Just wanted to point out that it's stated that Paul defeated Ogre in his Tekken 4 prologue, however he never faced True Ogre and thus was not considered the winner of the tournament. Despite that this video was excellent.
Jin only won one tournament bro, and that tk5 tk3 heihachi was still the head leader, then comes kazuya in tk4 jin beat them but people around the world never experience it there for heihachi was still the leader, then finally won tk5
So in short, Tekken is all about throwing your son, dad and grandad off of a cliff or in a volcano so they end up surviving and organizing tournaments to take revenge with each other
Respect for heihachi. Got wife. Turn out to be devil. Got kid. Devil. Got grandkid well guess again. Devil. Got daddy, devil too. Somehow he is the only real human in this family feud eh..
Heihachi surviving the explosion in 5 is made so much funnier by the fact that he was part of the main roster. How did he survive? The explanation is literally "He is built different".
there's an ending where one character wins and then he's shown in a pool chilling with hot babes and heihachi is his servant, and when heihachi growls at him he clicks a button that makes the same sound the jack made before the explosion and heihachi freaks out and apologises
I think he's dead for good. But a Tekken game without Heihachi in the base roster is just too weird. They'll have to add him in as a flashback moment or something related to that.
I never realized how awesome the story behind Tekken is. As a kid, I never paid much attention to the story but looking back as an adult, the story is interesting.
@@sssgaming612 Definitely. Tekken 7 screwed a lot of things with retcons. Some good but most were just dumb. First Kazuya made a deal with the Devil to live on to take revenge because his father was power hungry and wanted a son who wasn't a weakling. This is expressed in everything from T1-T4: Adopting Lee just to make Kazuya jealous and form a rivalry so he'd want to get stronger. Dropping him off the cliff because he believes that his Son is weak and unfit to rule the Mishima Zaibatsu when he's dead. T4 comes along and says that the devil can be experimented on, and that's fine; weird, but I mean Devil did take him over fully in T2 so it's not too out of question. Then T7 goes full blown nonsense and says that the devil is actually hereditary, Heihachi's wife is from a group of ACTUAL DEMONS who could see into the future and saw a prophecy that showed he'd become a really bad person, so she marries and has a kid with the guy in order to get closer to him, then tries to kill him. He then finds out that she was just fucking with him so she could get closer to kill him, then he kills her and becomes a bad person LITERALLY making a self-fulfilling prophecy: Heihachi tries to murder his own son because his wife was, again, an ACTUAL DEMON who tried to kill him, so he attempts to kill his son only because he fears he's also a demon. She presumably sees that he'll do this and more in her clans prophecy, but fails to see that she's the cause of it. If she didn't betray him, Tekken's whole history would have never happened. Then Heihachi threw his own son off a cliff NOT because he's a power hungry tyrant who wants an equally ambitious heir, but because he had to be sure his son wasn't also a demon, which is yet another self-fulfilling prophecy, because it's one of the primary reasons his son hates him and wants him dead. He could have told Kazuya the truth about his mother, her basically marrying him only to kill him, and that he killed her in self-defense. Kazuya was like 7, he was old enough to comprehend that without being overly confused (at least for Heihachi's actions. His mom's are confusing even for an adult). Then Heihachi could have possibly raised his son as a mildly decent father. Kazuya still might have been power hungry too but he probably would have just inherited the Mishima Zaibatsu in good faith anyway and Him and Heihachi would possibly have been on somewhat good terms. At the very least his son wouldn't have been on some "I'm gonna destroy the world because daddy took mommy away" nonsense.
