Love the content, I’m actually building a PT GT myself and that’s how I discovered your page, I got an 04 factory 5 speed, high mileage and needs some work but day by day, just got a set of BC racing coils put on it and it’s sick, those stock shocks will blow out at a much more rapid rate with the tien lowering springs (mine came with those installed) so be wary of that and maybe one day we will cross paths
Hi Jimmy, your videos has been a great source of information to keep many PT Cruisers alive!. I wish I could replicate in my PT all the improvements you have done in yours. I really need your help and guidance. I sent you and email a few days ago hopefully you have a minute to help me because to be honest is practically impossible to find a person with knowledge on how to get the best of a PT. Thanks and keep posting more videos!!! Gabe.
7:55 you messed up some wires if you never did this should have gotten with a local transmission shop for the correct wiring diagram. And cutting apart wires all at once is a big no no. You have to be extra sure you can just cap off wires that was meant for vehicle operatorion. THIS is is why I TELL PEOPLE JUST REBUILD A PERFORMANCE STYLE A604/41TE LIKE I DID AND SEE THE WONDERS OF IT WITH THE COOLER A FEW INCHES AWAY FROM THE CONDENSER. THE PRICE OF THE UNKNOWN CAN BE VERY COSTLY. I REBUILD A UNIT. FRESHEN UP THE HARNESS. AND THE CAR IS ON THE ROAD SHIFTING WITH LSD AND MANY GOODIES IN IT. AUTOMATIC PERFORMANCE BUILDS IS THE WAY TTO GO YALL.
I think I mentioned on a much earlier vid about a PCM supplier on LI. Recently talked to a friend in Florida who says there's a good place in Miami, too. They rebuild for $200. Or he got one rebuilt for his Neon. It's called Auto PCMS (creative, I know). Also, you guys need a shop hound LOL. Preferably a pound pup.
0:06 I can have you a lightning fast auto cruiser transmission like I did to mines. Running several shift kits in one billet tc. Many stronger internals.. I BUILT MINES AND ITS FLYING. AUTOMATIC FOR LIFE PLUS GOT A NEW ECM FROM SOLO AUTOMOTIVE ELECTRONICS.. MY BUILT AUTO CRUISER FLYS
Great video, Jimmy! As a former Neon owner, I was always intrigued by the PT Loo...sorry, Cruiser because I heard that it uses the same engine but in an even smaller engine bay (gotta love Chrysler). So it's interesting to see what you've done and are doing with yours. With that incredibly complicated Chrysler electrical system, good luck getting that thing to run! I look forward to the next installment. But hey..."Marcedes?" WIth an "a"? Is that how you pronounce Mercedes in your neck of the woods? ;)
Could be ECU reading as it being an auto instead of manual or could be the key itself that it needs reprogramming. Happened to me once with a Honda I’m also building a PT but I’ve never done the manual swap on it.
Might have to switch over to a manual engine and transmission wiring harness and switching over to the same year manual engine ecu then try reprogramming the key to see it that works.
@@el_puertorriqueno3313 I ve seen that you leave the park sensor connected from the center console and there is this other sensor, neutral safety switch on an auto trans you need to leave connected(just remove the sensor from the trans and leave it connected to the harness and tuck it somewhere) and it should turn right away.
The manual pt's won't start unless you put your foot on the clutch you could possibly use that to trick the ECU into thinking it's in park just for start up but the boost by gear settings in the ECU wouldn't be correct so driving it might not be a good idea but you'd be able to start it at least, the switch should be on your pedals that you swapped in it's also used for the cruise control deactivation along with the brake light switch food for thought for ya.
Ok kiddo, you will need manual transmission ecm, the key cylinder and skim and flash it to the vin of your p.t the ecm skim and key need to match. I also reccomend you get the metal intake before you run it i dont trust plastic

Great video! I’m glad you're working on the PT GT! Did you add a larger battery?

You should check the cam sensor plug it plugs in with the coil pack alot of people swap them by accident
Ohhh danggg an update!
Been almost a year. Hoping we see something soon on this car. Especially since it was soo close to being done from what we could see.

Update on how your getting on with the PT GT???

I love my auto pt. but I bought a manual because swapping is just to much of a bitch. The manual will become my new rally car.
I'm almost done swapping it's not that hard
8:00 doesnt that go below the front intake manifold? my PT GT has it
Yessir
C´mon men you can do it¡¡¡ yes chrysler it´s a pain in the butt with the electronics its very restrictive jimmy
