Amazing game… When it inevitably goes down to $15 I’ll get it again
This!! The original still looks and runs great on PS5 (it was actually patched to 60fps)
Once it drops to $30 it’s worth it not at $60. Especially with the original being free on PlayStation Plus.
I’m still sticking with the PS4 version of Until Dawn and it looks great on PS5. Doesn’t even need a remake, says ArrogantStation
It will be worth it on pc but only after that price drops by about half.
A player-controlled camera can never feel "more cinematic" than a fixed camera, because it's antithetical to the very idea of 'playing a movie.' And I saw another video bring up the point that they could have tweaked things like making the relationship meters have more of an impact, but they didn't. There's not enough new here from a not old game to justify why it should exist.
I didnt mind spending the $60 i loved the original. Im about half way through it and i think they did a great job with the remake.
-the Graphics
-the cinematic’s
-the new content
No issue spending the $60 to support a project i enjoy
Exactly, people complaining about it being 60 don’t get they fully rebuilt it. Charging 20 for it they wouldn’t make their movie back lol
2 new dialog lines is hardly new content. Runs like shit! Crashes non stop! Buggy AF! Lost its creepy lighting as well! No way you actually played this yet! Bot!
@@artyomnoss6464 i have the game and currently enjoying it even if i already played this 5 years ago. Sucks to be someone who only knows pure hate :p
@artyomnoss6464 well I must be a bot to because I agree with this statement and I'm having a great time with the remake...
Im a fan of the original and I just cant justify the price point. Like you said, it hasn’t aged much. If you enjoyed the original of course you will enjoy the remake, but this game honesty didnt need a remake… at least not on ps5.. they should of waited to ps6 generation
it should’ve been way cheaper imo. like for TLOU2 remake, it allowed you to only pay 10 if you already bought the game.
60 dollars is insane for a game that I already have, just with upgraded visuals.
@@xacvhFAs i agree we need more new experiences, but some games deserve remakes and feel like drastically different experiences like the resident evil 2, 3 remake and silent hill 2 remake. Until dawn us not deserving of a remake
Man why would you release this around the same time as the silent Hill remake? If I'm picking a horror game to buy, I'm picking the one that significantly expands upon the original game which came out 23 years ago rather than a graphical update to a game That came out 9 years ago. And ultimately still looks pretty damn good as it is
I can’t get past the soundtrack. It’s so disappointing. They completely robbed the last scene of all its tension with that generic soundtrack.
Not even for free I want to play Until Dawn again, already got the platinum 9 years ago.
If there was a way to upgrade from the PS4 version for a cheaper price I’d consider because I haven’t played since the ps4 original. It was a good game. It perfectly captured the low budget B, teen slasher movies from the 80s and 90s that people like me used to love.
I honestly love this remake but completely understand why others won't. It definitely didn't need one and I recommend saving the money.
Amazing game but the original holds up 100%. The graphics went from life like to life like. No point
Besides the Over the Top amd uncanny Valley Facial Animations that looked and still look creepy as fuck in some moments.
The remake does look pretty good, but I’m gonna wait for a sale on this one. The original holds up really well and runs at a 60 fps mode. But the remake runs only at a 30 fps mode and has noticeable dips below 30. I also prefer the blueish tint on the original which was an art design choice. Even though the graphics are improved in the remake, I still prefer the original look. $60 is not really worth it, especially when it doesn’t offer a $10 or free upgrade, unlike horizon zero dawn remaster, which has a $10 upgrade. Once it goes on sale for about $20 to $30, maybe I might reconsider.
It hasn't lost any of its slasher-movie charms, huh...? I think the lighting of specific areas, the weird shift to 3rd person behind-the-shoulder to make it less cinematic and the toning down of how the snowstorm looks says otherwise.
This game is absolutely amazing I started it up last night my friends and I love it I can't wait to play tonight they did an amazing job definitely worth it and the dual sense is so dope 😊😊
From what i've watched of walkthroughs, i have 2 complaints.
