The first time i rode space mountain was this version of space mountain. I will always remember this no matter if its the normal version or ghost galaxy
I graduated that year and did the typical SoCal Disney thing and was pleasantly surprised by them using the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The were being played constantly that year because of Stadium Arcadium.
This version will always be the best version of space mountain for me. I’ve been wishing they brought this back for years! The regular version is fine, but this always took it to another level.
This version will always have a special place in my heart. First two times I rode SM where in 1997 when I was 5. Man was the soundtrack different back then. I come back literally ten years later and it was like this. I ended up riding it again in 2009 and on so I've seen the normal version, but still.
Amanda Nagy maybe when DCA opened but now it wouldn't make much sense. No space, and the next themed land wouldn't make any sense to have it. I'm actually kind of confused why they didn't use Aerosmith for these two rides. (Screamin had a rockin' overlay too) they already licensed a bunch Aerosmith music, and honestly it doesn't make that big of A difference having a different band.
I know that. but now that the park isn't a 90s wet dream (pardon my rude language) like it was when it opened, so it wouldn't make much sense anymore. now, if Disney wants to build an avengers ride with the layout of rock 'n' roller coaster in the new marvel land, I am completely down with that!
I remember the Screamin' overlay too. They played Around the World by RHCP. I'd rather have RHCP as the band than Aerosmith though because they're from the West Coast and Aerosmith is an East Coast band so it makes sense for Aero to be in WDW. No Doubt isn't 'rock and roll' enough for it to be the soundtrack for a West Coast Rockin' Rollercoaster.
Guests hated that it revealed the ride’s track, which ruined what makes Space Mountain so thrilling. It also came off as very cheap, just throwing some flashy lights up here and there.
I had to look this up because I had a vague memory of this and it turns out it ACTUALLY HAPPENED. Although I thought the song that played was can’t stop but I could be wrong.
I only got one ride on this version but I can assure you this was an absolute blast. Higher Ground had those rockets thumping with intense bass! One of the RHCP best songs
all Disney ride videos should be edited like this. Where the audio is replaced. If this was just straight audio from the camera, it’d just be *PFFFFFTFFPFPFPFPFPFPFPT* and screams. They have some in this video, but it’s drastically reduced. It’s great.
I love the fast paced punk section they built into the original song. Disney did a good job incorporating the song into the ride and it's cool to see a punk song used in a Disneyland attraction. Wish I had gotten to see this when I was younger, maybe they'll bring it back.
@Cole Doucette Higher Ground has a punk section RHCP added in like I've explained in the original comment at the end of the song. Flea notably was also in the hardcore band FEAR and the group of them all had various punk influences in their music.
I went on this ride on my first ever trip to Disneyland and it was rockin space mountain. I was petrified. Just wish they’d do this again with the same soundtrack. Now I’ll be able to enjoy it more since I’ve been on the ride several times.
I honestly think the best part of Disneyland’s Space Mountain And WDWS Space Mountain is that you can’t see where your going next. All you are doing is zooming through stars. And then you drop straight down.
I do think they should bring it back but swap out the music each time. So if there's a big music festival (rock, metal, EDM, or Coachella) they can turn the audio to be a headliner of said festival. The only hard one would be metal because of how many metal bands use non-family language, but Disney would find a way.
Dang back when I would spend $356 for an annual deluxe pass and the only time of the year you we're blocked out was the week of Christmas and a week after New Year's.
I am actually more curious about the switch Track... the normal loading Plattform is used, but then also the switch track? Never been there so i dont understand the loading system.
I actually went on this and I thought it was going to be the original ride... (I remember being scared to that day since I was a kid when I rode the 1995 version) then I saw an astronaut with an electric guitar then I thought "OH MY GOD!!!! I FORGOT THIS IS GOING TO HAVE RHCP MUSIC!!!" It was quite the experience! cant wait to ride the original because this version is what cured me of my fear of this ride! (Yep I was That big of a wuss as a kid...)
Well, the '95 version does give off a creepy aura at first, having heard the soundtrack. But the buildup is nice, especially one the surf guitar comes in and it becomes nothing but fun.