@@thaddeuscheeleyjr.369 As someone who is a fan of all Tekken games, not just the franchise itself. For me personally Tekken 7 kind of fixed the story, for me at least. What you are saying about T1-T4 wise, can be canon or non-canon. Remember those times? Tekken 4 was the first Tekken that gave the fans rich details about it's history. I also belive that one can include all the details in the Mishima saga, even with little changes. Remember how until Tekken 5, everyone saw Heihachi as the big villain, Kazuya as a victim and Jin as a hero? I think Tekken 6 started the retcons with 7, continuing on it. Making Heihachi seem somewhat good, Kazuya from victim to abuser and Jin as anti-hero. I'd say that Heihachi, besides his lust for power, is an honorable man whom indeed wished for a true, powerful successor, but got a devil son instead who would chose to kill and take everything away from him, rather than sharing the empire. That's way Heihachi adopted Lee, not just as a way to get to Kazuya, but to make sure this adopted son, is not a devil. Same thing with Jin, Heihachi probably would have loved to rule alongside with hid grandchild, but unfortunately it wasn't possible. Finally I truly belive, Kazuya and Jin are victims of this bloodline, because they didn't just inherited the devil, but also the Mishima's lust for power. And story wise, Kazuya and Jin need to die too, and the only ones who can cleanse the bloodline are Lee and Lars. Although for Lars, it might be hard since he is into cyber-sex ;)))
@@DIP8ONE Can be canon? No it is canon. it's written in the manuals, intros, backstory text, comics and history of each game. Nothing of what I said was speculation or opinion aside from the end where I said that If Kazumi didnt betray Heihachi or if he didn't throw Kazuya off a cliff, none of this would have happened; which could be true but it's guaranteed. I'm not sure who's ever seen them so bluntly, but Heihachi has always been a villain. Wang remarks on his behavior in the first 2 games, He "killed" his father months before Kazumi tried to kill him, and had been trying to seize control of the Zaibatsu before that. Heihachi is't definitely not a good person, nor is he honorable. You don't just go from "I want to rule my father's business with an iron fist" to "I'm a psychopath that wants a son as crazy as me" to "I really want my son dead because he's the devil and I've been trying to do the right thing this whole time". Tekken 7 only added that in there to speed up the story because Tekken 6 took too long to explain nothing but gibberish, like azazel being the root cause of all evil and Lars' memory loss; most of that game does nothing to actually continue the story. Kazuya has been a verified villain since Tekken 2. The game even goes on to state that under his control, The mishima Zaibatsu is even worst than when Heihachi was in power (he smuggles, experiments on animals a.k.a. Roger and Alex, and other strange things that apparently. I guess Heihachi is reserved when it comes to some crimes). Technically since Tekken 1, since his backstory makes it very clear his motivations (Dad threw me off cliff so I made a deal with the devil to live on and get revenge). So Heihachi has always been bad, yes, but Kazuya is at best an anti-hero, and at worst a secondary villain. Jin has also always been an anti-hero. He doesn't seek to do what's right or what's morally just; he does everything for selfish reasons. In Tekken 3, he only wanted Heihachi to train him so he could fight Ogre because he believed Ogre kill his mother. He also hates his father and believes him to be the cause of all the tragedy he's suffered, which is true to some degree (Having some of Kazuya's devil power meant that Heihachi and Kazuya were after him to use it for themselves, and he was also attacked by Ogre and subsequently lost his mother because of his power). That's why in Tekken 4 he fully planned to kill both Heihachi and Kazuya, again not because it's a good thing, but because he wants vengeance for all the things that he's gone threw in the last 2 games. Lee was directly stated to have been adopted for the sole purpose of making Kazuya jealous. had nothing to do with Heihachi having a devil son. Again, Tekken 7, makes it seem heriditary which just conflicts with what's already known. Heihachi had no love for Lee, and only adopted him because he saw him fight off 7 other kids as a street urchin and he was impressed and figured that having Lee train with him would make kazuya jealous that his father would rather train with some random kid he found rather than his own son. If Tekken 7 is the case, then Lee is still already adopted by Heihachi but kills his own son. If he liked Lee why didn't he teach him the mishima yu, the family martial arts that all Mishima's are taught, and why didn't he give him control over the Zaibatsu? Heihachi is like 50 something during T1 and was younger still when he killed Kazuya. Plently of time to have trained Lee and make him