1) WHY WOULD YOU REMOVE THE ICONIC OPENING CREDITS AND THE LITERAL GOD TIER SONG "O DEATH"
2) they removed a very specific musical cue in chapter 10. Its when everyone runs upstairs when the wendigos invade the basement and theres a giant brass cue when the camera shows the wendigo and its so dramatic, but they removed it for the remaster 🙁
$60 is wild. I’ll wait until it goes on sale or gets put on PS+
Why there is no complain about this game not having performance mode
Because it's unnecessary with this type of game being that it's a slower paced type of adventure mostly with qte sequences so 60fps wouldn't really do much.
I can’t get over how bad the new OST and soundtrack is compared to the original. Also they ruined the aesthetic in a bunch of parts of the game by changing the lighting. I’d give it a solid 5 out of 10.
The best part about the remake is the accessibility settings. The original didn't have them
So why didn't this get a 10$ upgrade from last gen version like other Sony exclusives.. very strange and too pricey when the PS4 version runs great
Feels like the term remake has lost all meaning, cause how on earth is this in the same category as for example the resident evil remakes…love until dawn but I’m not paying full price for a slight graphical upgrade and a few new scenes. It’s hard for me to see this as anything but a cash grab.
The only reason a remake is great because people on Pc can finally play
When I hear people talk of until Dawn, the first thing it comes to mine is Song of Horror. It’s a hidden gem that more people should know about because I consider it one of my favorite games of all time. It has an inventory system you can combine items. It has multiple characters that you can choose from and it’s available on all systems. More people should really play this game.
If I can be completely honest here, I think they made characters and environment more detailed, but the additional cutscenes, at least in the beginning, looked so awkward. The original I think was fine, and in the remake I would've loved to see a change in some of the awful dialog, some of the awkward facial movements, and more additions to the game to justify the price. The opening scene was awful in my opinion. I'm not saying some of the changes weren't good, but I feel like they could've waited another 10 years before touching this game and enhancing it. It just felt unecessary.
The remake is good so far but man I miss the old soundtrack. Especially when Sam is in the bath is now replaced with some kinda pop music 😢
I wish there was a way, to keep Beth alive, she was sweet, and really didn't deserve to die!
This came out at the wrong time seeing as there a bunch of new games and better remakes coming out in October i like the game when it came out on ps4 but not enough for me to pay 60 dollars right now
Honestly? The weakest part of it was music. Gosh, it’s horrible, especially compared to original one. I swear when first credits started and instead of iconic O’Death this absolutely generic song started to play, my sister asked me „are you sure it’s the game and not some UA-cam let’s play or TikTok edit?”. Same at the final credits - this track doesn’t work at all. Why would you remove something whitch worked so well and people loved so much in the first place? Unless there was a problem with right to score, I seriously don’t get it. Adding some new tracks? No problem, but for God’s sake, original was better in this part.
Hi dear Friends in gaming Bolt ... i love your work ... i have a question where is your review for silent hill 2 in Meta Critic ?! Your Score help for final meta score ...
Sony really need to stop expecting people to pay full price for a game they already bought years earlier just because it looks nicer now
Why is no one talking about the pa5 version is 30fps only. And it is sooooo baddddddddddd. No there is NO performance mode. If you download the game at all sony will not refund
The graphics are amazing. It's just the music & sound effects are so different. Plus every dialogue, sound effect & foot sound effects is echoing for me, even when outside. This happening to anyone else
They could have just updated the original game …
This should have had an ps5 upgrade
Personally, I'm ok with the $60 price tag. I mean it's not the best but it could have been 70.
Anyways I'm glad they added a bit more to this as I love the first game but felt we were missing some key info/context/ect if that makes sense
Agree, I really appreciate the additions and the game and the windigos so look much creepier.
@@WKHammons yeah, plus i just love the third person camera angle. Didn’t hate the fixed ones in the original but i wanted to look at everything were it was hard to do
I was interested in this but Sony of course ruined it with the change in lighting. It went from a dark spooky blue to bright orange! It completely ruins the atmosphere imo. Thank God I tried the Metaphor: ReFantazio demo on a whim. And damn the game blew me away! So I'll be playing that instead!
This remake just showed how desperate Sony is. An original version can still be played on the latest ps console. And it was remade? What a joke!!! It made sense for PC player though as it was not available on PC before.
