I think it depends usually the tough love coaching works on guys who have adolescent mindset coming into the league, Guys who are flashy, only care about stats, aren’t winners, but when you give tough love to guys who already have there head on a swivel, mature, plays the right way, it comes off as harsh and derails confidence, It is made pretty clear that Polynesians grow up with strict standards, so Tua is probably like I don’t need moral lessons and mind tricks for me to be better, just be the coach, and i be the player, why do i have to continuously have to deal with the the unnecessary belittling everyday i come to work, What Flores did was unnecessary, Tua wouldve became a great QB his rookie year or in his 2nd year had Flores just been a normal coach smh

But, there's a big difference Saban would tear someone down but then he would build a player up. He is widely known as someone who if he yells at you, it's because he knows you can do better. Tua was asked a direct question, and he gave a direct answer. I watched the whole thing. This didn't seem to me like him "speaking out". In fact the majority of the time it was obvious, Tua didn't even want to talk about it at all. He tried to move on from that pretty quick. But the kid is honest to a fault