the next heir. I'll admit that Tekken 4 is where the story starts to open up more but the retcons actually also started there too, not Tekken 6. Tekken 6 was absurd but as far as the story goes, it actually didn't interfere with anything that was already established. It just made up a bunch new stuff that made no sense, and a little bit stuff that "could" make sense. Eddie's master being sick was established in Tekken 4. Christie, his master's granddaughter, even enters the tournament that game for this very reason. Him being elderly is known in Tekken 3, so it makes sense that he could become fatally ill. All good. But then Tekken 6 comes and says Eddie joined Jin's Tekken Army on the conditions that Jin helps his master, but his master dies because Eddie is apparently too late. Doesn't make any sense. Why didn't Eddie just sign on with that agreement and not have it be something that would happen after he served Jin? Like, "help my master now, and I'll join your army once the doctors give him treatment and tell me he's fine." Then there's Lars being an illegitimate son of Heihachi and some spy who tried to kill him. That could make sense, Heihachi's in charge of a large corporation and has a lot of enemies, it's not too much to assume one of them hired a killer to do him in and that it just so happened to be a woman and he just so happened to impressive her enough not to. I mean remember, this guy caught a bullet shot directly at his face with his teeth and has survived being tossed down a huge cliff. I'm no woman, but I'd like to believe that stuff could turn on just about any woman. Both this and the Eddie thing don't really have any bearings on the story. That's like all of Tekken 6. Azazel being the root of all evil is fine, but it doesn't just magically explain why Kazuya and his mother apparently are part demon, nor does it explain how Jinpachi became a devil. Azazel just exist, and killing him removes all evil in the world? how does that work?? The only thing I fully agree with you on is that Jin didn't choose the devil powers. Kazuya, again, I don't take Tekken 7 to heart, but he literally made a deal with the devil to stay alive for revenge. He clearly made a choice.
I love how tekken manages to make it extremely difficult to tell if heihachi, kazuya and jin are truly evil. They are definitely in some regards, but they still follow their believs and plans. Also it's even harder to tell if Kazuya is the main character or Jin by now
At least they don’t recycle the same ideas every tekken. It would be silly if they just kept tossing each other off cliffs and getting attacked by jack battalions.
Jinpachi, Heihachi, Kazuya, and Jin - all four generations of the Mishima Clan are the pivotal leads of the Tekken series, and also the series' most tragic characters; Jinpachi was betrayed by his own son Heihachi and ended up being possessed by a vengeful evil spirit for no reason; Heihachi developed intense trauma and paranoia due to his wife Kazumi's betrayal which eventually led to the strained relationships he later had with the rest of his family; Kazuya lost both his mother and grandfather because of his father, got constantly abused by Heihachi during his childhood eventually making him cold-blooded and evil-hearted, and also got even more corrupted due to the Devil Gene present in him; while Jin lost his mother because of Ogre, was betrayed by his grandfather and continuously antagonized by his father eventually forcing him to battle against them, and had to reluctantly carry the corruptive power of the Devil Gene within him. This only proves the fact that none of the members of the Mishima Clan had been originally evil - it was because of certain reasons and circumstances that made them turn against each other and also against the whole world...
I'm pretty sure that Kazuya, capable of canonically tanking a cliff drop as a child, a volcano searing, an orbital strike and a beating from a super saiyan-level father is capable of going toe to toe against other ridiculously powerful characters such as Sephiroth in Smash. Then again, who knows how strong Jin and Kazuya will be at Tekken 8. Or Tekken Tag Tournament 3...
You must take into consideration that everyone in smash is extremely nerfed compared to their canon versions, Kazuya wouldn't really be that much trouble for sephiroth. And don't get me started with kirby
They also go against the mayor of a chill town and a dog-duck duo, as well as two small electric rodents. Power levels in Smash are all over the place.
Jinpachi was possessed by an evil spirit unlike Jin and Kazuya who inherited Hachijo blood. Jinpachi wasn't bound by blood. His death was kinda weird though, like turning into sand dust Infinity War style.
If Jinpachi didn’t come back It’s very likely Heihachi won’t come back either. And Tekken 8 is said to put an end to the Mishima/Kazama feud storyline, so it will probably give us the last fight between Jin and Kazuya and introduce new protagonists for future games.
