure there is a lot of effort put into these videos that some might not consider. All the viewer has to do is log in and push a button. You come across as humble, no nonsense, practical, intelligent lady that can express yourself to other people while you're doing all this. Most people wouldn't take the steps you take even though they might want to. They might look at old place and think, "I wonder what that place looks like inside?" Your curiosity makes you open that door or go into the basement. I appreciate your content and effort.
@digittbr1688 thank you for all your kind words! I enjoy doing this, exploring is one of my favorite things to do. It does take some effort and time with the editing but it's worth it ,especially when people like you subscribe and watch. I appreciate you !
I love this old house and hate the fact that it's going to ruin. Just a beautiful place. I hope somebody gets it and re renovates it, so it doesn't just crumble to the ground.Just a shame.
I appreciate that you showed us the homestead. But you have to control your filming skills. You quickly jump from one direction to another. Makes us dizzy.
That,s true. You would have to have a structural engineer evaluate the house for any structural damage. Some time these places are too far gone But you can salvage the hardware and wood to repurpose.
The extra room down stairs was the winter bedroom and the wide windows 🪟 upstairs was the summer bedroom to let the cool air in. Each season the opposite rooms would be closed up. The upstairs windows had long weights in each side, hung inside the walls. Don’t be scared of the owl, he was probably sitting and waiting for that RAT 🐀 to come out of that hole 🕳️. They can wait all day and nigh🫣
@@talesfromthenarcside8543 I wear the snake boots from academy on our land but if the grass was that high or the barn, I don’t think I would go in it, esp. summertime 😬. I saw a snake longer than my car cross the street so I ran over but seeing that owl tells me you were safe. They eat snakes.

Really cool place and cool video.
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing. ✨👍❤
Cool place. That barn looks like it might have been a general store with the long counter and Pepsi cooler.
It must have been a lovely farmhouse back in the day. The woodwork is beautiful and the wallpaper are very Happy.❤❤❤
Whoa. This is so awesome. Loved the video. Very vintage. Thank you for the share
I like your style. You show everything so patiently . Other explorers Lina rush through! Awesome
Oh I love this one! The cool layers of wallpaper are so fun. How sad its been left to rot. 😢 That owl was just tryin to take a nap.

Ahhh I was thinking water softener.
The cottage behind my home has one in it
I love the music you chose for the ending. Leaning on the everlasting arms. Love it. Thank you.

That object in the room with the kitchen that resembles a dishwasher or stove is an electric water heater
Neat old place- fun to tour :)
Was beautiful in it's day
Pretty fancy.
I can only imagine how beautiful this house was. So sad to see it destroyed like this.

That place had a lot of character.
Yes it's certainly unique!
I'm at a loss for words. What a house 🎉🎉
Still beautiful.
Often in those Victorian homes, they would have a sitting room off of the bedroom, maybe that is what the "step down " room was?
My guess is that place been empty since the 70s. I'm pretty sure that old barn with the Pepsi machine was a General store

Water heater electric great video
My mom had a high fi like that. Had to leave it in Germany cause it wouldn't work here in the states.
Gorgeous!!!
Will do it up in shabby chic when my ship comes in. N
Too bad you couldn’t hit a button for that bathroom mirror and a replay of all the past faces that stood in front of it 😊
That could be a summer kitchen in one of the outbuildings
Enjoyed this video. Love places like this and wonder or find the history behind it. Why was it abandoned? ❤😊

Possibly a water heater.
Nice find
That’s a hot water heater.
I wonder if you had a long extension cord and a power inverter if you plugged in the stereo if it would still play a record.
@colbycrawford8969 that's a good question 🤔
It's got pcp pipe under that sink 😮
It's a water heater. We had one like that
That General electric appliance is A hot water heater
