This game is an absolute nightmare, and not because it's the way it is. Let me tell you all the tale of a game called "Worlds Adrift": Worlds Adrift was an MMO sandbox game where players could design and build their own flying ships to traverse a vast and dangerous world. Players could work together, fight each other, or travel alone. Materials actually mattered for how your ship functioned- the wings, the engines, the hull, the frame, everything! Also had a surprisingly satisfying and good grappling hook mechanic, used to traverse islands or even your own ships (or raiding someone else's). The art style was unique and honestly more pleasing than most cartoony styles, and people would not expect it, but WA was developed by Bossa Studios. But let me highlight a key word: *[was]* It was in early access it's whole life, and the devs dropped it because "not enough people were supporting it", even though there was one hell of a supporting community behind it. They halted development, shut down the servers, and gave the community nothing... THEN THEY FUCKING MADE "I AM FISH"

So with a very "light" game and still a load of people playing and supporting it, it boggles me how it died still. And what hurt more wasn't the death, but what Bossa could've done at the funeral. Not to go too deep but a prime example: Toontown. Disney created and ran the Toontown MMO for a while, until at some point they didn't want to run the servers anymore and wanted to drop the project just like Bossa in this situation. BUT, instead of outright killing it, they shut the servers down, and gave the game assets to the community for THEM to run the game. And that's how Toontown Rewritten exists, it's the community rebirth of Toontown. I'm not sure of all the legal bits, but if Bossa could've just done us that, that would've been fine.
J's immediate reaction to the jar is gold, especially because that level is the one where I uninstalled the game because of how fucking unfun the jar is lmao
Don’t worry you aren’t missing anything. That bridge section sucked ass, and right after I finished that section I selected another fish and the mission involved the jar with even worse areas to navigate including cars that are randomly closer and further from the wall so you get pissed off as soon as the level begins only to see the sheer amount of travelling you have to do with the jar from a better view point. I quit the game then and there and hated that I wasted time on the bridge section.
Game is funny but controls are crazy. Makes you want to turn the fish into sushi (though only the piranha would probably be the only one with enough meat to do so).
I could easily imagine the game turning into a fishy murder simulator halfway through. Each fish rolling their own trail of bloody vengeance until reunited.