The first Tekken end was kinda ominous. Kazuya throwing his father on a cliff, with a happy song, then smiling with "I just did a good to the earth" vibe.
But in tekken 2 it’s better kazuya almost dies but then Heihachi saves him kazuya is devastated by this then he smiles and use’s Heihachi as an Shield for this Heihachi throws kazuya into a volcano and jumps on a helicopter before the volcano erupts Heihachi is devastated he killed his son but than he smiles!?
@@adrianguevara1593 I mean we all know how ineffective volcanoes are in the TEKKEN universe. You're better off just using a salmon than trying to murder them in a volcano. Far more effective.
@@teamstarbreaker9929 I'm confused with your 'he changed comment because based on the storyline of Tekken series, it's clear that his only ambition was to obtain power and rule the world but per T7 he harbors a regret for killing Kazumi due to his paranoia of the imminent threat of Devil
A self-fulfilling prophecy. Kazumi tracked down Heihachi to stop him from becoming a cold-hearted tyrant, but her betrayal directly caused his descent.
@@nthabelengletanta3405 lol heihachi be like: pass that holiday sauce kazuya. Kazuya : pass that turkey first you old fool. Heihachi: damn you kazuyaaaa!
I actually have a theory on heihachi having some sort of superpower (something like the devil gene) based on three things 1-when ogre is beaten in the first round he takes heihachi and sucks his power to transform when if you're playing as heihachi he takes Jin's power (devil gene) 2-in tekken tag (I know it's not cannon but it does seem like a hint) heihachi says "I will have the power I once had" then his shadow shows him transforming into some devil or demon before proceeding to the Kuma joke. 3- heihachi throws Kazuya off the cliff to prove he does not have any powers from his mom..by that logic if he is right then he should die too from falling off the same cliff I doubt they bring heihachi in tekken 8 for more than a flashback but I'll be really satisfied if they at least announced that it was intended
Only way he can survive that is if the devil gene comes outta know where and he finally gets the power he's been wanting. But, in the end, you can still see him and Kazuya being defeated by Jin...if that happens. If he doesn't survive...well...Tekken 8 will be basically Kazuya vs Jin.
16:02 I believe at the first fight with Kazuya and Akuma, Akuma explains that Kazumi saved his life at some point, and basically owes her a life debt, which is to kill Kazuya and Heihachi if she were to fail. The reason it took him so long to show up, is because Akuma wanted Heihachi and Kazuya at their prime to give them a fighting chance.
@@newhope5729 the Hoshijo clan sent Kazumi to prevent what he unfortunately accomplished, an unhinged conglomerate powerful enough to be a global threat. Considering they claim to have seen a prophecy, I assume Akuma was tasked with targeting the most legitimate heir Kazuya because of his heel turn
Thanks for the great video. I only played Tekken 1 a few times with my PS1 back in the late 90s and never got into the other series. Watched the Tekken Bloodline anime and wanted to know more about the series so this helped a lot.
Fun fact: The butterfly wings in Kazumi’s Devil Form may be a reference to the Butterfly Effect, which makes sense, as Kazumi is the catalyst for the entire story of Tekken, being the one to influence Heihachi negatively, thus causing him to throw Kazuya off a cliff, setting the story into motion.

The cliff when it sees another member of Mishima bloodline carrying somebody and coming it's way for the 72 millionth time: *Ah Shit! Here We Go Again*
So the Mishima blood feud can be summed up as Heihachi playing a game with his son. That game is "who can throw the other off a cliff?" And it's a best of three, at that!
Why didn't Heihachi ever try to explain that his mother betrayed him? Also, why did she have to have a child with him? Couldn't she strike like on the wedding night or something lol
@@romariomejia5396 eh he knew her genes were passed over to Kazuya and he wanted to get rid of them completely same with Jin, he knew the genes went over from his father
This feud all started because Heihachi was supposed to become a tyrant and Kazumi wanted to stop it because she apparently has seers' abilities. You know, this relationship needs more communication.

