This was last year. All this week, they set off fireworks in various locations including Coney Island, Midtown Manhattan on the East River, the Hudson River since its return for the first time since 2013, the New York Harbor, Time Square where they usually did since New Year’s Eve, and finally at the Bronx Borough Hall which is not far from Yankee Stadium. Last night, they did nothing, so they’re going to do the Empire State Building for the finale tonight. Each of the fireworks are 5-minute intervals due to the taping of the special.
By the way, I have videos of many the fireworks in different locations courtesy of multiple users, and I will combined several videos and cram into one big show. I will be uploading later this weekend.

I haven't been keen on celebrating the holiday. tinyurl.com/ybp9zw3u But lately I've realized that July 4th was also the date of the Union victory at the Battle of Gettysburg in 1864. Without that victory, General George McClellan probably would have defeated Abraham Lincoln in the presidential election of that year and offered peace terms to the Confederacy that would have left chattel slavery in place in the South for decades to come. So, when I say, "Happy Fourth of July!" it's to honor that victory over the Southern Slavocracy and not the White Supremacists, most of the leading ones slave-owners, who in 1776 signed the Declaration of Independence, which hypocritically declared, "All men are created equal ...."
