I always find it funny when Minnesotans say "up in Canada" when they're referring to southern Ontario, which is considerably further south than Minnesota
Hi Ken, in your continuation of behind-the-scenes tours, would you be able to show us what sort of facilities you provide for your volunteers, back of house, lunch rooms etc, training etc. thanks for your efforts
Ken--this is fantastic. There are a few of these dedicated restoration folk's around and they are indeed much appreciated. When I was a 8 or 9, my dad was called to brakeman an extra weed burner move from Glenwood to Belgrade MN and I got to go along. Coming home on train 105 the Enderlin local, they had an extra car on, business car #48. Someone asked my day what was I doing riding along and he told them, and I was invited into the business car for the trip back to Glenwood. I never forgot the smells of the interior of that car. A number of years ago I visited the museum in St. Louis and there they have the 48. I told a woman volunteer my story and she went and got a key and let me in the car. It was as I remembered it, and I think the smells might have been the same as back in the late 40s. I don't think they have done any restoration on that car and even a roof leak has damaged some of the interior, I wish you had it at LS to be cared for. Thank you for the trip of Nostalgia.
Another great video. It should be noted that the Museum puts out an excellent, very interesting periodical that is sent to members. Anyone is well served by joining up and supporting this place. This and the California Railroad Museum are by far the two best railroad museums in the United States.
Hi Marty and Molly: This is a beautiful restoration. I think what you have done is excellent. I wish you suvccess on te final 5.0% of teh job. I am writing from Toronto so I know the story of the Grant Trunk and the CNR now CN.. Kindest regards, Charles PS: I think the name "Molly" is very appropriate! i hope the name ilettered in gold on this car's sides as it is a golden projet!
5:27 "The light fixtures are not railroad standard" you say? Well you'll be surprised to hear that Amtrak California's Cafe Cars are actually outfitted with very similar lights at every table! And those are modern cars too!
The whole point of this video is that the restoration has taken *twelve years,* and they're still working on it! If I understand this properly, it is now Mr. Fehr's car (spelling?). While I always like historical accuracy, at least this 110-year-old car is going to ply the rails again, so there's that! :-)

recording shows on VHS, thats a blast from the past. Who remembers loading up the VCR and programing it to record at a certain time?

Hello from Kansas 🇺🇸
Love it!

Cool car
Over here in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) a portion of what was the Grand Trunk are now the Lakeshore West and Lakeshore East lines for GO Transit.
Imagine if the restored the 6325 they would look great together
This car was on our two harbors train last week when they had to take the NP car out
Dillon hey
Porter yo
You should restore this car and run this on excursion trains

snickpickle you know I didn’t ask you
So, you put modern stuff in there and changed the configurations to something that the car never was? That's rather blasphemous in my view.
🤔 Well, isn't that what happened once before, when it became a crew car? 🙄😕