+sheriff beasley - In SCII, That character slot depends on which console you're playing on... * GameCube: Link (Nintendo) * PS2: Heihachi (Bandai/Namco) * Xbox: Spawn (Image Comics) Just based on copyright, it seems obvious that the video, if not covering all three, would end up covering Heihachi's role, since Bandai/Namco owns the rights to Tekken and Soul Calibur. On the other hand, if they were to go in-depth on the cameo characters, that means we'd also find out why Darth Vader shows up in SCIV.

there's an ending where one character wins and then he's shown in a pool chilling with hot babes and heihachi is his servant, and when heihachi growls at him he clicks a button that makes the same sound the jack made before the explosion and heihachi freaks out and apologises
@@stktenioudakis lol it was Lee and he's his adopted son apparently

Edit: i mean he technically did…?
I literally complete the tekken 7 story last night and messaged my mate saying "I bet Heihachi is still alive in tekken 8." It's so predictable lmao.
Nah I think he‘s dead, but his Moveset will probably be transfered into another character.
I think he's dead for good. But a Tekken game without Heihachi in the base roster is just too weird. They'll have to add him in as a flashback moment or something related to that.
Sadly, the voice actor for Heihachi had passed away, good night to Old Joseph and Heihachi, masters of martial arts.
@@sneezydeezymcdeluxe7015 no he’s dead this time they’ll give heihachi’s moves to kazuya I believe jun is gonna stop all the fighting tho in tekken 8
I never realized how awesome the story behind Tekken is. As a kid, I never paid much attention to the story but looking back as an adult, the story is interesting.
Heihachi's logic: if you survive this fall you are the devil.
Heihachi: *survived same fall*
Heihachi: "I don't count tho"
he became he's own devil from the betrayel of kazumi.
tekken 7 screwed the start of story
He then finds out that she was just fucking with him so she could get closer to kill him, then he kills her and becomes a bad person LITERALLY making a self-fulfilling prophecy:
Heihachi tries to murder his own son because his wife was, again, an ACTUAL DEMON who tried to kill him, so he attempts to kill his son only because he fears he's also a demon.
Like, "help my master now, and I'll join your army once the doctors give him treatment and tell me he's fine."
Then there's Lars being an illegitimate son of Heihachi and some spy who tried to kill him.

@@romariomejia5396 wait what
Jinpachi, Heihachi, Kazuya, and Jin - all four generations of the Mishima Clan are the pivotal leads of the Tekken series, and also the series' most tragic characters; Jinpachi was betrayed by his own son Heihachi and ended up being possessed by a vengeful evil spirit for no reason; Heihachi developed intense trauma and paranoia due to his wife Kazumi's betrayal which eventually led to the strained relationships he later had with the rest of his family; Kazuya lost both his mother and grandfather because of his father, got constantly abused by Heihachi during his childhood eventually making him cold-blooded and evil-hearted, and also got even more corrupted due to the Devil Gene present in him; while Jin lost his mother because of Ogre, was betrayed by his grandfather and continuously antagonized by his father eventually forcing him to battle against them, and had to reluctantly carry the corruptive power of the Devil Gene within him.
This only proves the fact that none of the members of the Mishima Clan had been originally evil - it was because of certain reasons and circumstances that made them turn against each other and also against the whole world...

another twist. F!%K !!!
they could make him possessed by some lava/fire demon, then at least we know why he can't die xD
I actually have a theory on heihachi having some sort of superpower (something like the devil gene) based on three things
1-when ogre is beaten in the first round he takes heihachi and sucks his power to transform when if you're playing as heihachi he takes Jin's power (devil gene)
2-in tekken tag (I know it's not cannon but it does seem like a hint) heihachi says "I will have the power I once had" then his shadow shows him transforming into some devil or demon before proceeding to the Kuma joke.
3- heihachi throws Kazuya off the cliff to prove he does not have any powers from his mom..by that logic if he is right then he should die too from falling off the same cliff
I doubt they bring heihachi in tekken 8 for more than a flashback but I'll be really satisfied if they at least announced that it was intended
You do remember lava Jinpachi in T5:DR, with this family anything's possible.

