Very nice chains, awesome technic and thank you so much for sharing it. The pipe is alright I guess, it is hard to make the cover part. I would definately mess it up.
I often have trouble creating details, as the GS tends to flatten or contort whenever I apply pressure. Do you let it sit for a little while, before you start shaping it? I made some wires/tubes, and let them cure for about 5 hours before fixing them to the model, and that seemed to help keep the general shape, but I can't quite tell what the ideal time frame is for different kinds of sculpts.
Thank you for the question, both techniques are right its really up to you when you use them. I don't normally wait before starting to sculpt, unless I need a hard back peace to bush against.
It does indeed seem to be a question of timing - I had some free-floating tubes that kept collapsing on me, and I had to build a very intricate system to keep them in place, involving the head of a space marine, a cork from a bottle and a cigarette bud! But letting it cure for about 5-6 hours kept the shape tight, and then I just had to wait for the glue to keep the two ends in place. I would love to see a video on how to make harder pieces, like armor or sheets of metal, and how to get that sharp edge! I tried some different ideas, but it always ends up looking more organic, because it doesn't have those rigid lines and corners.
For hanging pipes and things it will be better to let them cure a bit, maybe pin them as well unless you are going to add more green stuff over the join. As for hard edges for armour I struggle with that myself, over time I will try to get a video out about it.
The ribs, intestines, spine , all covered up too much, all that effort and beautiful nasty sculpting, covered up! Personally I would have left it open, deeper wounds, paint could make it look so good, awesome tutorial man!
Thats because its still not been finished. This ear we are moving the green stuff and converting videos into 10 minute vlogs , so this on and the demon tank will all be in a playlist.
this is mind blowing. reaaaaaaaally want to see the painted model...

Thank you very much! Its all just practice. If you get it wrong just try again.
I just ordered green stuff can't wait
Green stuff can be a lot of fun, we recommend silicone sculpting tools, they are a lot better than wax sculpting tools.
Great il look into it
Wonderful video! Tried all of it, and it (sort of) worked!
Thanks, just keep fiddling with it till your happy.

Gonna look forward to this in paint. The chains came out pretty well, Suitably bulky to match the model.
Thanks jonsonator, Ionly had a few attempts before making the video so no expert on making chains.
amazing! thanks for sharing your insights! Really helpful!
You are welcome.
Really love this! are you planning on continuing this series?
Yes we will be continuing this series and hopefully finishing fluffy off with a paint job.

Thank you. You might be right about covering up to much, we will have to see when its painted.
You guys should link the finishing of this, impossible to find dredging thru your video list.