Rockin Space Mountain is returning in April ...... however there are 2 changes to it..... it'll be Rockin HYPERSPACE MOUNTAIN and the song will be Rebel Rebel by the late David Bowie
As crazy as this sounds, I was not a fan of this version of Space Mountain. I feel like the bright lights ruined the magical feeling of traveling through space. The music was still awesome though.
What sounds crazy to me is the fact that the majority of the people in the comment section seemed to have liked this. I think it looks horrible, to be perfectly honest. I am glad it has never come back...
The first time i rode space mountain was this version of space mountain. I will always remember this no matter if its the normal version or ghost galaxy
Literally the most random combination ever: Red Hot Chili Peppers, and rocketing through space, but it worked.
I know this.
They had the Chili Peppers on Screaming at DCA too. Rockin' California Screamin' it was a blast on both
No reverse
No stop no blood-😢
More than 10 years later, I still think about this version of the ride. It was truly the best one.
I graduated that year and did the typical SoCal Disney thing and was pleasantly surprised by them using the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The were being played constantly that year because of Stadium Arcadium.

This was the best time of my life wheni rode this. I was 11, im 18 now i want it back!! Please disney!
SAME
Same
Same didn’t even realize how legendary it was at the time
“You ROCKED the universe!”
Is there any greater accomplishment in existence?
This version will always have a special place in my heart. First two times I rode SM where in 1997 when I was 5. Man was the soundtrack different back then. We need our own Rockin' Roller Coaster with RHCP instead of Aerosmith.. It can totally fit within Hollywood Studios.
Amanda Nagy maybe when DCA opened but now it wouldn't make much sense. No space, and the next themed land wouldn't make any sense to have it. Amanda Nagy RHCP is perfect
green day
i wonder why disney never went back to doing this again. it was pretty cool
Probably didn’t want to deal with licensing again.
Rockin space mountain starring Aerosmith
Guests hated that it revealed the ride’s track, which ruined what makes Space Mountain so thrilling. It also came off as very cheap, just throwing some flashy lights up here and there.
@@HauntFreak13 Oof :( tbh I dont mind it, but I can see how some people probably think that
They should bring it back every other summer its just a overlay just like mansion gets one for xmas
I had to look this up because I had a vague memory of this and it turns out it ACTUALLY HAPPENED. Although I thought the song that played was can’t stop but I could be wrong.
Yeah I thought it was a more California themed rhcp song I didn’t even know that this song was chili peppers
@@ganjackbogle876 it's a cover of a Stevie Wonder song
when i was a 7 during this i was a huge fan of the red hot chilly peppers and this is what got me to ride this
Good times
Good times I went in 2007 too but I was 17 years old you can really be a kid in Disney world or land
Space mountain in disneyland has been through so much hell omg.
God your weird . what a strange comment
Yeah and that Discoveryland phase
@@julieherms *you're. What a strange reply.

Now wait until you hear about that one time they had to rebuild the whole ride practically from the ground up
this is such a 2000s thing, how has dallin from offhand disney not done a video of all the space mountain variations yet?
Papa Disney hasn't pay him to talk about it yet
I rode this so many times! It was so cool to hear uncle Joe from KLOS.
Wow the bass on this is louder than on the record
I was at disneyland during the year of a million dreams
I only got one ride on this version but I can assure you this was an absolute blast. Higher Ground had those rockets thumping with intense bass! One of the RHCP best songs
I don't understand how I missed this! Bring it back!!!

I love rhcp but they’re nowhere near punk bro 😭
@Cole Doucette Higher Ground has a punk section RHCP added in like I've explained in the original comment at the end of the song. Flea notably was also in the hardcore band FEAR and the group of them all had various punk influences in their music.
Bring this back!! Disneyland version of rock n roller coaster
I loved this version of the ride. This was when I was first getting into Red Hot Chili Peppers.
I went on this ride on my first ever trip to Disneyland and it was rockin space mountain. I was petrified. Just wish they’d do this again with the same soundtrack. Now I’ll be able to enjoy it more since I’ve been on the ride several times.
