    My father was born in Kansas in 1918, and grew up playing Fox and Geese in the snow. He said it was a game that was played by the children of pioneers, which would have been his parents. I had no idea that it was so wide spread. Such a fascinating video.
    Btw, it’s great exercise.

    You mentioned that some variations of the game start with more geese. You could think of adding more geese as a way to help/handicap either player. If you find that the fox is usually winning, add another goose next time you play. If the fox is usually loosing, remove a goose next time you play. (Something like the way you handicap Go by having black start with one to nine stones already on the board.)

      It can be, for sure! But adding more geese to the board can help even the odds up.

    Wow, this video was great! Would you be looking into selling your boards? It's very hard to find good fox and geese boards and yours looks just perfect. I saw you talked to one person about thinking about opening a Esty store and I recommend doing that as well. I honestly think there will be a lot of interest for your boards if you do it.

      Thank you for the vote of confidence!
      I do plan on opening a storefront at some point, life is just very much all over the place right now - hence my lack of video updates in a while.

    06:35 Am I wrong in thinking that the fox could have eaten 4 geese in one go? Up, left, down and diagonal?

      I've toyed with the idea of opening up an Etsy store or something similar. Just not sure how much interest there would be,.

    6:33 why didn't the fox jump diagonally to eat middle goose then horizontally and backward?

    • @TheRavensTable
      @TheRavensTable  Рік тому +1

      Good eye! In that case, the fox should have. I just missed the move as I was thinking ahead to all the other points I wanted to cover in the video.
