If you can get crew members laughing at their own show (most likely already know what the jokes will be), that's much more genuine then audience cheering just to cheer.
As a Moldovan citizen, just saying when the war started, there was no doubt that Ukraine is fighting a battle for us too. As sad as that sounds, Moldova is an easy target, with no army and bitter aftertaste from the last Transnistrian war.
I suppose a warned man is worth two. I'd start preparations for defense, or get out of the country

Moldova has a separatist region called Transnistria which Russia has been quietly supporting for years but hasn't officially recognized yet. It will be the same story as South Ossetia, Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk.

Let me correct you there. Russia isn’t supporting Transnistria, it created it. Just like it created South Ossetia, Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk, and just like it kept meddling in the internal affairs of all Eastern European countries formerly in its sphere of influence. He didn’t just wake up and decide to start a war, this has been in the works for 22 years, and started a long time ago. He just released the tanks now. And he has a very transparent motive - gas and oil. Europe is dependent on Russia for gas and oil. Ukraine has gas but no money to start extracting it - getting closer to the west means it can get the investment and replace Russia as the gas supplier of Europe.
Somehow all recent wars seem to be wars for oil and gas, no matter what anyone calls them.
America we love baseball, but we hate patience... wow Ronny just summed the basic problem with America, thanks Ronny people need to hear that more often.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Baseball games go on for hours and they play about a thousand games in a season. 3-4 games in a row. A lot more work than other sports, even though you only get to bat every once in a while.
My sister once bought a bowl of soup to the movie. This made me laugh so hard.

Optimistic Ronny Cheng is officially my absolute favourite sign of the apocalypse.
AMC's new pricing model is why I wait for movies to make their way to HBO.
That's why I go to the little theater down the road, fully updated, free refills and they show old movies on the weekends including rocky horror on Friday night.
I use AMC A-list so I pay monthly. It's worth it if you go to the movies a few times a month but on slow months it can be a loss.
That's how the pricing works for live theater. Prime seats in the middle cost more than seats way in the back. Funny how No one complains that the matinee price is lower.
@@stevelouie5928 are we watching batman live? No we aren't, unless I'm seeing Matt Reeves shoot this with the actors it isn't the same thing. There's no valid reason for this model especially since they just increased their ticket prices and less popular movies aren't cheaper.
@@RevolvingCube I don't watch movies frequently so that doesn't work for everyone, I'd be losing money. I'm certain there are families who only take their kids as a special thing, not monthly so unless we're saying theatres only cater to elite customers then this is a bad precedent

I'm from Moldova and this is a very scary real thing that might happen.
Just like Ukraine, Moldova is a ex soviet republic who elected a pro european president. And unfortunately Russia illegally put a army on our soil now for 30 years, just after Moldova broke from the soviets.

The first 2 weeks a movie is in release, the studio gets like 80%+ of the ticket revenue. Beyond the initial period, the studio take of ticket sales is on a declining balance schedule giving more percentage to the theater. So drive up the price of the movie on release and lowering the price a couple weeks later, maybe some people will delay seeing the movie and as the theater take goes up, the theater makes more money. Note: This ticket take percentage is why theater concessions are so expensive. The money is in the popcorn and soda--the cup and container cost more than the contents hence the 400% + profit per sale.

Funny thing is AMC isn’t really trying a new pricing model. They’re actually vamping up a strategy they started testing a few years ago with certain 3D releases especially. I remember taking my entire family to the premiere for Black Panther, and leaving the theater $300 light! Online price was $14.50, however upon our arrival, we were advised that the regular theater premiering the movie was sold out and only the “new and improved theater, showing in 3D was available. Those seats of course were nearly $23, times 9, plus treats! I was shocked and appalled!!!
Technically the 3D experience required a different set of projectors and a very slightly modified film. I remember seeing a Dark Knight film (not sure which) in IMAX and there were like two scenes shot for IMAX and the rest of the movie was the same. I’ll just stream every movie from home and never go to a movie theater again.
when they said it was sold out, you should have reminded them that your purchases were part of the sell-out.
The entire business model of the movie theater is antiquated. In ten years they will have went the way of Blockbuster video. I personally haven't went in years, the price per seat to sit in a room in front of a giant screen is outrageous.

@@amicloud_yt Considering the fact that it was a spontaneous family event, with multiple vehicles traveling from different parts of Columbus, it wouldn't have made financial sense to pay in advance. Ultimately, would've paid for 13 tickets with what resulted in nine attendees. Noooppppe, NEVER giving away my hard-earned coins like that.

I went to the moviess during the pandemic. It was great cause no one was there. All seriousness though, I don't mind the pricing model. The theaters were struggling and they're trying to adjust now that movies being released for free on HBOmax and for a price on other channels is major competition they are losing. I prefer going to the movies. It's an experience that's just not quite the same even though i have a movie room in my house.

I always wondered why theaters don't charge different for big vs. small movies. Why is it the same $11 to see a $250 million Batman movie or to see a $2 million indie? Broadway does it with bigger and smaller shows.

Moldova IMO was obvious. Not just hindsight but jees somewhere i remember even mentioning it last week when someone asked about next steps. One sim involves NATO nations. It wouldn't be the North (Lithuania, Estonia, etc.) - it was going to be Moldova or Georgia to the South. But the push was more leaning towards Moldova.
I thought the different pricing applies to other countries…guess not. We’ve been paying more for new movies than old ones which make sense..and shows before noon are cheaper than those after 12pm.