This footage is incredible.
This looks amazing bring it back please 🔥🔥🔥
Didn't expect red hot chilli peppers to be the main theme of this, but I'm glad because californication and can't stop are good songs :D
man I miss this verison, bring it back!!!!!
I miss this. 😪
They should bring this back every Coachella...
It was similar at our Rock n' Roller coaster at Disneyland Paris but without catapulting 🤩🤩🤩
They need to bring this back! This was so awesome
I honestly think the best part of Disneyland’s Space Mountain And WDWS Space Mountain is that you can’t see where your going next. All you are doing is zooming through stars. And then you drop straight down.
This was so awesome....this and California screaming.....they should do more like it.
now could this ever make a comeback or another variation??? I like these mini overlays: ghost galaxy, rockin Space, just not hyperspace
I bet this was the inspiration for the Paris version of Rockin' Rollercoaster
This was so random but I liked it. Haha. Glad it was only temporary though. Same with Rockin California Screamin.
I do think they should bring it back but swap out the music each time. So if there's a big music festival (rock, metal, EDM, or Coachella) they can turn the audio to be a headliner of said festival. rct3isepic Coachella and edm that is disgraceful
How am I just now coming across this?!
Bring this back
recklessranger it does too much light
Good times glad i experience it!
So damn cool
Dang back when I would spend $356 for an annual deluxe pass and the only time of the year you we're blocked out was the week of Christmas and a week after New Year's.
This makes so much more sense now
then ghost galaxy came along :/
still better than Hyperspace Mountain
what’s wrong with ghost galaxy
best special overlay
Like it or not it was a fun little overlay for the ride
Not sure if rockin space mountain was released the same year ghost galaxy was added but both sure were fun.
Whoo Yeah Reminds me Power Rangers movie. I remember in my memory I love Versions Rockin’, Original and Ghost Galaxy and Hyperspace Space Mountain. 🤩
Bring this back Disney
So it was like rokin roller coaster?
Good times 😭🍻
The one at Magic Kingdom needs music
how did they retrack this if arrow is gone?
I am actually more curious about the switch Track... the normal loading Plattform is used, but then also the switch track? Never been there so i dont understand the loading system.
That is for disabled guests! They get in through that cart by an accessible entrance and transfer over.
It’s funny how the first “Higher Ground” occurs during the drop.
This is how it was when I rode it for the first time. I was only 3.
I loved this! but i like the RHCP tho lol
i ride a space mountain it is an original version but this video is real or fake
Which... Higher Ground was originally a Stevie Wonder song that RHCP covered. #themoreYOUknow
So jealous. I wish I could have been here during this. But at least I've been here.
I actually went on this and I thought it was going to be the original ride... jetraydude true that
This or Rockin' California Screamin?
Rockin Space Mountain is returning in April ...... however there are 2 changes to it..... it'll be Rockin HYPERSPACE MOUNTAIN and the song will be Rebel Rebel by the late David Bowie
That wouldbe awesome, but I've yet to see confirmation on that. All I see is Hyperspace mountain
I know it's very Unlikely, but I wanna see Space Mountain with Avenged Sevenfold's Bat Country
I feel like having a Guardians Of The Galaxy version of this at nighttime would be a pretty cool idea.
yeah they should play songs by the R.H.C.P and have colored lights in the gantey lift as they are breaking out
Everyone knows the red hot chili 🌶️ were out of this world
How man came here after March madness?
Who agrees Hyperspace mountain is the best version of this ride ?
👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
This was the ride that traumatized me for life from roller coasters jesus
Cameron Cabrera it goes at 30 mpr
I would love to see Disney do this again, but No Doubt instead of Red Hot Chili Peppers
I would much rather get this back every year than stupid Hyperspace Mountain.
As crazy as this sounds, I was not a fan of this version of Space Mountain. I feel like the bright lights ruined the magical feeling of traveling through space. The music was still awesome though.

What the heck? I thought the point of a Space mountain was to
Travel through space...
I thought this was an april fools joke disneyland made on april fools
Power Rangers Song😂
