We love seeing happy reactor while watching our Sunshine Boy's Stell Performance! He nailed it and he knows it. We love him so much coz he never bragging about how phenomenal superstar he is!
Stell's performance is nothing short of impressive. And what makes it even more incredible is that it was unplanned, not part of the concert repertoire, and an impromptu challenge from David Foster. It's even nerve-wracking because the song has "impossible notes." Stell had already sung three high-pitched and vocally demanding songs, and to top it off, he's not in the best condition (he's sick). I had to mention, too, that a day prior to the concert, SB19 had intense performances at an event. And the elephant in the room-he's a man, hitting the piece in female key and doing it cleanly.
I just want to add, that song was not given to Stell ahead for him to sing. It was during the concert day when sir David asked Stell if he can sing the song all by myself. Here's the story: when it was Stell's time to rehearse his 3 songs (he was the front act) sir David was on the stage also, and he called Stell asking if he wore his in ears. So, Stell was surprised. Sir David asked him if he can sing the All by myself and stell said, yes. After singing, sir David asked stell if it was okey if he will sing the song that night as part if the concert. and that was it! (stell said in an interview after the concert)
@@TheSomaticSinger I think Stell was already familiar to the song because he sang it already in their "IN THE ZONE CONCERT" 2 years ago (there are some videos available in yt, if you want to do some RV). And All by myself is one of his favorite songs, maybe that was why he was able to hit the money note without much rehearsal or practice.

Why not watch the interview of ABS CBN to Stell after the concert? He said that in the interview. If Singing the song twice in front of Sir David is a rehearsal for you, then its up to you. Stell even called and asked his own vocal coach backstage to help him. Yes, we are pinoy, how about you?! We are only noisy because we are proud of our kababayan.
Yep, I saw the interviews too and the YT videos, and the 'practice' is the one time he was asked to sing during SOUNDCHECK.. I don't think singing during SOUNDCHECK can be considered as practice.. 😊 my 2 cents.. 😊 As mentioned in this RV, SB19 always brings their A game because they always prepare and hone themselves.. as Pablo said, you always prepare because you never know when an opportunity will come, and you should always be ready. This is what happened with Stell.. He has talent and dedication to hone his craft, and when he had this chance, he was able to showcase it all superbly.. cringe no, but goosebumps on how this humble and hardworking man was rewarded with triumph.. Kudos to Stell 😊

I can give you names of Filipina belters who can sing this song with NO rehearsal. You can actually go to a karaoke bar in the Philippines and see people go up and sing this song with no rehearsal. This is a difficult song😅! Stell has reached the pinnacle of his singing career with this performance- David Foster?!? David asked him to do the opening act! Hard to believe (and seems only yesterday) that Stell doubted his abilities, was trying hard to breakthrough the Philippine music scene, and he was bullied. The universe has a plan for this young man.
Stell was a last-minute addition to the show as the FRONT ACT. He was just supposed to sing 3 songs - All I Ask by Adele, Defying Gravity, and his solo song ROOM. But during his rehearsal/sound check, David Foster asked him to come up on stage while DF was rehearsing and asked him to try to sing All By Myself. Stell was so confused but agreed and DF guided him to the arrangement and Stell was just basically trying to sing along without much effort, doing falsetto and all as he doesn't know why they're doing that coz it's not included in his set list. After that, DF asked him if he'd like to sing it. Still confused, Stell answered, "if it's okay with you Sir". Stell finished performing his 3 songs (being the front act), and then he was called back again by DF during the main show. DF went on to challenge Stell that he only has one shot at nailing the note (even showing a clip of Celine Dion hating on DF for giving her the impossible note). Stell was obviously very nervous and pressured but it was a big opportunity he can't let past. And he NAILED IT! So proud of our boy!

firstly, Stell was given this song to sing on the last minute during sound check rehearsal just a couple of hours before the show.. secondly, he’s had prior successive performances within 2 weeks span with the launching of his debut single and the mini concert with SB19 at Agusan (not to mention he also got sick before his debut) plus the rehearsals in between performances and the rehearsals for his upcoming concert with Julie Ann San Jose as well as for Erik Santos’ US concert tour.. and yet he still tried his best to deliver and boy did he deliver amazingly.

Ummmm, professional singers sing a lot of songs on the spot, and they sing it well as long as it is within their range. A singer only needs a lot of practice if the song is difficult for them. Watch the audition of a pinoy group at AGT, they sang on the spot this same song acapella. Now that one is really difficult.

Well said, sir! 🙌 Just found your channel on my fyp, and it did not disappoint! I'm so glad you pointed out about range. Lots of people think it's normal for a person to sing in the higher register of range, not truly understanding having a wide range doesn't guarantee great sound. It still requires technique, excellent control, and (imo) musicality. Truly Stell is a technical marvel 😍🍓 If you could, pls do check out his performance "Sometime Somewhere" at the Gen C concert ( composed by a Philippine national artist, Ryan Cayabyab). A clearer fan came was uploaded nt Nars'tin. Apparently, video recording was not allowed during the concert 😅

Ummmm, professional singers sing a lot of songs on the spot, and they sing it well as long as it is within their range. A singer only needs a lot of practice if the song is difficult for them. Watch the audition of a pinoy group at AGT, they sang on the spot this same song acapella. Now that one is really difficult.

I'm so glad you pointed out about range. Lots of people think it's normal for a person to sing in the higher register of range, not truly understanding having a wide range doesn't guarantee great sound. It still requires technique, excellent control, and (imo) musicality.