I believe at the first fight with Kazuya and Akuma, Akuma explains that Kazumi saved his life at some point, and basically owes her a life debt, which is to kill Kazuya and Heihachi if she were to fail. The reason it took him so long to show up, is because Akuma wanted Heihachi and Kazuya at their prime to give them a fighting chance.
Considering Heihachi is in seventies and being normal human. And that's his prime state....Man I wouldn't imagine how strong he will be in 100.
But why Kazuya?? Kazuya has a devil gene just like Kazumi!! I think it's all just for Heihachi........
So that means he's been keeping tabs on both of them for 20+ years. Akuma doesn't take ANY chances, goddamn.

@Stefano Pavone I didn't know that. Thanks.

Throwing relatives down the cliff is their family tradition I see.
Jordan Wu It is
This feud all started because Heihachi was supposed to become a tyrant and Kazumi wanted to stop it because she apparently has seers' abilities. You know, this relationship needs more communication.
Reko Starr the funny thing is I bet I she didn’t force Heihachi to kill her he never become a tyrant.
@@thomassky4385 Thats the thing with "seeing into the future". Sometimes knowing about the future and trying to change it can lead up to said future.
"-Those who try to hasten the end, may delay it. Those who work to delay the end, may bring it closer." ~Paarthurnax
You know women . Sometimes they are hard to communicate
Kazumi was a dick
@@thomassky4385 They're together now RIP. I hope they work it out ^-^ lol.
So going by the lore. I think it's safe to assume that Tekken 8 will end with Jin throwing Kazuya off a cliff or in a volcano.
I’m hoping Jinpachi resurrects and beats the living crap out of all his descendants.
Lots of Smash players are gonna be needing this video...
Literally why I’m here hahaha
Yep

The average smash player: "Oh, so that's what a Tekken is..."
tekken 6 was one of first games I'm here ro learn about ti
The best explanation to this story I've seen so far. Awesome job!
Noob where have you been
volcano, check
master/apprentice, check
high ground, check
this is star wars
Its star wars all the way down
GIVE IT SEVEN MORE YEARS YOU SAY AND IT HAS BEEN 7 YOU LIVING LEGEND!!
Anybody found out where the hell that volcano that they've been throwing their family into? Every time they throw somebody in there, the guy thrown grows stronger, hell even I want to throw myself in there....
That last volcano where kazuya threw heihachi off to the lava looks like some Hawai style volcano. So maybe its in hawai?
Real good work here 💪
Now this was a delight for an old time Tekken fan since Tekken 1 who long got lost in the weird different story angles and senseless ending videos.
I really love how you put your video together visually and divide clearly between what can be comprehended storywise as facts and what should be taken just with humor to not loose my Tekken "faith" and interest.
+kanodourden awesome piece of feedback. Thanks very much Kanodourden. 😀👍
Heihachi has more lives than a cat...
Thanks man, I have been playing these games for over 20 years now and this is the first time I finally understood the story😅😓
I am amazed at how this man could tell this depressing and revenge full story in agood humour. No offense but you nailed it. Keep going. 😉
Now for Soul Calibur...
_Paws_ yea and how spawn showed up?
+sheriff beasley - In SCII, That character slot depends on which console you're playing on...
* GameCube: Link (Nintendo)
* PS2: Heihachi (Bandai/Namco)
* Xbox: Spawn (Image Comics)
Just based on copyright, it seems obvious that the video, if not covering all three, would end up covering Heihachi's role, since Bandai/Namco owns the rights to Tekken and Soul Calibur.
On the other hand, if they were to go in-depth on the cameo characters, that means we'd also find out why Darth Vader shows up in SCIV.
Yes soul calibur
@@BradenBest Street Fighter belongs to Capcom, not Bandai Namco.
Yeah i agree
Writers of tekken: what’s a good location to have the final boss fight?
Random guy: how about near a cliff each and every time
Great video! I just got Tekken 8 (first Tekken game I've ever owned) and was so confused when I started the story. This was incredibly helpful. Thank you
Thanks for choosing my video. Happy gaming. 😊