They removed the blue tint from the original
It's an 8 you're welcome
It's just a prank Han
Not sure why it's suddenly become acceptable to call a remaster a remake.. still a great classic though, will get this on sale 👌
honestly i did buy it on release and i have ti say i did enjoy replaying it especially doing it with my mom and best friend. it was fun making decisions w them especially with the graphics being really good. there are a few bugs that i do feel should have been fixed before release and the soundtrack isnt as good as the original, but ultimately i do feel they did a pretty good job with the remaster. i would have preferred it being 40 dollars but games are almost 80-100 nowadays so the fact it was the same price as the original from almost 10 years ago, i dont mind it too much!
This is a remaster and not a remake. Like TLOU was a remaster and not a remake. They keep saying remake and it's driving me insane. It's the same game with the same performances and story. Resident Evil 2 is a remake. This is not. That being being said I totally want this game cause I love the PS4 version. But again it's a remaster.
Remake or not, we love until dawn good score 👏
When I seen you have pay full price to play this version I laughed out loud 😂. I’ll just stick with the PS4 version. It still looks amazing.
too expensive
Is anybodys dialogue & foot sound effects really echoey. When mike is running to save jess his foot sounds seem really muffled & echos
I love until dawn. But I don’t buy the same game
2024 is the year of the remakes 😂
Thing is if they wanted to release the game on PC it was probably the better option to redo it and release it for PC. Too many games are just ports done directly to PC which yes keeps the game original but too often its done rather poorly and performs terribly on any PC regardless of if its low end or high end in terms of hardware. Also, by doing it the way they did they were able to better integrate new features found on PCs such as ray tracing then they would have if they just did a port. I didn't play the original because I don't have a PS4. Probably going to get this for Christmas or something like that. I did like The Quarry and do have the Dark Pictures games on my wishlist. I would like to start a little game. Name a game that was good but the port to PC was terrible? I'll start by saying GTA 4.
“The final verdict” you reviewed it a day after its release 💀
I have never played this, I was about to buy the original game as it's only £5 now in the used game shop nearby, but then saw this remake and thought I'd wait and see. I bet it will decrease in price though, as these drama adventure games always plummet in price anyway
Get the OG game, it is worth it trust me. No need to wait for this remaster.
Newbie to this game.
Look, I think until dawn on the pS5 is a really good idea. But the one thing I cannot forgive them for making the game $60.Why do you have the ps4 version downloaded in your gaming library? Knowing that you can just get the ps5 version for like what... for free?!
I also wish there is an option to go in the main menu and change the sound check to the ps4 version
PC master race finally get to play.
This was great on the ps4 and thats were I'm gonna leave it 😂
I will get it when it’s around 15 dollars probably my favorite qte game lol I’ve played most of there qte games and it’s still the best one though I really like house of ashes
A qte game remake is stupid
They made superior winter horror game to stupid summer horror game. PS4 is way to go don't buy this shit.
30fps? Pass
Just finished it awersome game
I'll be 40 no much more for this one
"Looks exactly as i remember it"
More trash transitions in the editing department
Not worth 70€
Yes it until dawn needed a remake on a playstation five trust me
I bet it sucks just like the original.
Could've just made a sequel.🫡
Superdisapointment. Casting of Frank Stone is 1M times better and its more enjoyable than whatever this game is
First
i know you're not trying to imply that mike is one of the bad characters you wanted to see die. not MY final boy.
They gave it an 8/10. There saved you 8 Minutes. This So called "Remake" isn't worth 70, 60, or heck even 50 bucks. Get it for 15 bucks max. The Original Game was a mediocre Teenager Slasher, this "Remake" runs worse, looks partially worse and plays worse due to free camera. Don't buy it.
Replacing the original music really is a huge flaw with this remake. The original was so good and memorable, and the new one doesn't even come close.
They did Jason Graves dirty.
for the opening credits i agree it's horrific, but for the rest of the game like action sequences and the music you hear when you're on the ps5 menu it's actually pretty amazing
@perfection2781 I was the opposite, I didn't mind them changing O Death since it's been done to death, pun intended with their other games. But I was missing that creepy music from the original. This remake's atmosphere and vibes just ain't even close to being as creepy as the original imo
I genuinely think it's worse than the original. The music, the UI, sound affect, the lighting, even the character design tweaks. The only good thing is josh can be saved now.
